Largent had Jim Zorn. Zorn is light years better than any QB the Bills have had since Kelly. The only comparison that makes any sense with Moss are his years in Oakland. That is the only place where the QB situation was anything similar to Buffalo's during Evan's tenure here. Yes, Moss really lit it up in Oakland! In Minny he had Culpepper, who in his youth was a terrific passing QB. Again, far far superior to any we've had in Buffalo since Kelly.

Portugal didn't make drugs legal, or dealing them legal. Drug use, and possession of a small quantity has been decriminalized. The drug users still have to buy from suppliers, much of which likely comes from cartels. But if legalizing all drugs were to deal a big blow to the cartels, then then would have to find another way to make money and exert influence. As with the mob, they will find various other illegal (and maybe even legal) ways to continue to do business. And as with the mob, they will get weaker and smaller. I don't think weakening the cartels is the most important reason to legalize pot. It's just a lovely side effect.

First of all, forget Edwards and Fitz for a moment. The Bills picked up BB late in the season last year. If he doesn't beat them out this year, then you have a point. As of now, he hasn't failed here...yet. The Warner comparison is interesting, because GB tried to hide BB on the PS instead of outright cutting him (as they did Warner). Rogers is among the NFL's best and apparently they really liked what Flynn showed. Does this mean they didn't like BB at all? Or, perhaps they thought he needed a bit more seasoning. One thing is for sure, they tried to keep him once the Bills offered him a contract. If he sucked and they thought he was a bust, why make the offer? I have no idea if BB has anything to offer. For the record, neither do you or Albany. The guy hasn't played enough for any of us to know for sure. He has been a victim of circumstance to some degree. But if Chan really is running an open competition, then we should get a chance to see how he compares to our "known quantities" in the next week or two. -
Mine is grown in the backyard of a very nice lady here w/no pets whatsoever. You are in over your head here, Cincy. When is the last time you bought illegal drugs? Dealt with a drug dealer? Saw pot plants growing with your own eyes? Now, are there some pot growers like the ones you describe? Yup. Legalization should put them out of business, or make them legit, pretty damn quickly, don't you think?

I think you are a bust if you have had a chance to play and have stunk up the joint. You aren't really a bust if you are drafted onto a team with other good/great players at the position and don't get a chance to play. They obviously weren't looking for Brohm to be the starting QB right away when they drafted him. Sometimes you have to consider context. -

BB was never a "bust" either. -
Drugs need little marketing for those who want them. You know how drug dealer sell drugs to users? They have them for sale when the user asks. But you are really missing the point. They already deal in those drugs. There simply isn't the market for them as there is for pot. Their pot clients don't die as quickly and don't need to be replaced as often. But if your argument remains that we shouldn't take away drug dealers biggest seller simply because they will find something else to sell, then we have little more to discuss.
-
Not sell marijuana to the USA, for one. They will adapt. They will have to downsize. They will move to other illegal, and less popular, products. One thing that will be taken from them is the easy conversion they now have to get people who buy pot to try other things. If people wanting pot can get it w/o seeing a drug dealer they are less likely to get involved with other drugs. It won't eliminate drug dealing, of course. Nobody claims it will.
-
They are ALREADY selling illegal drugs. And they make the big $$ on the most popular and least addictive one of the bunch. I would prefer they don't make their money selling pot. Your argument seems to be, the cartels will always find something illegal to do/sell illegally, so why bother to take away their #1 product? Great argument you got there, Chef.

They will all be patients soon. Trent doesn't have anywhere near the quickest release in the NFL. -

Interesting stuff, OC. This is the first I have seen of this thread. Let us know when you hear more. -
Yes, the mob started moving into LEGAL activities, as well as expanding their illegal package. But the mob was hurt by prohibition, no doubt. Moonshiners were virtually totally put out of business. (OK there is NASCAR.) If your argument is, there will be unknown and unintended consequences (as there are with any action), well: Duh and yawn. The obvious and intended benefits from legalization almost certainly more than outweigh any possible issues that need to be dealt with should they arise.
-
Yup. Just look at those moonshiners. Oh...wait.

Yes, to be HONEST, he was an elected Senator who ran for the Presidency. To try and parse that down further defeats anything I might call "intellectually honest". -

He IS correct about the Pack matching the Bills offer to keep Brohm, though. After being cut, BB was put on the PS. When the Bills make their offer, the Pack countered to try to keep BB. -
I'll miss Turner Gill. Go Bulls!

That might be among the most worthless/meaningless points I have seen from a good poster, on a Tuesday afternoon, in mid August in a thread started by bfw1234. -

And, as usual (always?) you will be wrong. I'd love to see BB get a legit chance to start. Brown will be #3 at best this year, though. At least to start the season. -

Almost all the pot I smoke is locally grown. Same when I was in SF. Grown by good old American marijuana farmers. Think globally, smoke locally!
