  1. I did not realize Jones was demoted, mid game. A good sign, to me, that Beane will not stand still on these last two trade days. Jones was supposed to be our best run stuffer..
  2. Did everyone see the footage after the kick, with Martin repeatedly kissing Bass on the sideline? Like he was kissing his son after a great accomplishment. Great to see, and that, along with Josh breaking down a little speaking about it after the game, showed me why this team is so consistent--and so good for so long. And makes me believe they can win it all this year. With Bass nailing another game winning field goal, but this time in the 2nd quarter, please!
  3. When in the game was it? The CBS announcer, Harlan?, said it today after he made the 61 yard field goal to win the game.
  4. great minds think alike! Posted mine and then saw this right above it. It is an omen, or whatever a positive word for omen may be.
  5. Just checked... Ted Washington is only 56. Not sure if he can even walk anymore as he played 17 years, I think, and until he was almost 40. But even if not, the Bills can get a (giant) wheel barrow, and just wheel him out there, dump him on the line, and he will stop the run. Then wheel him off again, etcetera. I think I saw Mike Tyson is fighting someone again, and he is 58.
  6. Yes, possibly, as far as Lawrence is concerned. But at 32, the Bills will not give up much to get him. I have zero confidence Milano will add anything this year, as it will be almost two years since he has played. Cannot cross our fingers and hope--that is what weak teams do. But, of course, Milano at full strength would be a grrrreat surprise to end the year.
  7. Do you think that the Bills are of the same mindset, that this is a need, not a want? And so that they are seriously considering players like Joseph-Day and others? Gotta keep improving, eliminating weaknesses. I cannot imagine Beane or McDermott being satisfied with this as it stands and only hoping for the best--and not believe that this may be a missing link right here, right now. Great! Hope you are right. And the good thing is, as far as a trade is concerned, that we only have to wait a short time to see what they do.
  8. I am going with "right decision"!! The guy is 16 for 16 on kicks to tie or win a game. I did not realize that until today. Those are decent odds, don't you think?
  9. Well, I think he is worth a shot. Seems to improve defenses when he shows up, surprised that the Ravens let him go. Process smoshess, time to win it all. A 5th! They should consider him. It would be great to have an option like that in this team, as they do not now.
  10. Overall, I agree. That is why I say they have to get someone, or we will be lamenting that they did not do so this season. Great teams do that, they don't just stand pat and hope for the best.
  11. Yes, I agree with you and most are saying so far, especially this point, but it seems the Bills finally must get that one disruptive guy on the D-Line who can break an offense. It will help eliminate this weakness, to some degree, even on days like this when they focus on stopping the big pass plays. If the Bills were to make a move, who could it be?
  12. yes, of course we all remember last week... But we will also remember today for a while and the domination by the Ravens. To me, it does not make sense to just close our eyes and hope for the best. Not what teams like KC do. And I think that is true of Beane and the Bills too.
  13. But if they had a dominant type player in the box, a big guy who can take on two blockers?, don't you think that can make a difference? If all goes as planned the Bills may meet the Ravens again in January. Or the Lions in February...
  14. This can be a championship team. But they need some help, more so than some of the other contenders. They must shore up their run defense and at the same time get more pressure on quarterbacks to be a true contender. Seems a little negligent if the Bills do not do this in the next two days. They may really struggle against the best quarterbacks and run games if they don't get some help. The Dolphins' offense had their way with the Bills today. The Bills could not stop the run or get pressure on Tua. Great win today, because they pulled it out, going 7-2. But also because it was a canary in the coal mine, a warning to the Bills' leaders of what they need, right now, to take the next step. Do you agree that this is not a luxury item, but a need? And who is a likely target? Is it a defensive tackle or end? The time is now, I think.
  15. Bills 44, and the squished, squished 17 Lotsa running, with all of the backs getting in on the action, with both Davis and Cook getting 100 on the ground--and more in the air. But the Bills also having some fun in the air, with some big numbers there too. Keep getting Knox involved, as he fits in so well with the physical nature of the Bills.
  16. I kind of pity the squished ones, as it is clear they are desperate, just throwing this out there to get some kind of traction for a game in which they will have none. They will not get under Allen's skin. But I think the Bills are under Tua's permanently. Can you imagine his mindset as he is about to play this now even more physical Bills' team again? Maybe it will make them feel better after the significant beat down they are about to get (once again) at the Ralph in two days? But I don't think so, as it will effectively end their season.
