Seth is one mean looking dude. I met him on a flight from Philly to AZ a few years back. In a suit, he still looked menacing.

Looks much better than the clown outfits they wear now. I would change back to the white helmet though. Nice Work.

Revised Super Bowl predictions! Final say.
mary owen replied to Grant's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i'm right there with you. I predicted the Pats as well for today. If it weren't for Brien, my Jets prediction would have come to fruition. As far as this place, I got blasted when I said Ty Law's absence would not be a factor. Someone said i was "incorrect". I never knew an opinion could be wrong before the fact. Pitt will lose to NE this time. I agree that Roethlishdggfkksxghgfdsjgbjer will be perplexed enough to lose. I predicted wrong on Minnesota. I thought they would beat Philly. Philly will not make it. I won't be wrong when I predict ATL this weekend. Patriots 31 Falcons 19 -
i'm late. it's halftime of Jets/Steelers. it's 10-10, so I can still predict. I say Jets 27-24 Falcons 37-21 tomorrow's Vikings 28-20 Pats 27-21

good topic. Game of the Week should win an Emmy, or whatever the hell award they give for TV shows. A throwback show in the NFL Films circa early-mid 70's mold. (The best one was the pre-season Broncos/Bills game which sits firmly in my TiVo keeper list.) I didn't like Playbook at first, but grew to like it. They just got better as the season went on. Surprisingly, I liked Parker the best out of them all. He seemed to be right on allot of times, much more than Sharp and Wilcotts. (anyone ever get hypnotized by Sterling Sharp's eyebrows?? They move like claymation when he talks. Weird. I get a kick out of it.) NFL Replay is great too. A full game, broadcast from both teams' coverage crew, trimmed of long TO's, commercials, Half Time....awesome. Who wouldn't love this???? Total Access to me is the worst show. Even the music reminds me of cheap public access TV. Rich Eisen.......did you ever think of him when you thought about the NFL? Never. And I still don't. He doesn't fit. All in all, I love it. I was always dying for anything Football during the offseason, and now I have it.

...on wet grass. wonder if he needs to check the weather forcast in Pittsburgh before making a decision to start this week. I doubt anyone here would cut Schobel some slack if he were to say the same thing and Buffalo was in the Playoffs. He'd be run out of town.

Louis' Forecast is that he has no effing future in TV. (by the way, i doubt that was real) -
THIS IS GETTING REDUNDANT BUT HERE GOES: "Interesting Herm Edwards nor anyone on the Jets has said one thing about his "heart" but you guys who only read articles on the guy call him out. " you wrote it. also, if all we do is read articles, and i give you a link to one that says it questions his heart, what does that matter? You'll just accuse me again of basing it on an article. but here's on anyway (which I am not basing my opinion on, but to show it is a topic of discussion outside this forum): http://www.nytimes.com/2005/01/11/sports/f...tner=ALTAVISTA1 more: also: http://slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Football/NFL/200.../809163-ap.html more: i defend my position to read between these lines. It'll be interesting to see what is said after the playoffs if the Jets lose.

"you guys who only read articles on the guy" so, you've examinied him and sat with him, have you? "...because everything I've read.."

Yeah! my Gold Point allows me to continue on two feet while I wait for the surgeon to squeeze me into his sched.

well said. I don't like the fact that he's telling Bonnie Bernstein (or whoever) before the game that he doesn't want to risk injury because free agency this offseason promises him a fortune. (he never said the injury was preventing him, but the possibility of further injury....that's the point here.) also, I was pissed when Bruce missed a playoff game because of the flu. Suit up (as you said) because the mere thought of you in the game forces the opponent to game plan for you. come is as a decoy on some pass plays, have two guys come to double you and open up an opp for the other D-linemen to get one on one. It bothers me that some think because he is looking out for himself, he can put the team he is WITH NOW in a bad position. You are still under contract with the team, not the one you MIGHT be with next season.
-
i was only speaking of the learning of this specific style of offense (Pittsburgh conection), not the actual play of BR and JPL. JPL has yet to have the opp that BR has.

Black Sabbath taking into account WHEN it came out. Groundbreaking, much like VH in 78 (?)

funny thing is, I am sitting here at work with a severed ACL (second time) and torn MCL, miniscus damage, and cracked knee cap. No kidding!!! I go for my second knee surgery in 3 weeks. BTW, i've missed 0 hours of work. But I'm not an NFL player. But that doesn't mean I can't have an opinion on it. I guess you can't have an opinion on Randy Moss mock mooning, because you have never had to deal with the crowd in Lambeau and you never caught a TD in the Playoffs therefore you've never fealt the exhileration of that type of moment.... what else is required of me to give my opinion? I better rethink everything before I post again. C'mon AD.

