  1. he is good but watch caerfully. Unless hes near a sideline or endzone he "feels" unsafe to reach out and expose his core...he drops short ones and one-arms or out runs deep ones....the covered balls u speak of had safetys he already beat to the ball. One he caught in kc as the two dbs converged...dropped right into his tucked in arms....he didnt ever extend...hence he caught it. And a double first rounder should be running all ot after the catch...not falling down on purpose.
  2. this is also the reason sammy cant catch a pass facing inward or when a safety is coming over the top. Look closely, replay will show for 2 years he cant catch a ball if he isnt "clean"
  3. oh man i forgot thigpen, with all the stupidity, his was lost in the fray. Yes, totally stupid, and even when he runs it back he is innefective and just goes out of bounds for 10 yards. Can we free up a roster sport for me? I can run out of bounds. why? i said he did it well, but he didnt go there on third down again, when it counts just throw it to the TE or let sammy cross and fall. pretty sure i saw it and it was 36, not 26 but maybe. i could look but who cares, we just missed the playoffs again.
  4. Sorry but as bad as a few teams have been over the years, this is quite possibly the dumbest, most leaderless group weve had since van pelt took the reigns in greg williams's last year (no offense to the dough boy) where to begin? well how about the current longest tenured knucklehead bill? 1. leodis- allows the last pass of the first half to be completed at the sideline after playing tight D on all the previous and following pass attempts...where else would they have thrown it leodis?? = 3 points for them Then tries to strip the ball rather than make a tackle on a guy much larger when he had no one else to help...the second guy should go for the strip. This allows their TE to escape and get big yards= the winning 3 points...oh and we all know that int hit the ground. 2. Jerry hughes is too dumb to play the ball. Mario too, his off sides allowed the eagles an easy 3rd down conv and their first TD. Oh but 1 sack from these guys. woo hoo! eagles d line played much harder, and smarter. But thanks for not getting a 15 yarder today Jerry, for once. 3.The O-line cant play without what...10 penalties? holds, false starts, personal fouls!!??!?! you name it they did it. 4. Thigpen- "hi im here to fumble punts and when i do return them i get 10 yards at best and just run out of bounds." Why not let the janitor field the punts? he could fumble and run out of bounds too. 5. Felton, thanks for your two blocks today, and 2 false starts where you lean forward like a high school player...but again at least he blocked a guy today, or maybe he just false started right at the right time and fell into the defender. who knows! 6. Rex, we give the jets our old weak armed qb, they are 8-5, we get their fired but charismatic coach, we are 6-7, (btw was this our 3rd or 4rth 15 penalty game?) 7. Could Woods fumble more as a Bill please? hes done this too many times. Oh and could Hogan catch more balls and go out of bounds like he doesnt understand what feet and sidelines are for? He does this once a game. 8. Tyrod...my god, i would love tyrod but for this. Why throw deep low % balls on third and 3...but scramble for it on third and 14? He threw a ton of long balls to double or well covered guys on third and short, then when he did scramble on long downs, he doesnt go for the first. yes he did have 2 scrambles for firsts but also 3 or 4 where he just didnt dive or stretch for more. Once he kitty slid with 1 yard to go...the defender wasnt even close and this was at the end of the game!!! Do I even start with his not throwing down the middle? He hit a couple nice ones in the first half...but when its third, he just wont throw the easy pass to a crossing route...nope...HES GOING DEEP!....and incomplete. Tyrod is cool and collected, but is he smart enough to get the easy first and give himself 4 more downs? 9. Sammy-ill keep it short. he had a nice wide open deep ball, caught it, then dropped the first and only 50/50 ball, dropped the other two passes where he faced the qb, caught the two passes nicely that had him going out of bounds, one armed another deep ball that had a safety coming over, . Caught 1, yes 1 pass that was inward facing...he went down without fighting hard, it was 3rd and seven, he got a whole 4 yards...wow the running skills! this is why is yac is lowest in the league for a number 1...or 2...or most 3's....can you say- doesnt want to take a hit? I love the Bills but this team is leaderless and the smartest guy (Roman) is playing with some brain dead athletes and Rex. Rex got rid of guys with brains ( Fred, Kiko) and with K Williams out, its down to a bunch of undisciplined loud mouths who gave the game away.
  5. Sorry but the biggest problem is rex ryan, THose other coaches actually are good, they just had low talent levels. Rex ryan is making a good team bumble its way down to an 8-8 record, his record is 500 for his career, his bravado will slowly kill this team as good players end up leaving when we hit rock bottom next year...or the year after that.
  6. lol look for my next one after watkins pulled off the usually softy challenge today....one armed a pass, dropped all passes thrown facing inwards, except one, where he fought for a whole 4 yards, on third and 7. lost the one 50/50 ball he had thrown his way. Was great on wide open and sideline type throws though!! as usual.
