  1. true story: this 45-ish lady we used to work with was a horse and dog lover, probably literally. Any conversation was about the dog/horse. she would call off for the day; dog was sick. Take off early; Horse was getting groomed. Be very late to work; Dog drank a chemical. etc. Cube packed with pics of the animals and her. Never another human in sight and never mentioned ever knowing one outside of work. Her dog's name was Ruffles. She came into work once with a broken arm. She tripped over Ruffles and fell off her porch. I swear, this is no lie, she would call the dog at lunch time and talk to it through the anwering machine. Well one day she didn't show up. No phone call either. A day later, we found out she died. (not animal related) But anyway, the one dark funny part of this story: our boss, an very quiet old fellow walks in and we told him that she passed away. We were known for joking mercilessly and he expected this was another joke. He comes back quickly as he turned to go to his office "I knew Ruffles would snap one day." as much as we wanted to laugh, no one did......... <crickets>.........you had to be there I guess.
  2. c'mon. i'm sure Walsh, Belichek, and Fox have praised a bunch of losers as well. For JP to get any praise at all from NFL coaches is a nice thing to have happen to the young man.
  3. i'm not rooting for him to fail. I do however have a problem that he had $ in his eyeballs. he didn't have to do what he did. That to me was screaming for the big pay day. Even if you get a modest 3rd rounder contract, that's still a big pay day for a "kid". sorry but I have a problem with greed at any age. Now, he's one year older and he had allot of time to prepare for a faster 40 and didn't. He's still going to make some $ with some club and this league. But he definitely hurt himself and his greed probably cost him millions.
  4. it wasn't broke when they had the white helmets either. Now when they had that silver and blue Detroit look, well things was broken!!!!
  5. not a fan of all the glitter
  6. Excellent. I love the white helmets. The only thing I would do away with in your proposal is the black. Other than that, they would be a sweet upgrade.
  7. he's had enough time. it's like he got up off the couch on Valentine's day, dropped the play station controller, and said "sh*t, i got to get ready for the Combine!"
  8. he's just now crossing the finish line in the 40 http://espn.starwave.com/media/nfl/2005/02..._clarett_ft.jpg
  9. no. they'd never do it "for us". they'd ask a limb or two and they'd get em.
  10. I'm not putting too much stock int their words, but it is just a bit reassuring. (BTW, you forgot about Herm and Marvin's quotes ) it's like a chick that hears someone say they look nice tonight. They may be fat and bloated, but it feels good for them to just hear something positive. We are definitely in limbo...we have no idea how this is going to turn out. If it's a real bad year for JP, we still won't know how good a decision it was to go with him. I think he'll struggle early and get better as the season progresses. Unlike our ex-12 year vet, King of Class, Pauper of Elusiveness.
  11. Fezmid was selling DVD copies at one point, real cheap too. PM him.
  12. that show was "we've got a player on our hands. that man was covered." something to that affect. JP was drilling some bullets in that game
  13. the article almost seemed to be a big (searching for the finger smilie...) F-U to Gruden for his comment. it was nice to see those comments about him and the MM from his peers.
  14. i wouldn't mind seeing us grab him. From what I remember, wasn't Antonio Gates raw in terms of how long he played football? If this guy can give versatility, and has the same body control (from Basketball) as Gates and Gonzalez, why not? But that all depends on if he is a true athlete. I've heard that he is. the risk is there no matter who you pick up in any draft. so who knows.
  15. i say Matthews stays retired. They grab Fiedler for AFC East experience.
  16. i have to agree with you. We are very fortunate this year to have no 1st rounder with a draft this weak. I say we stay at our spot in round 2. We gave enough up last year. BTW, our #1 pick this year will be wearing #7. That's the way I look at it.
  17. how can anyone project two years before a draft occurs? it's a huge waste of one's time.
  18. all i know is that Larry Fitzgerald is on it.
  19. the first link has 2004 mock shown under 2005
  20. you guys are good
  21. http://us.news2.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/ap/...soe_txlm102.jpg JJ: "Awwright, Drew, I'll assume the position.....I'll be doing this weekly come September. By November, my stink star's gonna need the same treatment to tighten things up again that my wrinkly old grille had."
  22. maybe you suck more than you think. don't sell yourself short
  23. he has two first names? that's all i know.
