    So keep the question the perspective - the question was not are they winning the AFCE this tyear - the question was - are they better than last year.

     

    There were mindlessly negative comments all over this board the last few weeks insisting that the Bills were in the hunt for the #1 pick, their OL sux, none of the Bills OL could make another roster, Bell is junk, Nix and Gailey are old, we needed Evans, etc. and they had not improved - blah blah blah.

     

    Anyone who was on that side of the discussion either understands they were at least a little wrong now or is in near-psychotic denial at this point.

    I answered. I believe they are better this year than they were last year. So what?

    my winning odds:

     

    Chiefs: 25%

    Raiders: 40%

    Pats: 5%

    Bengals: 70%

     

    total odds of going 4-0 - less than half a percent. optimism is one thing - being irrational is another.

     

    I'd put the Pats at maybe 10% and the Raiders & Bengals at 50%, but otherwise I agree that there is absolutely no reason to believe that the Bills are a lock to win ANY game. Each one of those opponents is looking at the Bills as a likely win, and they have every reason to do so.

    I love how all the attention is focused on NY, DC, Philly, and the North East. But where's the concern for Hampton Roads and the Carolinas? Gonna hit here alot harder than up there. Or do you just not care about Redstaters?

     

    Yes, it looks like the Outer Banks will get hammered by Irene. We were just in Kitty Hawk at the beginning of August on vacation. :(

    I think the one key like others have mentioned is you need to get right with a customer retention rep, otherwise you will not get a good offer from Direct TV. In my case I told them I was canceling my service entirely, not just Sunday Ticket. This I believe got their attention and started with an immediate offer for 1/2 price Sunday Ticket. It only took me mentioning that I knew of others who received it for free to get them to offer it to me. There is always a chance they could call you if you are bluffing, but I had the offer from Time Warner in front of me which I read to them and I was fully prepared to say goodbye after 9 years if I didn't get a good offer. According to the rep I talked to they have budgets that they are allowed to work within depending on your customer rating, so if you've been a long time loyal customer there is no reason that they shouldn't work with you to get a good deal.

    Good to hear. I called a few weeks ago and got what I thought was an insulting offer given I have been a 9 year loyal customer and reading what people have been saying they got on here. I'm calling back and going the full service cancel route. I only have direct tv for Sunday ticket anyway and I will cancel the whole shebang and go with Time Warner if they dont give me a good deal. Times are tough, need to drive a hard bargain!

    Didn't get as good of a deal but still pretty good (dude said that since we were not calling to cancel, certain deals were not available): 6 payments of $53.99 but $10 off each month for next 12 months, plus threw in "To GO" feature for free. Not bad. Thanks for others for posting!

     

    I got that same offer too a few weeks ago and I thought it was ok, but the the rep made the mistake of telling me I was due that discount anyway even if I canceled Sunday Ticket. I didn't bite and told him that I'll call back later. Now it looks like the better deals are out so maybe I'll give them a ring tonight.

    I got this email as well and will drop the mail in DVD option. I stream to PS3's on DSL and don't have any problems. In fact many of the movies on the PS3 stream in HD just fine. Amazon Prime video streaming is great too but need to do that by laptop connected to TV.
