  1. Now penalties on our vaunted special teams. Hopefully not another "pick 6" for Trent.
  2. McGee got beat twice when the receivers adjusted to the pass and he didn't. First on the one in the first quarter down the sidelines, then the third touchdown. Ouch. It's tough when the quarterback doesn't have any true pressure on him. They allowed Rogers to roll out and he had no particular pressure at all.
  3. I guess I'm just a glutton for punishment, but since it's been raining in Tampa I am watching the Bills-Packers game on NFL network. What is disheartening is the way both lines are just getting manhandled. It is a precise repeat of last year. Our pass rush doesn't get to the quarterback. Teams kill us on quick slants. I guess if there is anything positive is the run defense is still adequate, but our blitzes all get picked up. I guess I'm not ready to call it a season, but with the rest of the AFC East with a 3-4 and Brady back, it's not going to be easy.
  4. Seems to be doing pretty well, he's been in there since Walker left and I haven't seen the QB get slammed from the left. Everyone equates him to Jason Peters, a raw talent with huge potential.
  5. D. Bell was doing some serious holding on that last replay.
  6. Not sure if it's the Bears second team on D, but Evans has found some opening. Be nice once T.O. gets back.
  7. What I'm looking forward to is what the Philly fans will do to the PETA protestors outside the stadium.
  8. Geez, what do you for relaxation! Advanced Calculus?
  9. He wrote out his entire speech, so it must have been some "approved" drifting...since his wife apparently helped him.
  10. Couldn't agree more. It may be expensive, but I've had it since 99 and it's great. You don't deal with other obnoxious fans, you can get to the bathroom quick. Here in Florida I can jump into the pool at halftime, etc. Once a year we have an office get together at a bar, so that satisfies my need to get out at least once!
  11. Boy, that is a great point. As someone posted earlier, the season hasn't started yet so it may not play out that way. However, by next year, TO will probably be gone so we'd better hope this retooling of the entire left side pans outs this year...I guess it couldn't get worse than last year. It would seem we're going to be forced this year to pick a LT in the draft, so let's hope the scouting dept doesn't whiff and pick Mike Williams II. They don't have the greatest track record lately.
  12. Oddly enough, I don't think Owens has ever been arrested for anything. I believe the only thing related to lawlessness him was that bizarre drug overdose thing a couple of years ago. He may be the role model for Marshawn, James, Ko, and Donte.
  13. Yes, but the problem is he proved he's not just a back-up good for 10 carries a game....he can start. He may not be a full season starter, but much like a decent backup QB, he can start 3-4 games a year when the starter is injured. I say give him a three year deal with some guaranteed money in it to make him happy. He could get screwed the next couple of years. Heck, we've made some average D linemen rich....Jackson won't hurt the cap at all.
  14. I was at the Tampa Bay Lightning - Buffalo Sabres game last night. At the beginning of the game, they announced Thurman Thomas as the honorary "Let's Play Some Hockey" guy. They intro'd him as the "legendary Buffalo Bills Hall of Fame running back and he was wearing a Lightning game jersey! I remember a couple of years ago when he was at all the Sabres games and professing just how much he loved the Sabres. I believe his buddy was Derek Roy if I'm not mistaken. Probably nothing big, but just kind of odd. I think he has a second house in Orlando and was likely in town for Super Bowl week festivities. I guess when you're invited by a team, you've got to wear their colors. I was expecting something a bit more clever, maybe one of those 50/50 jerseys. Whatever he did, he jinxed the Sabres who has previously won seven straight in Tampa!
  15. This was just Bruce being Bruce. He always tooted his own horn, complained he was disrepected because he wasn't the highest paid guy on the team (I think it was Ted Washington or Paup briefly), etc. However, I don't remember any games he didn't play at the top of his game due to a holdout, gripe, etc, unlike a Jason Peters situation. He always put 100% on the field. Early in his career he was a bit lazy against the run, but starting around 1988-1990, he turned it on.
  16. With his cap number, he's not going anywhere next year.
  17. I was listening to the beginning of the game on the radio and the sideline announcer, John Dockery, was talking to Marv Albert about how this was the wildest he's seen it in a "decade." He threw it back to Albert, who apparently lives in S. Florida, who responded with something to the effect "well, they haven't had a lot to cheer about," commented about how there are lots of transplants here, then changed the subject abruptly. I live in Tampa and while it's not as bad as Miami, it is pretty much a bandwagon town, but I think there is a core fan base more devoted than the Dolphon fan base. While there is a season ticket waiting list in Tampa, the main reason is because a lot of people who bought season tickets just did it to resell them. This is the place which perfected house-flipping, so I guess it's a sign of the times.
  18. You have Matt Millen, then you throw in Keith Olberdung, one of the more disgusting personalities on TV, to offset Costas and Bettis. Not sure what NBC is doing. Maybe they could add in Donohue and Wade Phillips.
  19. Not if you're a NE player, you can even lead with your elbow into the opposing QB's knee.
  20. There's no way any coach would sign a contract like that.
  21. Agreed. I thought the "joke" was so poorly written, it wasn't funny or offensive.
