I don't think there is much Meh Love out here. There seem to be those who want an experienced QB, who might steady the offense. if it all goes off the rails, by being a game-manager who can complete a decent % of his (mostly shorter) passes. And be counted on to not totally screw the pooch. Tebow is the exact opposite of what you are looking for if that's what you covet in a backup QB. I admit I thought they had to keep Cassel, as the past two years we have seen what it's like not to have some experience at the QB position. Last year, the Bills had to (or decided to) go get Orton after the season started. I figured it was probably a good idea to have a gameday #2 like Cassel, as he is a guy who probably can get by with fewer reps during the week, and still be OK should TT go down. In the event TT was to miss games, I think EJ is the starter (in my mind) with Cassel still playing that #2 QB role. I still think that is the best option. But if they decide to cut Cassel for the $$---and then get one of the priorities signed--I'm fine with that. But Tebow? Really. There is no place for him, at any price, on the roster.

Perhaps OT? Timmy Graham's Twitter Pillow Fight
The Dean replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
By using the term "rogue" Tim suggested Whaley went out on his own, and without the direct knowledge and consent of the other football decision makers. He should have known (and I believe, definately knew) it would come across as inflammatory and as an attack on the professionalism of Whaley. As a journalist, he should have gone out of his way to either: 1. Make clear the claim came from someone not typically associated with being involved with direct responsibility with regard to the cutting of players, so should be taken very lightly. or 2. Check out the claim before going with the report. That's what a responsible journalist does. This rush to make headlines and get clicks (without fully checking the facts or explaining the questionable quality of the information) is the very antithesis of good professional journalism. You can make excuses for him, but you know this was a sloppy cheap-shot by Graham. Unfortunately, this has become standard procedure these days. And perhaps your opinion is warped by what gets called "news" these days. But it doesn't make it good journalism. -

Me too. Did his playing regress, or did the coaches just not value his contribution? I'm not willing to give Wood and Glen a total pass, but the entire line has to work as a unit. The two guards were abysmal! That kind of throws off the unit and certainly hurts Wood the most. Henderson was a raw rookie working next to a bum. So let's see how shoring up the G-spot works out. So far, Incognito looks to be playing better than his last stint in Buffalo. Doug Legursky is available! -
Edit: now confirmed rumor that Bills will release Cassel

Tebow is available to the Browns now. -

Then again, most anyone they bring in will have missed ALL of camp. At least the Bills' camp. -

Florio's site is also passing the rumor the Seahags are trying to trade Christine Michael. Is it because he has a girl's name: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/09/04/reports-seahawks-trying-to-trade-christine-michael-robert-turbin-to-be-waivedinjured/ -
You don't raise a bar until the guy clears the one below it. But Wawrow is as good as they come for an IP reporter in football, IMO.

I think you are missing how important rhythm, timing and confidence is to a kicker. I'm sure he's healthy enough to kick, but perhaps not completely in-tune yet. And you are right about needing a reliable kicker in 10 days. My money is on Carpenter. And if he's cut, my money is on Carpenter kicking better for his new team than the guy the Bills sign. -

Good luck, Freddie. Glad he is out of our division so I can root for him. But it will be hard at Seattle. That's one smug team. Must be their coach. -

What would you have him say? -
I'm going out on a limb here---but I think she just may be OK. Engineering student. Perhaps reasonably intelligent. DUI, not so great. But she's 20, so let's cut her a break. Here's her mugshot, I think: She probably cleans up pretty good, if this is how she looks in a mugshot. Dad took away her car and she made the best of it. Seems to have a pretty good sense of humor and fun. Maybe a tad crazy. Doesn't priss herself all up when she knows she is being photographed. Didn't seem to make that stupid duck face when being photographed. Actually smiled. Probably would have been just my type when I was younger.

If so, then it is even worse, IMO. We talked about where he could have gotten the info and I think between us, we were right on the money. But if one of those said "Rogue" he should have explained who in the organization would typically have a say in cutting a player---or asked those people in the organization to see if they were indeed in the loop. What you are saying is, right from the get-go, he knew he was helping his source actively slander the GM.
-
No doubt.
-
When he first announced it, I'm not sure he was so clear about who in the organization was left out of the loop. I believe he backed up his "rogue" comment with that information later. If I'm wrong, then I will rethink my statement. Had he been even a half-assed journalist, he would have checked to see if those people actually had any say in the decision. OR Would have made their positions in the organization clear.

Then again, Harvin is very injury prone. As long as you aren't counting on him lasting the season at WR, then it's OK to have him return punts. Personally, I'd like to see a non-starter do it, if possible.

Maybe Timmy could take lessons from Wawrow on how to by a real journalist.

How about a splash of vodka in her Koolaid? -
Tim is saying, he heard what he heard from a source---and reported it. So it isn't his fault. And if someone doesn't trust Tim's sources, they should ignore Tim's reports (good advice, actually). Because instead of, you know, checking out a tip from a source, the way a real journalist might, Timmy went and tweeted slanderous information. But it wasn't, you know, his fault.

Yes. How likely is it the guy who got cut is better than Carpenter? -

The Bills have a reliable kicker. Finding a kicker as reliable or more reliable, is very unlikely. Ha! Apparently. or Marketing. -

If Thigpen lies in the balance, you may be right. Not sure that is who gets the last roster spot (none of us can be, unless Whaley announces it). But just as that could be true, having a worse FG kicker could lose as many, or more, games. No? There is no guarantee one way or the other. I prefer to keep ONE guy as the kicker. Then again, we need the kicker to actually kickoff and make FGs. Sometimes you can't get what you want. -

Rex could make a 2 for 1 deal here. Get a KO guy who isn't quite as good as Gay. A FG guy who isn't quite as good as Carpenter. And save a roster spot. Not sure that actually helps the team win games, but the roster would be more to Rex's (and most people's) liking. -

If I was the HC I would not have used the rhetoric Rex used, if I wasn't ready to back it up. That's just bad management/coaching in my book. Then again, if I was the HC I probably would have been a little less obnoxious after the game. But that's what you get with Rex. An entertaining blow hard. If he can take the team to the promised land, I will learn to love it. But at heart, I can't stand the guy.
