The purpose of this poll is to get an idea of how the TBD community feels about Beane’s strategy on night one before the rest of the draft plays out.

There is no “wait and see” option for a reason.

I personally like what Beane did and I’m interested to see how others feel.

The fire Beane thread posted early this morning didn’t sy anything? …….

  2. My two cents…..

the problem in trying to move up high is test you are going to have to match QB pricing for picks becsuse other teams are looking to trade up for QB.  There could be 6 QBs drafted in top half of the draft

it seems like the top 3 are also in the top of the draft then others may be in  25-40 range.

buffalo could trade up a few spots to get the player they want. I don’t see the fantasy trade up occuring.

Latu seems like one of those guys where he keeps dropping and dropping and everyone is going crazy and then Bills come up and pass on him too and everyone is like wtf and then we find out he failed medicals, something draft people aren't privy to. And then the Cowboys or Chiefs draft him and he's an all pro lol

And if buffalo did drsft him and he sucked or had a medical condition IRed people would call Beane an idiot in drafting

I've been telling you guys for a long time that even though Burrow and Zac Taylor have been trying to build a culture in Cincinnati, Mike Brown is still the owner. They pay cash to the cap, so no one except Burrow and Chase are going to get paid.

That being said, they will tell Hendrickson and Higgins to pound sand and make them play out the year. You can bank on that, so for at least one more year the Bengals are serious contenders.

in current NFL you can’t pay full price for WB and pay full price on a #1 receiver and pay full price for another #1 and expect to be good. Paying 2 WR top 20 money snd a QB top 10 money will kill you.

Not quite sure what you're trying to say, maybe you wrote this from your phone. Think it has something to do with testing of the O-ring failures. What I got from the article I read, and there were a couple graphs I didn't totally understand, was that temperature was never a characteristic that was factored in. Therefore, the common theme of the failures that were addressed were not the actual root cause of the them. So that when the engineers said that temperature might be a problem, management said we've already addressed the failure issues.

the O ring failures did not do full temperature testing.  They are thinking we launch in Florida, so it doesn’t get cold.  The thr testing temp had limits that they went outside.

Feynman demonstrated the failure with a cold glass of ice water and plopped the o-ring inside. Later taking it out showing it does not function as it should

In the market crash in 2008 a similar thing was done with finsncial models where they projected thrm outside the constraints

Similar logic is in recommendations saying kids/ teens are just young adults.

I don’t know, his fake hamstring pull TD celebration really annoyed me.

what was his injury last year? He only played in 10 games

no question his numbers are elite.  If it went well here, he could push for the single season receiving record

I don't know what's more ridiculous - the idea that the Vikings are going to trade the best WR in Football at age 24, following them letting their QB walk to ensure they have enough money to keep him....

Or saying you prefer a Draft Prospect who hasn't played a down in the NFL over the proven best WR in the NFL.

    herrbis thr thing….

if try go for Rookie QB then you can invest in a vet WR and other positions.  If minnesota goes for QB thry ent moves thst open cap space in 2025.

if you have QB established, then you use the cheap labor in the draft.

Not so much that the O-ring itself was faulty as it was never designed to function at the temperature at launch. Several engineers noted the problem, the concerns were dismissed by NASA management.

the issue in testing thro-ring and temp limits.

la parallel is the 2008 crash.  The financial models had constraints thst were ignored when the syste, stepped outside the parameter limits.

Interesting article especially about teams not wanting to give WR’s long term deals.  That would suggest Metcalf would be more desirable than Aiyuk and it might be cheaper draft capital wise to get them than people think.

WRs turning into RBs with many replaceable unless there is something very special about them…then you keep them.

from financial cap structure you can’t pay high on two WRs unlesss you are riding rookie contracts elsewhere. Top WR wants thr high money, but are thry worth it.

20 years from now - Glacier National Park. That's your head's up.

I did thr 2012 annual at Grand Canyon and 2027 total st grand Teton.

I was at my sisters friends in the 219/90 area. It was mostly cloudy.

I was in clear skies for 2012 and 2027.

2027 totality was a narrower band than this one where time was around 3:20 vs 3:45. at totality in 2017 it was more like a dimmer switch on an overhead light making it darker but you had horizon blue skies.

with it being overcast you can see the shadow coming and thrn dhafoe made it like midfle of the night thrn you could see something like a sunrise coming in the western ski.