  17. His fountain of youth will be his imminent retirement, after this year is over. Yes, he will do the inevitable, leave the team and nation waiting on pins and needles (no one will care) as long as he can, as no one loves attention more, but it is coming. You can see it in his face, eyes, body language, and after every hit, interception, bad play--and loss after loss after loss. Hoping for a Texans win tonight, even though we should be rooting for the jets.
  18. Yeah, I had to rewind parts to see if I was imagining how loud the fans were in support of the Bills at several points in the game. Surprised me--it was in Seattle! The complete domination, and the fans' reaction, made me even more proud to be a Bills fans, and for the first time this year had me thinking that this team may now be a very legitimate championship contender. And if the past few years are a predictor, they will now just keep getting better.
  19. Is your name Jimmy and does your last name start with a P? I ask because when we were (bad) kids, my siblings and I would sometimes try to sell odd things around the house, such as toys that were broken or never used anymore, etcetera, to make some money. There was a rich kid across the street and a few doors down, Jimmy P., who would often want to buy some of our junk. He had no conception of money it seemed, and likely could not count very well, even though he was older than us. He would hold out a hand full of quarters to pay for a few marbles and an aggot, and ask, "Is this enough?" We would graciously accept his offer and ask him he wanted to buy some more. He would run home, happy as can be, and come back with more money for his next purchase. It was a good summer. Jimmy?
  20. No, I did not say you said those things you say above, but that you still saw something in them a few weeks ago that made you think they may still come through. rodgers was always an almost a complete, absolute obstacle to the jets' success since the day he was brought on board. I hope he comes back next year for another go round!
  21. What about now? Change your perspective on the jets yet? Dumpster fire yet, or still think they may come through? To clarify: not a literal dumpster fire, as that would not make sense!, but I meant a wrecked, dysfunctional team, led by one man at the QB/OC/GM/Head coaching positions who has no leadership qualities at all. In fact, the anti-leader, someone who would probably run a good middle school football team into the ground too if put in charge of it, let alone an NFL team. To me, their team's destruction was inevitable since the first moment theysigned rodgers. I said so on here, and that the Bills would have one less AFC East team to be concerned about now that the jets made that awful decision to turn the reigns of their team over to this head case.
  22. Bills 24, Hawks 13 But have seen almost nothing of Seattle this year and had this game as possibly a loss before the season. Bills run to set up the pass today? Need to get Davis and Johnson more involved in the offense now, to take the next step, and both running and catching. Use your weapons, like Detroit uses theirs. More passes to Cook, please! And outside runs. Get this fast elusive man in space more. And hope to see more screen passes again. Get Knox involved today, or please just trade him this week.
  23. Yup, agreed, hoping this is the case. I have said the same thing on the bizarre and humorous thread implying/stating that the trades in Cooper's career were a canary in the coal mine that the Bills should take serious heed of, instead of the game changing player he is. And has proven himself to be, even over the last two years, with much lesser QBs throwing him the ball than Josh Allen: 150 catches, 2,410 yards, and 14 TDS. If he does that for the Bills over the next few years he may silence even the Beane and McDermott haters. (Okay, that won't happen. But it will be fun to see them falling over themselves to come up with new, creative things to trash them over!)
  24. Hmm, I had never thought about that, that Cooper's weak attitude toward the game, not taking it as seriously as other top players, not being as passionate, "may be associated with more losing than you'd expect given the talent on the teams'" he's been on. I was surprised to read that actually. I had thought that Cooper's teams, especially the cowgirls and Browns were at least fairly successful when he was on them. And I had also thought that his own statistics during much of that time were excellent. And also because he made three Pro Bowls with those two teams, and two with the Raiders. I am shocked to find out that he may have actually been a catalyst in those teams' losses, rather than in the success they may have had. Well, he was likely their #1 wide receiver on those teams, so it does make sense that if he did poorly, the teams would too. I think I am starting to agree with the criticism of Cooper by the very few doing so in this thread, as I am learning so much about him. It is shattering my my previous perceptions and attitudes about the guy. Just a few days ago I would have rated the trade for Amari Cooper as a 8-9. But now I have moved that down to a 2! Oh, well, maybe another receiver will become available before the draft deadline.