  7. just so you know, we dont win or get anyhing when some receiver reaches a thousand yards. Its a totally worthless stat that can fool people into thinking someone is good while ignoring other important stats, like drops, ypc and yac...the real determinants of a quality receiver. Heck one of the worst receivers to start for the bills had 4 1000 yard seasons, barely.
  8. woods is a great number 2 and has 3 years of proof, he doesnt get many chances nowadays and he blocks like a madman to boot. Harvin was another number 1 who gets hurt every year and becomes a number 0. All the other problems in the offense stem from one thing. NOT THROWING DOWN THE MIDDLE... hence no clay, no rack yards. and not as many easy third down conversions. Watkins is the reason screens arent called and balls dont go for rac yards as well, hes afraid to stay on his feet after the catch.
  9. not when its the running back...think willis mcgahee versus the jets when vilma was there!!!!!!!!
  10. yes that middle in-route was nice....and he caught it!!! He does need more targets, and he is finally (thanks to my posts) catching passes while facing towards the qb. Now if I can just convince him to stay upright and run after the catch....
  11. i say put in an incentive where he makes $100,000 for every pass completed down the middle of the field. At the end of the year the most we'll have to give him for that would probably be ....$100,000
  12. Rex actually said this the other day after the chiefs loss when he said, "no more mulligans" I didnt know why he would just share personnel decisions with the media first like that. Anyway how can they cut the strongest guy on the team the week after he went light speed to free up Clay for the winning TD???? what gratitude!
  13. how? a crucial third down drop in a tie game with only minutes left?? Not a playmaker at all, had his hands positioned the wrong way, why? To make sure he could brace for the hit from the safety he looked at right as he dropped it. He let another important ball get intercepted against the giants when it was right in his hands. Tipped up another for a pick in a game this year that hit his hands (a game we lost) Catches third down passes for 1 yard and goes down for a gain of....1 yard. Did that quite a bit this year. Clay plays much smaller than his size would have him appear. His last catch was definitely an easy one. No safety and taylor hit him right in stride. who wouldnt have caught that?
  14. Dont worry it will happen. I hope your dads heer to watch it with you...if not ill come by.
  15. Oh i hope not...he sucks. Watch him against the run. Oh and 3 sacks. Ooooooh! And look how clean his uniform stays....j.t.watt. now thats a d lineman.
  16. Cool bra....maybe trent edwards still had a chance to be a good quarterback too.
  17. Lets see I seem to remember a great, pro bowl quality player whos team let him down with offenses rated ahem...25th, 28th, 30th, 30th, 25th and 30th in his first six years, with the likes of number 2 receivers to keep double coverages at bay like...josh reed...roscoe parish... an old TO and Moulds in his last season, being run out of town for being "one dimensional". In his worst season as a bill before injury shortened seasons, he had only 44 catches and 612 yards ....but 7 touchdowns! Its like all he did was go deep and haul in TD's! What a D!ck! He was cast aside when a much better all-around receiver emerged as everybody here's real Number 1 go to guy-Steve Johnson (its not stevie), a guy who couldnt catch a deep ball, run fast, make a game winning catch, show some class, or even stay healthy as long as Evans had before a bunch of hamstring issues derailed what was...a highly over-inflated career. Now hes had a couple years of proving himself a true number 3 or 4 guy as he plays at an average at best level. Remember how most of you here defended him? Not me. So now we have Watkins, a guy who doesnt even stay upright at the nearest sight of a defender. A guy who wont go up hard for a deep ball. Carefully catching only the most perfectly thrown passes. Hes great at deep balls, when there out in front of him. But wasnt evans? Watkins is great ill say, at catching balls near the sideline too, making some nice toe tapping first downs. Remember the vikings TD? He was heading safely out of bounds. How about the instant replays this year? All on the right sideline, all with him falling down, heading out of bounds. He is a fantastic receiver, as long as theres a way for him to make a nice safe catch, and go down, or out of bounds, or out the back of the endzone. Put him in the middle of the field or near footsteps , and ball just doesnt stay in his hands. I remember many a catch Evans made, going up strong for highly thrown losman passes, skinny posts, crossing routes even. Beating Revis for tds, not once but a few times. Evans went up hard, and he weighed a good 20 pounds less than watkins. Speaking of Watkins, are all the screens this guy was supposed to excel at? Why dont they throw any to him? Do they know already hesnot willing to run them? Wheres all the rac yards? he has almost none. All his yards are through the air. Hes a deep ball catcher now, like the one evans was but not as good, and not nearly as physical, and already more fragile and injury prone. Is he- shudder-one dimensional??? looks that way. I dont remember evans costing 2 first rounders but how he was maligned on this board. Andre Reed had respect for taking short passes over the middle to the house. Yet people still cant seem to grasp the truth about sammy the softy...or is it sammy the kitty? I havent decided yet.
