  1. Glad to see Willy get a shot at the combine. As far as Roosevelt goes, where he is picked in the draft next year could be hurt by the fact that Willy is graduating and the kid mostly likely to replace him(his name escapes me) is an option QB. I am not sure if Gill is considering changing the offense around next year.

  2. Very nice list, even though rivals ranked them 118th in this years class. It's nice to have an interest in recruiting after all these years, here is the site in which I have been following the recruits...

I'll start taking notice when UB is able to recruit some 3 star players. This is not uncommon among MAC schools. I am not talking about all 3 star recruits but one or two per year should not be out of the realm of possibility.

  3. Why does everybody think players can be sorted into two categories: Playmakers and non-playmakers. Do you actually think that there are good players who are just categorically unable to make game-changing plays. To most people here, an opposing cornerback or safety could have a ball thrown directly at him and he would be labelled a "gamechanger". If we get an excellent pass rusher, and due to that Whitner returns 2 INTs for TDs next season, does that suddenly put him in the "gamechanger" category?

It's just such a non-academic way to look at things.

So you are saying that it is not possible for Whitner to break up a pass or come up with an interception unless the QB is under pressure? This is the guy who the Bills should build a defense around? :wallbash:

  4. Has tackling been the main criticism of Whitner?

Since it is a given that pass defense is not his strong suit, it is in my eyes. I can live with a safety whose coverage skills are somewhat lacking, but makes up for it in terms of his run defense. In the case of Whitner, his run defense this past year was below average and his pass defense even worst. Wait...well what about his ability to make game changing plays? That would also be non-existent.

  5. What's your gut feeling. I know a lot can change with some good FA signings and finding a couple of gems in the draft. Therefore, this is nothing more than a hunch. Knowing the owner, the front office, the coaching staff and the young players that are on the team today, how long do you think it will be until the Bills are back in the Super Bowl.

I know a lot of the way I feel is because of the last 10 years or so of mediocrity, but I think the Bills are at least 3 years away.

  6. certainly possible. We wouldn't want him to get into his last year of his contract. The dude is going into his 4th year, is a team captain and leader, and is only 23 years old!

You factored in everything but his play on the field.....no big deal, who worries about that anyways when handing out millions of dollars. :wallbash:

  7. No I don't, not when there is NO NEED to. If it was close that would have been one thing, however the fumble was SO OBVIOUS, what is the point of wasting time for NOTHING?

Obvious to you when? After watching dozens of replay that were shown after the game was over? Did your trained eye also see that Rothlisberger was down inside the one instead of being in for the TD before all the replays were shown? :P

  8. What's the harm in conducting the review?

Exactly. There is no way within a period of less than a minute or so that the booth review guy could have looked at all the angles and determined that it was a clear cut fumble. It should have been reviewed by the on field ref.

That play ended Arizona's chances and an extra couple of minutes to take a look would have been the correct thing to do.

  9. A long-term contract for Greer would make left cornerback Terrence McGee a lame duck. McGee, a Pro Bowl return man, is entering the final year of his contract and will turn 29 during next season.

With all that being said would the Bills be better off signing Greer and trying to get something for McGee this offseason?

I'd prefer to sign Greer and either trade McGee this offseason or keep him for 2009 and let him walk afterwards. If you think Greer is going to command a lot of money, wait until you see what kind of money McGee will be looking for.

  10. Somebody explain to me how a team like New England that has all the star players they have and is only 6 mill more than us under the cap. Sounds like some fish accounting practices to me

Or maybe it's because the pats don't overpay for average talent. i.e Kelsay, Schobel, Walker, Fowler, Evans, etc...

  11. What wisdom would you expect him to impart?

    The guy doesn't talk.

    To the media.

    To the coaches.

    To the players.

Ever see a shot of Harrison during a game? Ever see a single player anywhere near him?

There's just a lil sumfin sumfin different about Marvin. A leader he would not be.

I've noticed that many times about him. Always at the end of the bench by himself.

  12. The one goal line series in the first half where Oklahoma had the ball was a broadcasting cluster!@#$. On 2nd and goal, the PbP announcer thought it was 3rd down, on 3rd down he thought it was 4th down, and on 4th down he finally corrected himself.

Doesn't he have a spotter or director that could have corrected him?
