  1. This is what my colleague passed along. The same colleague was on point about the name change from the Ralph to New Era Field last year prior to it becoming public. Pegula does not get along with the governor of NY State due to the whole fracking thing. With that said, the Pegulas are leaning towards not asking the State for any assistance in financing a new stadium. If their investments pay off in the near future in certain fracking/oil friendly states then they will most likely cut a check to pay for it themselves. If all goes well then look for the new stadium talk to pick up in 2018-2019. No link. Just passing this along. Take it for what it is worth.
  2. I posted this in another topic. This is their team and they want their legacy all over it. Pegs will decide in 2018-2019 whether or not they will build a stadium in downtown Buffalo. The decision depends on many things with one major item being a business deal that could net him a few more $$$. New Era has the first right of refusal on naming rights for a new stadium.
  3. All references to Ralph Wilson Stadium are being removed. It will be known as New Era Field, not New Era Field at RWS. Deal is at least $5 mil a year.
  4. New Era Field will be announced around the 17th- 18th. 6 year deal. The Pegs will decide in 2018-2019 whether or not they will build a new stadium in downtown. If so, Pegs will pay for it himself. If not, they will renovate our current stadium. Signs are already going up in the stadium. It will take a at least a year to complete the transition but most of it should be done by opening day.
  5. With Pegs. Maybe a 6-8 year deal. I'll check back once I get more info.
  6. New Era Stadium or New Era Field to be announced soon. The naming rights begin this year. Should be a long term deal.
  7. How big of a banner are you talking about? We secured a slip at Burhnam harbor for the game and I will proudly display the banner on our boat.
  8. Ok, so maybe the topic was misleading. Either way they got the benefit of the doubt on two occasions.
  9. I used to live on Lincoln in bewteen the two but closer to Delilah's so I favor Delilah's. It's hard to beat a whiskey dive bar that is home to Bills fans.
  10. First topic post ever and the trolls haven't let me down. I now feel part of the twobillsdrive communtiy. Thanks.
  11. I wanted to share this story now that the Draft is finally over. My buddy and his wife recently welcomed a baby girl into their lives. He's had a steady flow of family visit over the last few months to help him out and spend time with their daughter. One family member in particular is his uncle, a retired NFL referee. His uncle started off in high school, stepped up to the Big Ten and then made it to the NFL. He has had a quite the career. He stills has a full time job and is a consultant to a Big Ten Program. I made it a point to stop by his place when said uncle was in town. Selfish? Yea, but how often do you get to talk to a retired NFL referee. My buddy always brags about how many Super Bowls he has attended in his lifetime thanks to his uncle. Anyway, I get there and realize it wasn't the forum to talk about his job but someone else decided it was. I can tell his uncle was not interested in talking about the NFL so I sat there and enjoyed a few beverages. One question I did hear was "what college and NFL coach did you strongly dislike?" His college coach was Bo Schembechler from U of M and his NFL coach was Marty Shottenheimer. Reason being is that both of them would constantly yell, but would make it personal. Fast forward to a few weeks ago. My buddy and few of our friends were hanging out and we are talking about his trips to the Super Bowl. He then told us all this story about one particular Super Bowl he attended. It was Super Bowl XXXVI in New Orleans. Pats vs. St. Louis. Adam Vinatieri kicks the winning field goal on the last play of the game with only :07 seconds left (more on this later). After the game my buddy joins his uncle and the rest of the officating crew for drinks. They are sitting there talking about the game when Paul Tagliabue stops by to commend the crew on a great game and makes a comment about how they got the right call on a key first down or a key turnover or return or whatever. The commissioner leaves and then this comment is made or something eerily similar: "Man, we did get that right but I'll tell you something. There was a blatant holding on that field goal (that won the game) and I wasn't going to call it because I wasn't going to be known as the guy that called a holding call on the last play of the game." My buddy is dying laughing as he says this to us as we all look on in disbelief. The other comemnt made was in regards to the :07 seconds. Before the kick was made, it was decided that no matter what the clock would run out. No matter what! Instructions were given to slow down the good or no good call to let the clock expire. They didn't want the shenanigans of laterals and such at the end of the game. My buddy went on to say that the NFL became aware of this and instituted a rule for the maximum time allowed for a field goal. I believe the time is now :05 seconds. Take this story for what it is worth. I believe my buddy and I've actually met his uncle. Go Bills.
  12. Remember when this was never funny 3 years ago? His draft stock is slipping. http://bustedcoverage.com/2014/05/08/taylor-lewan-mustache-tattoo/
  13. Try your luck when the tickets go on sale to the public. If you don't have any luck then try stub hub. Luckily I have a coworker with 4 season tickets that he promised me, and my wife has a few connections. It's all about connections here in Chicago. Go Bills.
  14. Chicago for sure! Summer should be here by then. I already have many of friends and family coming in town for the game. Luckily it is a warm weather game. We'll be tailgating at the Diversey harbor followed by a slow journey via boat to Burham harbor close to Soldier Field. On another note, don't go to Detroit.
  15. Bathroom attendants! We all know that the bathroom situation at the Ralph blows, but what helps here at Soldier field, United Center and Wrigley are bathroom attendants that "enforce" the enrty and exit of the bathrooms. One way in and one way out rather than a free for all trying to get in. I personally think the player entrance to the field is kinda weak. The portable fire shooters or sparkler machines need to go. One thing that really bugs me while wathcing the game are all the signs draping over the inner wall of the stadium. Signs such as "byrd's nest" or whatever take away from the solid blue colored wall with our emblem/name. Figure out a better way to advertise the players charitble groups or fan clubs. Please get the Bills to get rid of these signs! The signs look terrible on tv (insert joke about the play on the field).
  16. 9) Summers: And why was he a healthy scratch last week vs Tampa? Goodwin scores if that ball is thrown a little more in front of him. EJ had time but he didn't step into it.
  17. Check down to Spiller on 2nd down would have been the smart play. The 3rd down pass was straight garbage.
  18. Frank Summers was inactive today and Choice was released this week. The commentators stated that F. Jackson and CJ were sporting Choice's old jersey # in practice all week. Then they went on to say that Choice was a popular guy in the locker room and how it is hard to lose a guy like him. Is the locker room upset with the coach because of these moves? EJ was lost to say the least. I thought having Hackett on the sideline was suppose to change all of this but, I guess we got caught up in that BS. He was outplayed by the forest city auto parts guy.
  19. Now I feel like an a**. Last month I attended my buddy's going away party here in Chicago. One of the guests in attendance was the director of security for the Bears. I started talking to this guy about the Bills and he told me that Bon Jovi wanted to buy the Bills. I brushed him off at first and assumed it was the liquor talking, but apprently I was wrong. He went on to say that the NFL really wants Bon Jovi 's group to be an owner in the NFL. I need to track this guy down.
  20. Hopeflly they can give Thad enough time to throw a deep ball. It would be nice to see #88 stretch the field.
  21. I hate to bash a Bills supporter, but Chris Berman is awful. The "pink" is pure marketing by the NFL to attract females fans. Next up for the NFL is camoflauge. Fans of Ohio State and Notre Dame are the worst in college football. Whoever is in charge of playing music at the Sabres games should have been fired in 1995.
  22. Resign Byrd. I only say this while imagining our defense being 100% healthy from Game 1.
