  1. Yeah, maybe I phrased that wrong. He still doesn't like playing the real games. But like, he plays great in scrimmages and preseason games.
  2. EJ seems to be more comfortable as backup. He gets so stressed as #1.
  3. At one position, sure. Thanks guys for Grippy's info. Will be following his Snapchat.
  4. True, I did not take into account the injuries, although Edelman was previously quite durable. I get your point, but the thesis is based on Hogan being a top-notch receiver. I really don't see him as one, but we'll have to wait and see how he does this year to find out. Sammy is not overrated and we did not force the ball to him. He was targeted 96 times compared to Woods' 80 and Clay's 77. All three missed some time. 96 targets is hardly forcing it. In fact they should have been targeting him more. Sorry, I meant top 4 in rushing specifically. I understand the frustration with Roman on your part and I've heard the same from 49ers fans. I've watched plenty of SF games and I've seen a lot of brilliant gameplanning along with a few puzzlers and duds. We had a lot of injuries last year and a new QB. Let's see what he's got this year.
  5. Roman is a run-oriented coordinator and his offenses have ranked in the top 4 the past four years. I think he actually does a fantastic job of building his scheme according to his players. Look at what he did with Kaepernick in SF. I know his last season in SF was not so good, but there was a lot going on behind the scenes there that I feel may have contributed to their poor performance down the stretch. And last year's stand-out play, the pin-and-pull sweep was tailored specifically for his backs, who move well laterally and can make a quick cut to get down field. Of course, there are games where Roman's plan is puzzling and ineffective. But the scheme is largely built around the offense's core talent, among which Hogan is not. He is a role player. He's a good role player, but he's not somebody you build your scheme around. New England didn't want Hogan because his skill set is game breaking, they wanted him because they can plug him into their existing scheme.
  6. I highly doubt Hogan gets 1,000 yards. Brady spreads the ball around far too much. Gronk was the only 1,000 yard receiver last season and now they have Martellus Bennett to boot.
  7. RB, DT, CB in that order. I think CB depth is good, but if we lose both starters our depth guys likely won't be able to hold the fort, where as with RB and DT, we could lose two guys each and I'd be mostly comfortable with who we've got.
  8. While I agree that some are more down on Hogan than they ought to be, I don't think Roman failed to utilize his skills. I don't know how many more receptions or TDs you think he deserved, but with Sammy emerging and the run game being so strong (Hogan helped in that area too), I don't think we needed more from him, nor do I think utilizing him more would have given us any more wins. The Bills wanted to bring him back, but they obviously need to save money for upcoming contracts and Hogan is replaceable. I think he's good, and he's perfect for the New England offense, much like Edelman. If Edelman went to another team, I'm sure he'd have similar stats to Hogan's last year. True. Also worth noting he was in a non-contact jersey.
  9. Been watching some 2015 games, today I'm watching @Washington. IK is so bad. First drive I see him getting worked by Morgan Moses and then letting Jordan Reed run right by him without chipping him or anything to get him off his route as he rushes the passer.
  10. Sure, they might be the known, but they were in a lot of close games and went 2-4 in the division. If the other teams struggle and New York plays about the same, they can get in with 9 wins is all I'm saying.
  11. Think that might be Walter Powell. Salas is this year's Rambo maybe. The guy we signed late in the season who made a few critical plays in one game and now has high expectations.
  12. The NFC East is hard to predict right now. Can Kirk Cousins keep it going? Can Romo stay healthy? Will all the changes in Philly pan out? It could be a very competitive division and the division winner may only need 9 wins.

  14. He said that's the thinking right now. Awaiting confirmation. There are tests trainers can do on the field to pre-diagnose and ACL tear. I feel like we'd have some idea if it were that.
  15. Let's not get carried away just yet, but absolutely our depth would be an issue if Ragland's season ended. I would think we can kick Manny inside when Shaq returns, though. Alternatively, we can sign Tulloch for vet depth. I don't think it's the end of the world, even if it isn't ideal.
  16. Yep, I remember several instances where a player has torn their ACL but walked off on their own. Hoyer comes to mind from that time Kiko landed on him.
  17. Obviously hoping it's nothing serious, but Zach Brown will prove to be great insurance if Ragland has to miss time.
  18. Could just be a sprain, is perhaps what they are getting at.
  19. That Jameis GIF remains priceless.
  20. I wonder if Schmidt can do kickoffs for us.
  21. I'm not seeing Zach Brown listed.
  22. We have also failed to consider the case where Karlos' suspension ends and he's still overweight. Would be ridiculous, but possible.
  23. We all love Fred, but come on, Thurman was an all-time great.