I hope to be alive in 2044 and 2045 to see the eclipses. I’ll be in my mid 70s

the 2045 one in glacier. This is near the edge of totality and I have to check times and dunpositions if I want to do it from therr ve sunset in eastern montana/ western nd ( theodorecroosevelt  rlt np)

the 2045 crosses the country through south/ central utah and Colorado hitting a bunch of national parks.

I plan on going to the 2026 eclipse in august in Spain.

    others…

the 2027 one will be a long one with sound 6:30 in totality. The longest possible is 7:32 in totality. This one hits far southern Spain, gilbtalter, north Morocco and it crosses nw to se Egypt

Nov 2030 there is one that crosses South Africa and Australia

2033 one crosses Africa but it’s just off the coast of Ghana ( relatively sadder place to go for it)

in Xmas 2038 time one crosses Australia and New Zealand

In the wake of the Diggs trade, a friend had this reaction and came up with the scenario below. Curious to know what people think because it actually seems genuinely plausible to me, and I'd love it:

"A bunch of you know, I've been hoping since February that Beane would trade Diggs for a 2nd or 3rd rounder. The fact that he was able to get what should be a high end #2 in 2025 is great.

What Beane did was jettison the 4 receivers that caught the ball at a 63% clip & kept the 3 guys that collectively caught it at an 82% catch rate. Shakir, Cook & Kincaid we're all top 30 in the league in that category [incidentally, Cook was 81.5 percent for 8.2 yards/target]. Even after these 3 guys sign their 2nd contracts, they should all remain good values for most of the remainder of Allen's career.

    Here's 4 relatively conservative projections for 2024

                        Targets          Yards      Yards/Target
    Kincaid          110                 800             7.3
    Shakir             80                800            10
    Samuel           90                750             8.3
    All RBs            80                650             8.1

That equates to 3,000 yards on 360 targets. Allen has averaged 36 attempts per game over the past 4 years. 36x17=612 which leaves 252 targets for Wr1, Wr2, Wr5 & Knox. Allen has never thrown over 4,600 yards in his career. If he were to average 7.9 yards per attempt on the remaining 252 attempts, then he would have thrown for 5,000. Just for perspective, Shakir led the league in yards/target last year at 13.6. Aiyuk was 2nd at 12.8 & Diggs was a pedestrian 7.4, unlike 2020 when he was 9.2

For me, ideally Beane couples pick #28 & our 2025 2nd round pick to either trade for Aiyuk, or move up to get Brian Thomas Jr. Then, if he took our 2025 first round pick to trade back into the 2nd round to grab either Legette or McConkey, that would be nice. We'd have the fastest & most dynamic set of skill players in team history.

It sounds like we can easily create North of 60 million in cap space for 2025 & free up a bunch more room in 2026. That's a fantastic kicker to this Diggs trade, because it'll allow us to target multiple pro bowl free agents in the next couple of years.

All of these factors combined, will allow us to compete with KC for the next 8 years & we'll be able to view this trade for what it is ... a prelude to a parade!"

Aijuk I would bnot trade thst for…

just sign him as a UFA if needed. Use thr pick to drsft a WR.

here is an outside the box idea.

28 and next years 1 to Dallas for CeeDee Lamb.  Dallas has been dropping hints at not wanting to sign him long term with a possible rebuild next year with a new staff.

He is a do everything wr, extremely arrogant but he plays all the spots, is a YAC guy .....but he needs a monster contract.  A rookie allows them to next year spend money on defense.

They need to take the 1st on WR for the low cap hit.

As we’ve established, Christmas Day is celebrated on a specific day (December 25th) every year, but NOT on a specific day of the week, like Wednesday.

So seeing as how this Sunday is Easter Sunday (always on a Sunday but NOT the same Sunday) can anyone tell us…without looking it up…..how is the date for Easter Sunday determined each year?

PS: It’s one of the few trivia questions that I actually know.

It has to do with first Sunday after full moon after spring equinox.  Western church fixes spring for the 21st. Eastern Orthodox goes by the exact date.  As a result, some years they can be very different.

That was an outrageously low pay for KC to move up, for Mahomes yet.

No one's going to reciprocate for the Bills' try to move up, and this time the cost would be for a top 5 pick.

The deal closely matches the pick chart values.
