  1. I'd rather a spring leauge. From a fan's perspective at least, if it was televised, it would give me football to watch other than the God Awful Indoor Football League. (Side note- I refuse to say AFL, because those initials are reserved for the original American Football League.) Also, they could still participate in NFL Training Camp/Practice Squads. This is interesting though.
  2. I'll admit that I hate soccer, but I have a serious question for those who are defending soccer. I do find soccer boring. But when the Blizzard were here, and played the indoor game, that was fun. It was high action, fast paced, and high scoring. Similar to watching hockey. Why did the sport not catch on?
  3. Beezid'd be more fun, it only goes up by a 1¢ per bid.
  4. They're slowly but surely moving away from him. The brought in an alternate logo a few years ago, that was just the letter C. This year they made that that the official logo, only wearing a small patch on their sleave, and a hat on alternate days.
  5. I'm pretty sure if everybody on TBD chipped in just a few hundred thousand dollars, the price of one Starbucks franchise a day, we can take a good stab at it.
  6. The most important thing Pegula did was keep the Sabres in Buffalo. He's not a hockey guy, and admit that from day 1. He entrusted all on ice decisions to his hockey people. Unfortunately, the hockey people in charge were the ones that messed it up. But as I've said before, I'd rather a losing football team in Buffalo, than a winning one in Toronto.
  7. I don't have the cash just yet, but I do have a letter stating that I might already be a winner. In an unrelated question, anybody want to subscribe to Accounting Monthly?
  8. Well if they didn't breathalize him or give him a field sobriety test, or some way to prove in court that he was drunk, it would help his case I guess.
  9. But if this thread dies, where will we discuss the topic as important as the name of a team that we play once every four years?
  10. In. Can someone tell me when we became a Redskins fan board?
  11. But can they sell there Own right they're outside The stadium Their crazy if they dont.
  12. But he makes some good points. Plus, the first one talked about the US Patent office, this one talks about the US Trademark office. Completely new topic. Even made sure to capitalize New Shirts, and The stadiums, and made sure redskins wasn't. A new and innovate take on the subject.
  13. In. Before it gets closed, is this supposed to be some sort of poem?
  14. Honestly, if they changed the team, they might make more money. Look at when the Sabres rebranded to the slug. Despite the fact that we all thought it was the ugliest thing we've ever seen. We all rushed out to buy anything we could on them and we were the best selling jerseys in the NHL for two years. If they announced that they're gonna change the name, in say, two years, once the uproar dies down, and a PR brainwashing campaign, they'll slowly come to love the rebranding. So you're a ranbow farting Klan member?
  15. When he gets out, can OJ come back as a coach?
  16. Should they have named the team Redskins? No. However, if you were to ask the general public, about two years ago, before this debate was brought up, what they think of when they hear Redskin, they'd prolly all say the football team. Point is, the meaning and connotations of certain words change over time.
  17. This may have been posted somewhere already, but it seems appropriate for this original thread on the Redskins team name. http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CB0QFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.sportspickle.com%2F2013%2F10%2Fideas-for-washington-redskins-name-by-your-uncle&ei=YsehU-f8B8epyASRkYHACQ&usg=AFQjCNFufMoFNlIBdu40JP85LNhY7eSrHA&bvm=bv.69137298,d.aWw
  18. I first just want to thank you for a very serious post. Too much monkey buisness goes on around here. Second, as other posters pointed out, we are now in the Williams era. However, if we sign a player named DJ Williams, My had may explode.
  19. I was watching the movie Fever Pitch the other day. If you haven't seen it, it's about the life of a Red Sox fan through their 2004 seasion. He makes this speech, and it reminds me of the Bills. With the Bills, every Sunday, for three hours of my week, the worst thing that can happen to me is the Bills lose. All of my financial, health, work, problems are set aside. I spend quality time with my friends and family, win or lose.
  20. Exactly. This year I had more fun at the end of the year when the games didn't matter, because I was just there for fun. Also the Toronto ownership already owns the Leafs and Raptors, who are getting better, but they're not exactly powerhouse teams.
  21. As much truth as there may be in the article, I'd rather have a losing team in Buffalo, than a winning team in Canada.
  22. Hell, if this happens, they hold a special voting session before 2015 and he gets his own ceremony.
  23. At this point, I don't care what his motivation is, as long as it helps us win this year. If he wants to play with us next year, assuming he does well, great. If not, everything I've read says Preston Brown would make a suitable replacement.
