  1. I just came across a very funny but appropriate typo in a Business First waterfront article...

... Asbestos is being removed from both the Aud and Donovan buildings. The Aud asbestos removal should be completed by late September while the Donovan Building will be demolition-ready by early December.

Rosenow said he expects to award the Aud demolition contract by late August or early September and the Donovan demolition contracts by late December.

Both buildings should be demolished by early spring and ready for the Bass Pro construction within the next 12 years.:w00t:

"The demolition of the Aud is particularly complex," Rosenow said. "There's very limited room of staging the cranes."

  2. My post was accurate and did not need any "fixing"! IF he is guilty and runs for 1500 yards with double digit TD's, and leads the Bills to the playoffs, will you not be cheering for that "PoS"? If he is guilty and you don't watch a minute of the Bills games this season because of it, then I applaud you. But guilty or not I will be cheering for him and the Bills along with everyone else on this board. May sound crass, but it's the truth. We can bag on these guys for doing all sorts of stupid things, but in the end we help to pay their million dollar contracts with ticket and merchandise purchases. He may never win humanitarian of the year. But if he helps the Bills win a SB, right or wrong, isn't that what it's all about....

His play on the field has nothing to do with the fact that if he is "busted" as you say, he is still a PoS off the field.

  3. We drafted large WR's with drafting of Hardy and Johnson. Do we let Evans go or do we franchise him? My only question is our TE situation.

    Your thoughts?

You want to let Evans go because we drafted a 6'2" WR in the 7th round? Brilliant!

  4. This is probably the first guy I've seen who I feel actually has out performed his current deal.

    Pay him and keep him!

If you believe this is the first time a player is outperforming his contract, you are dreaming. I'm not even going to bother to provide examples except to say it happens all the time.

Should Peters have his contract renegotiated in the next year or two? Absolutely! Does it have to happen ASAP? I don't see what the urgent need is. Put another solid year together and then go see Brandon? He is three years removed from being a converted TE who nobody was even sure was going to make the roster. Then he got a brand spanking new contract less than two years ago. If they give him a new contract now and he makes 1st team all-pro this year, do they rip it up again?

  5. That's still better than listening to Howard Simon and Dennis Williams for 4 hours.

The only reason WGR morning drive has become a joke is because of Jeremy "I'd rather try to be funny(with try being the key word) or talk about other things than sports" White. Not to mention that White is an air-time hog. It is the HOWARD SIMON SHOW, not the Howard and Jeremy show or the Jeremy White show.

  6. Ralph knows that if he does not take any measures NOW to ensure that the team remains in Buffalo after his death, the team will go to the high bidder and that won't be anyone willing to keep the team in Buffalo. F*** Ralph and F*** his chances of going to the HoF. If this is what he wants his legacy to be, then so be it.

  7. Simple he had groin surgery...........Why would he be there? There is nothing for him to do there, why have him there on the sidelines and have a player come stumble into him and have him get hurt once again.

You guys look way too much into things!!!!!!!!!! I mean way too much!

If this was the case, wouldn't the coaching staff come out and say that he is excused from the OTA's due to injury? ;)

  8. Exactly....You spend all day talking to stooges, you're bound to start sounding like a stooge yourself. He is a pompous ass, but I'm sure he's playing up to that role a little bit.

The day I need Mike Schoop to tell me what's going on in the sports world is the day the world ends. Listen for enteratainment. If it's not entertaining, find another station that is.

    Sincerely,

    Jeff on a cellphone

Except for the fact that Schoop wasn't such a douche on WNSA when it was "sports talk for smart people". I guess it just gives further credence to the fact that it's nothing more than an act which is directed by the WGR PD. Either that or Schoop is going through menopause. ;)

  9. I am making a long week end for the home opener. For those of you that play golf could you tell me what are some of the better places to play up around your area.

    Thanks

There is a brand new course that opened up last year off Southwestern Blvd. about 10 minutes from RWS. I'm not much of a golfer and haven't played there, but I here it is a nice course.

  10. No way! I didn't mean to step on Johnny's toes. I only started watching this season so I had no idea.

Don't worry about it. Nice wrap up. Like I said, Johnny quit the reviews a couple of seasons back.

  11. I think your talking about the land past the skyway. That has not been developed as of yet & who knows if it ever will. There are condos back in the small boat harbor, kinda back by the old Craw Daddy's(now Shang Hai Reds) that are being built. Some of them have been there for awhile now(I think Michael Pecca used to live in one of them)but they are putting new ones up also.

That is not the small boat harbor you are talking about. It is the Erie Basin Marina. The small boat harbor is just south of the proposed Freezer Queen development(see center of linked image).

  12. Just a reminder for any folks that would consider buying one of those condos at the old Freezer Queen Site.

They are being built in a pier surrounded on three sides by water.

If you haven't been on the waterfront between December through March, you are going to have a new appreciation for what a Buffalo winter is really like.

I'm not talking Amherst, Lancaster or Orchard Park "tough Buffalo winter"-

I'm talking brutal, on the waterfront weather ,that most even true Buffalonians ,have never experienced on a daily basis.

    Enjoy the view.............

...and how is this "nasty" weather at the freezer queen location different from the weather by the condos at the waters edge adjacent to the Erie Basin Marina, that are so popular that they are building a new tower?

It's not Antarctica and you're not living in a teepee, so stop with the dramatization.

  13. All this Mel hating cracks Me up because no single individual is more responsible for the Draft being the event it is today than Kiper...Sure He's opinionated, it's His freaking Job to do EXACTY that...He's a tireless worker who is darn good at what He does...I think Kiper is great...

    :w00t:

  14. how can you seriously grade a draft before any one really plays?

Simple...guys like Kiper & Mayock rank all the players before the draft and then hand out post-draft grades based on how teams drafted versus where they had them in their rankings. Nothing more, nothing less.

I'm not sure why guys like Kiper and Mayock get ripped so much. The other talking heads that participate in the draft coverage who should be shown the door are guys like Keyshawn, Mort, Jamie Dukes, etc...

Do you really believe that these folks put in the same number of hours that a Kiper or Mayock do? The draft when it was Kiper and Berman with the occasional cut to the studio or for an interview was much better than the 5 person sets that both the NFL Network and ESPN are now using. The draft shows now follow the philosophy of the pregame shows...throw 4 or 5 people on a set and have them all talk over each other and yuck it up.

  15. Bottom line...The Bills can't afford to "miss" on picks in the 1st 3 rounds as they continue to struggle with breaking out of this 10 year period of mediocrity. If McKelvin & Hardy turn out to be productive starters and Ellis can become an effective situational pass rusher(at the very least),the draft should be considered a success. It's icing on the cake if any of the remaining picks turn out to be anything more than career backups.
