  1. It is always tough when you don't have a clear #1. Spending a #2 every year (I know Petty was a 4th) will eventually hurt your depth at other positions. You can only have so many QBs on your roster at one time, and often a QB needs a couple years to acclimate. You may wind up getting rid of a guy too soon without them seeing any meaningful play time. Realistically, you have to find a guy your staff believes in and is willing to invest a few years on. If they are ready to go immediately, great, otherwise you need a stable vet to groom them under. You can't keep cycling through QBs year-to-year.
  2. I love that deal for us as well. We've seen enough to be optimistic, but not enough to go all-in.
  3. I too am looking forward to seeing Cardale out there just to see him sling it a little. I imagine he'll play the whole second half. My focus at this point is basically the whole squad. Every position outside of QB has some sort of competition, even if it's just the depth guys. I'm especially curious to see 1) The OLB play. Can Striker make an impression and can IK make a case to keep him? 2) Who stands out at safety? Duke and Meeks are both athletic, but one has been horribly inconsistent particularly in pass coverage and the other is always getting hurt. 3) WR battle, of course. 4) How will Kujo do at LT?
  4. Must be that TT is looking stellar in camp and they want to get ahead of it rather than wait the year and owe him more.
  5. No celebration flips for Tyrod if true!
  6. Indeed. Which is important.
  7. If you start the season on NFI or PUP, you have to miss the first six weeks. Don't think it matters hows many are on the list.
  8. NFI is different, isn't it?
  9. Not to mention Heyward-Bey and Ginn had good years last year too.
  10. He needs to make the right choice for his future. I love him out there but he's paying for it with his life.
  11. Can we cut him after the first preseason game please?
  12. Concussion obviously still no good for AW
  13. Dude keeps making plays. Don't know how you climb latter though.
  14. Don't think Easley will be able to start the season. Don't hate having only three backs to start the season as long as Karlos is ready to play when his suspension is up.
  15. The Jets' only real strength is the front 3. They have decent pieces otherwise, but the Bills have a better secondary and the Pats have a better LB corps. I love Bowles as a defensive coach, though, and he would be the reason the Jets defense outperforms the rest of the AFCE. I think the Patriots have a solid defense every year. Not flashy, but they get the job done. I guess I don't have a definitive answer here, but if the edge rushers in New York get it done they would be the pick.
  16. This might as well be his nickname.
  17. Vague report. Players get hurt all the time. Reggie's is certainly one of those flukey ones to boot.
  18. Absolutely! Now, if we can talk about how this injury wouldn't have happened if Reggie didn't have to pull up on a hit...
  19. Me too. Frankly, I thought Z. Brown was going to have a chance to start when they first signed him, before the draft. Spikes is great to have back on the roster too. We all though the defense was going to suffer without Kiko too (granted, we did actually get to see him play for a season).
  20. We all thought they weren't good enough when we played them last year, and yet... But to be fair, we absolutely could have beaten them the second time.