  18. so after having my post locked and a bunch of people who cant read knock my post because watkins went for 150 yards and 2 tds, the fact remains Watkins Plays soft. Lets see, i noticed (after getting 9 targets) sammy let 3 balls go through his hands. Yes he caught a couple deep balls, but on one he stupidly stopped to push the db out of bounds with the endzone 10 yards away and no one left to stop him. ANother he dropped down as the safety arrived rather than fight for yards. The two tds he caught he dropped down on a PERFECTLY thrown pass to his hands in basket catch position. This wasnt a 50/50 ball. it was perfect and the two announcers used that word themselves to describe that pass. He dropped the second deep ball his way which passed through both hands for no reason...except the safety was coming over. He had 3 misses like this against NE but one got called for PI, he ADMITTED after the game that the coaches told him "you gotta go back for those" he ADMITTED doing it on the third deep ball. but my question is...shouldnt an nfl starter know how to play football by now? He had to learn in his 25th nfl game how to go back and fight for a ball? The only play that sammy made that remotely resembled a 50/50 ball was the second td. What bothers me is that he didnt turn to high point it, but instead found a way to basket catch it above the DB. it was pretty, but far from out-muscling the other guy. Sammy just wont turn and put his hands toward the ball. He tries to catch everything facing downfield. And he drops down like a baby after every catch.... unless hes already in the endzone. FInally, the second half tyrod threw an important 3rd down pass his way on a crossing pattern. Sammy had to turn and face tyrod, and with a db coming in from the middle, the ball passed right through both hands again. That was his only target the second half, but shouldnt the fourth pick in the draft be able to catch a fast ball when the games on the line? not sammy, He came up small when the game got close....that or the safety. If you dont agree, sorry your wrong the highlights and replays are there to see the evidence along with countless stories last year about how he underperformed, even a couple criticizing his "out of frame" catching skills.
  19. maybe if we stop hiring losers(williams, malarky), idiots(philips, ryan), aholes(mauron), and milqtoasts (jauron) as head coaches, we might actually win again.
  20. could "softy sammy" ever catch a ball in traffic? he let a few deep ones go unchallenged in NE, he let one go right through his hands in arrowhead today He also fell down on purpose on the first catch he made today. He didnt have to, he caught it clean but saw a tackle coming so he went down on his own. He did that against miami on the same long throw, dropped to the ground before contact....right in front of the endzone....so we get a FG instead, thanks for "dominating" He acts like hes "taking on" the tackler. the truth is hes going to the ground early and hes done this since his first game as a Bill. He also couldnt make the catch in traffic again, like last week against the pats, he let 2 balls go by without slowing down or jumping up to high point them. He only goes for the wide open perfectly thrown passes. He sticks his arm out though. Dominating! He just let the deep sideline pass on the right side go through both hands against KC. Why? a safety was near. He is a big KITTY. More than Orton ever was on a qb slide. The opposite of beast mode, who actually "dips" down on players in order to keep running. IM sick of SOFTY SAMMY. If you doubt this. take the softy challenge. To win you have to 1. stick your arm out, but never jump up and high point a deep pass 2. make a catch and instantly "challenge" the tackler by lowering pads to a level so low, youll fall down whether contact is made or not. 3. say youll dominate next year and that this year it was due to injury that you didnt dominate.
  21. be nice if hed made the last one rather than picking his foot up on this one just enough to tap his toe...out of bounds!
  22. sammy let another deep ball go through his hands since a safety was near. hes a big kitty as usual.
  23. i know like i knew all the other things a year or so earlier than everyone else here. You also said palmer was the only qb "let go". warner and breese werent "let go"? we could have had some real qb's by now. Sorry i hurt your feelings about tyrod, in a year when you agree with me lets agree to have a formal apology and admission that you were wrong. Oh and palmer won alot, alot of these things called "games" . which is how you make the playoffs. Tyrod cant seem to do even that. wow just wow is right, what a ridiculous thought, keep investing more and roster spots on mental midgets with big arms or fast legs. great idea!
  24. everytime an old qb is talked about nobody wants them, like theyre all already over the hill. This was said by many people here on the board of... Kurt Warner Drew Breeze Philip Rivers Carson Palmer and even, Ben rothesberger...when he was having his problems. yet people wanted VICK! because he was younger i guess? well alot of those old guys actually played in or won superbowls. How did Vick turn out? I see now Carson is still a top qb 5 years after leaving cincy and being a has-been. Guess Arizona doesnt mind superbowls with old QB's while we miss the playoffs every year waiting for "the guy" I think that id take an old qb for 2-3 decent years of football, rather than sink or swim with the next rookie. Please figure out a way to get a quality qb next year oh dearest management. I can already see Tyrod will never be a top qb. Never. A good back up though. If we need to give away Mario to get it it done then by all means, I wont miss him not playing the run. Or him not getting his uniform dirty.
