Earlier this week Marcel stopped by my wife's employer. I happenend to be there and was able to overhear the conversations he had with a few people. In summary this is what he said:
- he is a very proud father and lit up with joy when talking about his child.
- the impact of losing his brother is obvious. He said he is still dealing with it and is having a difficult time.
On football:
- He is very frustrated with his own play and is aware of the fans displeasure. He didn't blame anyone and took responsibilty. He is frustrated because he is double teamed on almost every play. He feels like the defensive schemes are geared towards the veterans on the ends and he has to put his time in (not sure what he meant by this). He said the defensive scheme is predictable to opposing teams. He doesn't think the talents of the line are being utilized correcty, specificlly his own talents. He does what he is told to do by the coach and that is to plug the middle for the def ends.
-He said the coaches, all of them, know they are all on the hot seat.
Take this for what it is worth. My take is he is a young KID going through some tough times right now and is frustrated with the defensive scheme. Unfortunately I think it all comes down to his comment about the defense being predictable.
