  1. This is what I am trying to tell you is that Whaley wouldn't say that because it would be rather absurd for the GM to come out against the HC that they just hired, and he wouldn't ever point the finger at the Pegula's for fudging up either. I think Whaley saw the merits of Rex Ryan, but I also think he knew that the defense would have to change. Maybe Whaley was convinced Rex would leave it intact, maybe he wasn't, but you can't deny the effect Rex had on the Pegula's, and that Hue Jackson was a top candidate. The question you have to ask yourself is if the Pegula's were not involved at all, would Whaley have chosen Rex Ryan or Hue Jackson? The logical choice would have to be Jackson because he was more likely to do what was quoted to be the goal for 2015 - Keep the defense intact, work on the offense. And that isn't even using hindsight cause Jackson just went 1-15 with the Browns.
  2. In fact Hue Jackson even says this: "The Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator thought he aced his interview with the Bills and fit the mold owners Terry and Kim Pegula and General Manager Doug Whaley put forth. "They wanted to find someone to leave the defense in place because they were very good there and really help on the offensive side of the ball, help with the decision of the quarterback," Jackson said Wednesday at the Super Bowl media center." How can Hue Jackson say this, but then your PR speak of Whaley supporting Rex Ryan say something different. Rex Ryan convinced Whaley and the Pegula's that he could keep the defense intact like he said in his introductory press conference. Rex Ryan didn't do that. So no, Rex Ryan didn't have the same philosophy as Doug Whaley, or at least he didn't act on the philosphy he sold to the Pegula's and Whaley.
  3. This isn't a recent narrative. Despite you saying that you can't find anything on it, many of us know it to be true. Hue Jackson fit what Whaley wanted, and Rex Ryan won the group over. Whaley putting anything but 100% support behind the chosen candidate would be pretty ridiculous don't you think? So the PR speak tells you nothing.
  4. Its 50% confirmed. Like a half confirmation. Someone said "Yemaybe"
  5. If McCoy gets the job, I thought he wouldn't be interested in Tyrod?
  6. But why would they publicly congratulate him? We all know they are secretly whispering about the train wreck of the bills and how it's a mistake to take this job, and blah blah blah.
  7. Showed McDermott no respect as well suggesting that Josh Norman was the only reason for defensive success in their super bowl year. Look for that to be the narrative beaten over us when we lose 1 game.
  8. Whaley reportedly felt strongly about hiring Hue Jackson. Obviously Rex came in and won the Pegula's and maybe even Whaley over. Had Rex come in and not won the Pegula's over, and they were lukewarm on Rex, maybe it would have been a little easier for Whaley to say, no, I think we should go with Hue. There is no denying that the Pegula's were lured by the big splash effect of hiring Rex Ryan. To say that Rex had no effect on the Pegula's and solely convinced Whaley he is the guy is a myth or fairy tale.
  9. Atlanta is looking fantastic too.
  10. Miami fans are actually happy that he is leaving. That's rough to hear if you are a bronco fan.
  11. Contort themselves? You don't have to. You just have to watch Sammy play.
  12. Sounds like the solution is simple, have a good passing game to put us in the lead, a defense to keep us in the lead, and a running game to finish the clock off.
  13. What is it? Twitter is blocked at work.
  14. Someone should tell him the news then.... Just kidding. I don't even think Rivers has been mentioned. Also was the 4 qbs were Romo, Cutler, Brees, and Cousins, mentioned by someone who broke some things like the Rex hire. Not sure exactly what he meant by that but perhaps he heard a list of QB's they think are simply obtainable.
  15. There is usually one "not a done deal" before its a done deal, so I say done deal!
  16. Yeah, I heard Romo, no Rivers. He is currently better than anyone else we have access to, and could cover the gap while we draft and groom a QB. He's got 2-3 more years in him I think.
  17. I thought I heard Rivers was pretty stuck on not moving his family around or something.
  18. Really depends on the contract but ill take a 38 year old Brees over all other prospects.
  19. That's what I am hearing now. I have been out of the loop the last few days, just got the McDermott tweet, come on here and hear rumors of McCoy and something about Brees?
  20. He does drop some scoops, but he has said some nutty things as well.
  21. Did he call this or is this sarcasm? Link?
  22. Just got this too. Very interesting. Wonder what he'd do with OC.
  23. Why would Lynn be a bridge to a reset? I'd like to see this offense with a healthy Sammy and an improved defense in 2017, and I see playoffs. Just have to beat the Jets/Dolphins at least once each, and one other team that we didn't this year.
