  1. So who had the best draft, worst draft, best pick as far as value? etc. etc. I am happy with my draft and I think my PIck of McNair in the 6th round was a great value pick. I also feel that R. RIch had a great draft. I think Gary may have had a draft that may draw some scepticism.
  2. I am writing a letter to my alumni association and the booster club - If they fire him now I will buy season tickets for the next five years and donate to the university every year. I was pissed when they hired him and I am pissed every year when they don't fire him! I am besides myself on why he is still coaching anything higher than Pop Warner.
  3. how long do you think the draft will take?
  4. Pasqualoni is still coaching insn't he?! Of course they will suck. As a SU alum, I am not too hopefull as long as he is still coach.
  5. In regards to Evans, remember that more often than not, rookie WR's struggle in their first year or two. There is a HUGE cognitive jump from college to pro at the WR position. So, even if they have the physical talent, there can still be an awkward year of adjustment. (See, Eric Moulds). In fact, it is rare that a rookie WR comes into the league and succeeds. Randy Moss and Anquain Boldin are exceptions. THis last draft class was "the year of the WR," and many of those first round WR's are having similar problems as Evans. This is a case where we have to give him time. HOWEVER, his speed will have to be respected, and that alone will make a difference. He needs to show that he can catch a long ball when the defense shows a lack of respect. IF he can do this a few times in the first few games, then I think we can see some good things from this offense. I think this is how success will be measured for Evans, not by the number of balls he catches, rather by the quality of them in the right situations.
  6. The draft is today and I can only make it for the first hour of the draft - will the computer automatically pick from my list afterwards? Or does this cause a problem?
  7. i would do it so long as it is free and I can make the draft
  8. Yeah, i struggled with a choice between troupe and watson. It came down to which team they played on. Troupe plays for the titans who LOVE throwing to the TE, while the NE system spreads the ball all over the place. So my thinking was that Troupe would get more opportunities, especially around the endzone.
  9. I just draft my first keeper leaguye team. It is a 12 team league with an 18 round draft. What do you think? - - T. Green, kc 7th round - - RB C. Portis, 1st round - - RB T. Henry, 2nd round - - RB C. Martin, 6th round - - WR H. Ward, 3rd round - - WR J. Smith, 4th round - - WR J. Porter, 5th round - - TE D. Clark, 13th round - - PK J. Brown, 17 round - - Def Redskins 18th round Overtime QB D. Carr, Bench Players - - QB J. Losman, 15th round - - RB S. Jackson, 10 round - - RB L. Jordan, 12th round - - WR B. Lloyd, 8th round - - WR Reggie. Williams, 9th - - WR K. Johnson, 11th - - TE B. Troupe, 16th round
  10. this is a no brainer - Vick is one of the best fantasy Qb's in the NFL. ALso, Green's WR's are dropping like flies. Start Vick until the stats say otherwise or he breaks a leg again.
  11. Please Anyone out there know of how to get a hold of two tickets to the SU v. UB game! I was suppossed to purchase tickets last week, but I am swamped at work. YOU WILL SAVE MY MARRAIGE! My wife and I are Syracuse alumni and would like to go to the game. As of now, only endzone seats are available. PM me if anyone has any ideas. THANK YOU!
  12. I have a fantasy football addition. There, now I am on the road to recovery. I have been playeing fantasy football since high school - before scoring was done by computers and other services. I used to open up the box scores in teh paper and score all the teams by hand - and I loved it! (Though my spanish teacher was not too keen on the idea). It is a great hobby that incoporates my favorite sport - plus, one of the greatest events of the year is the draft! Getting together with the buddies, trash talking, trading, trashtalking, and drinkin beer. The draft is the best part. I encourage you to join a league jsut to see what the fuss is about. You will get hooked.
  13. Because most of the owners went with the "faulk strategy" where they chose w-3 rb's with their first three picks. Moss, Harrison, and Chad Johnson (I took him) went in the second, and with the first pick in the 3rd I took Owens. So I took Johnson and Owens back to back.
  14. I posted this in your other thread: I usually do not say this in critiquing other folks draft, but you are screwed! LOL! You should not have taken Payton that early. With the #5 you could have picked up ports, alexander, james, or SOMEBODY. Qb's are a dime a dozen (in fantasy value terms). So you sacrifced a huge value drafting slot for a low value position. Big mistake. Is this your first fantasy draft? To see how it is done - look at my post in the fantasy forum.
  15. Ok, I had teh #1 pick overall - I traded it and my 6th round pick for the #6 pick (1st round) and the #15 pick (in the second round). It is a ten team league, 6pts for all TD's with bonuses for longer TD's. We also get performance bonuses (+5pts for rushing over 100yds, etc.) Here are the results: STARTERS: T Green QB (5th round) C Portis RB (1st round) E James RB (2nd round) C Johnson WR (2nd round) J Smith WR (4th round) T Owens WR (3rd round) D Clark TE (14th round) A Elling K (16th round) D Broncos DST (15th round) RESERVES: D Carr QB K Jones RB L Jordan RB W McGahee RB B Lloyd WR L Evans WR Q Morgan WR

  17. Drew didn't look like the "Munster Character" depicted in the cartoon last night. I am very happy with how they are using drew thus far - though Mularky had better keep that remote control handy, just in case.
  18. nice to meet you too . I understand your elloquantly stated point. However, lets look at this from the other point of view - when the RNC announced that they would hold their convention in NYC - they were criticized because they were bringing a huge political event that would be a magnet for controversy. It is simply unamerican and unrealistic to think that a major political event can take place, in controvertial and polorized times, and not bring dissent, glamor, spin, and - yes, danger. So your blame of just the activists is clouded by your warped political outlook. When they chose the venue they knew what they were getting into. P.S. your depiction of the gay rights movement is about 20 years outdated.
  19. right, you can deploy certain tactics to deal with non-compliant people. However, there is an escalating line of tactics that police must employ. Police can not act without restraint in any way they like. Under some logic posted in this thread the police would be justified in shooting a person engaged in NONVIOLENt civildisobediance. However, I know they can NEVER deliberatly run over people with a police van - a mortorcycle - arrest people for standing on a sidewalk for using a cell phone - place them into cages BEFORE they do anything - etc, etc. Again, read the report above, this is what I am talking about.
  20. Wrong, you are giving license to police to do whatever they want - this is dead wrong. They, as state actors, must act in a Constitutional way. IF ANYONE breaks a law, they have to act in a certain way. For example, if you are caught speeding, they are not allowed to come up to your window and pepper spray you in the face. Similarly, if folks are committing civil disobeince, the police are allowed to take any action WITHIN their powers. Using thier vehicle's as weapons and intimidation deveices are not within thier powers. Read - or skim - the report I listed above. It will give a better understanding of what is happening in AMerica. This goes WAY beyond civil disobedience - which is a marginal tactic. This goes to the very notion of your right to dissent. Read it.
  21. oh, i didn;t see it last week - but it is funny. I love Deon Sanders in that! Also, the name of the reporter, "Harry Sphinter!"
  22. Football Cartoons These are great cartoons from footballguys.com. For a cartoon featuring Drew Bledsoe and Mike Mularky click on "AFC Preview." THough you should click on all of them - there is one that features a great news interview with Ricky Williams!
  23. Report on Erosion of First Amendment This is a great report on how authorities have spit on the first amendment. They see it as a threat.