again, if I'm a GM looking to dump boatloads of money on him, I gotta question his heart and dedictaion to the TEAM/ORGANIZATION first. I'm not thinking about him "doing what's right for him". I'm thinking "he didn't go in the playoffs....THE PLAYOFFS!!!"
-
The more I think about what is being said about JPL needing more time to understand the "complexities" of this Offense, the more ridiculous it sounds to me. Think about Ben R in Pitt. Aren't they running pretty much the same offense? I doubt Wisenhunt changed much from what MM was doing. BR got thrust into the starting role, so he was even less prepared to grasp the Offense. The Bills put this O in because it was "easier" for QB's and WR's. Fewer reads, fewer options, etc. (That's another thing that re-affirms my feeling on Bledsoe the Vet being hopeless....he should have kicked major a$$ in this O...but that's a topic that has it's own thread space all over this board ) I realise that Pitt's O-line is better than ours, but JP can't be that far behind BR, or is he? After all, they keep saying he needs time to learn the Offense, nothing about the actual play of the Line. Thoughts?

oh boo hoo. all the more reason for guys like Abraham and today's athlete to play through even more pain. THEY GET PAID A HELL OF ALLOT MORE. AND THE DRUGS ARE BETTER. Plus, with today's advances in science and medicine, the better your chances are of coming back from injury. You mean to tell me Abraham's knee injury is worse than Willis'? RB's use more threatening cuts and impact their joints more than speed rushers do. another thing, back then I'm sure guys like Youngblood didn't have their future's as secure as players do today when it comes to injury settlements and what not. 2 more aspirin
-
two words: Jack Youngblood Two more aspirin!!! http://members.aol.com/_ht_a/therams79/sounds/toz10.wav Broke it in a playoff game against Dallas. Then he played in the NFC Championship and SB. STARTED and played the entire 2 games. suck it up Abraham

he should have put the team ahead of himself with a Super Bowl appearance on the line. If I'm a GM interested in JA, his name just about dropped off my list.

Given time to look back and reflect upon the Buffalo Bills 2004 season, there is one word that can be said about it that hasn’t been used to describe a season of theirs in quite some time. 2004 was exciting. But that’s looking at it as a whole, one piece. Living through the season was another thing. It was a hellish roller-coaster ride with agonizing dips and exhilarating rises. The ending might have been a torturous and painful one for Bills fans everywhere, but I have to say that despite the finale, the ride was worth it. Not unlike the 1998 season, which saw the Bills rebound from 0-3 to make the playoffs at 10-6 thanks to the emergence of Doug Flutie, the 2004 season saw the Bills start off at 0-4 and end at 9-7 thanks to the emergence of a new star. Willis McGahee burst onto the scene to replace an ineffective Travis Henry and led the Bills to a 9-2 record in games he started. Unfortunately for McGahee and the rest of the Bills, in the end they would need a 10-1 record to qualify for the playoffs. Every Bills fan knew that the last-second loss against the Jacksonville Jaguars in the season opener would come back to haunt Buffalo. And it certainly did. But now 2004 is over, the chapter complete, with the ink still a little damp. 2005 is distant on the horizon, but it is coming. August and preseason will be here before you know it. These days are tough for Bills fans in having to watch the Broncos get decimated by the Colts in the first round of the playoffs all the while thinking that the Bills certainly would have done better. But let’s be honest. They, too, probably would have lost to the Colts and we would all be extremely upset right now. At least we got the heartbreak over with, although I will always take a playoff loss over not making the playoffs. You get my point though. I, for one, am extremely hopeful about the 2005 season. Coach Mike Mularkey and company have one year under their belts, and really impressed me in their first season in Buffalo. Now we get to see what they can do with a blank slate and a little experience. There are many things to get excited about in 2005. McGahee’s first full season as a starter, the gelling of a mean and lean defensive team, an emerging elite special teams unit, a better version of Peerless Price in Lee Evans and so much more. The thing is however, I just can’t see this team making it past the divisional playoff round because of one, huge, glaring question mark. The quarterback position. Drew Bledsoe will never lead them to the promised land, that is for sure. As much as I like the guy as a person, with him at quarterback the Bills will always disappoint their fans. With that being said, I fully expect Bledsoe to begin the 2005 season as the starting quarterback for the Bills. If that is the case, the Bills go 10-6 tops. At the most, Bledsoe will personally win the Bills two games. Not good. What’s worse is that the elite teams will take him apart in the playoffs and eliminate the Bills from contention. This is why we must hope and pray that J.P. Losman, somehow, someway, steps it up in training camp and preseason, avoids injury and becomes a legit contender for Buffalo’s No. 1 quarterback status. Make no bones about it, this guy is the future of this team. But with the way the NFL is structured, teams only have a short window with the rosters they assemble. This is a talented Bills team, but the quarterback position is a murky one. Buffalo cannot afford another 9-7 year with all the talent that they have. If Losman can have half the season that Ben Roethlisberger had this year, the Bills will be in good shape. But he must win the job of starting quarterback and do at least the job that Bledsoe did. If he can do that, the Bills will be in good shape, but that is a very big if. The future of the Buffalo Bills is on the line. Hopefully, Losman is a quick learner. -
good calls Rico. You can start next weeks prediction thread. I'm stepping aside.

Henry got the TD in Oakland, the zebra's never raised their arms. As I recall, it was TH tripping over the hashmark, on a third and short carry against NE at home that led to bad things. Bad things like Bledsoe handing the ball off to Seymor. Seymor didn't stumble. I say 10-6 with Willis.

OUCH! Patsie's chances at another Super Bowl

Since when is an opinion (BEFORE a game has actually even occured) incorrect? you'll need to explain that to me
