  1. Oh so one loss means nothing, but two losses means one HC is better than the other?
  2. But losing games is an indicator of which HC is better, John?
  3. Points allowed is a meaningless stat. Now I've heard everything.
  4. I think you're being overly harsh with Love. I can see the soft argument, but at the end of the day, good team or bad team, scoring points is scoring points. Love in Cleveland isn't a great fit because he's not even the #2 option. He's either #3 or #4 depending on JR Smith. I think if you put Love on the Celts with IT, they would have made it to the ECF. The Celts more than anything need another dependable star scorer because Thomas can't do it alone.
  5. It's not that I'm picking a nit. Rather, it's that I've boiled down JohnC's rationale as to why Fitz has little value to the fundamental assumption that if he did, Elway would go after him because Elway "knows QB's and how to handle them." Now that I've found the assumption that he is basing his opinion on, I can argue that Elway "knowing QB's," is at best arguable and at worst incorrect.
  6. Where Timofey at? 2 1sts for a guy who hasn't seen significant minutes since December?
  7. Graham wasn't the ONLY problem, but he had his share of gaffes in coverage as well. Think of Graham's high tackle number as a symptom.
  8. This woman is a monster who needs to never see the light of day.
  9. Under Bill Polian, the Bills were SB contenders most years. You're making my point for me. Denver and NE for the last 4 years have been prime destinations for FA's moreso than any other AFC team because of their post season chances.
  10. GS in 5. Bury them! Lebron leaves Cleveland a second time. Becomes the most reviled athlete in history. Beautiful.
  11. The human drama is still there, but I think the show has done a poor job of keeping it up. In the books, even with Bran training and white walkers, they still had Dany struggling to rule and be just, Jaime's reflection, Cersei's descent into crazy town, Tyrion wallowing, Jon struggling with his vows and leading etc etc. Some of that isn't easily translatable. And I also understand that the show can't use a slow approach to the Others that GRRM did (case in point, the difference in Hardhome, works in the books for suspense, but you gotta show something for TV). The show has pivoted much more to the supernatural than the books, IMO. And it's a little less appealing than season 1 and 2 for it.
  12. It was easy to say then. That's why virtually every team in the league pursued him. Just because it wasn't guaranteed doesn't mean that the low risk wasn't absolutely, positively, 1 billion percent worth the possible reward. Elway did a decent job. But YOUR general point was originally that Elway knows QB's and their values because he signed Peyton, asked Peyton to take a pay cut when he was over the hill and let Osweiler walk. 2 of those were no brainers, and one of them hasn't shown to be the right move or not. Like Kirby said, talent begets talent. Once Denver started going 13-3 and were SB contenders, players were taking cuts to win rings. Again, Elway still found good pieces, but it was a lot easier than how Buffalo has to attract FA's.
  13. Again, where was the risk bringing in Peyton? They had TEBOW taken with a first rounder. They had no where to go but up at the QB position. Of course it was the right move. Taking Luck with the #1 pick was the right move too. Those moves are easy. You and me pull the trigger on both of those. They are no great feats.
  14. Basically, the idea is that Graham had so many tackles because the rest of the defense did not. Every open receiver that burned out LB's was eventually tackled by Graham after gaining 15 yards. Ditto for RB's who got to the second level. Every tackle that Dareus, Hughes, Mario, Bradham and Brown didn't make, Corey Graham did, after a decent gain.
  15. Yep. I'm not sure how great of a QB evaluator you are when arguably the best FA of all time decides to grace you with his presence. It's like praising Grigson for Luck. What foresight. What guts.
  16. Bringing Peyton in is a move that any GM and even most casual fans would do. I'm not sure it's the correct move to paint Elway as a personnel mastermind.
  17. They should stop reporting bad things.
  18. Probably because he's finally progressing with a real OC developing him, and the reporters can't handle it.
  19. In that moment. Not forever. That whole sequence was unexplainable magic that would not be seen again.
  20. I just don't see how this is possible. How does signing Fitz to a 2-3 year deal inhibit their chances to find a better QB? Unless you're suggesting they tank. The fallacy inherent in your argument is this false choice. Signing Fitz does not mean they can't find a better QB in the next 3 years. Did signing Matt Flynn prevent Seattle from finding Wilson? Did having Bledsoe on the roster prevent the Pats from finding Brady? Favre and Rodgers? Brees and Rivers? Peyton and Luck?
  21. Nah. She already has the entire plot working for her. The less "magic" surrounding her, the better.
  22. It's very close individually. But the GS stars' sum of their parts is much greater than the Cavs.
  23. Why no Stoneheart? Jaime's Riverlands arc is one of the best in the series, IMO. I hope the shoe does it justice. Really, he's just one of the best characters, and one you actually start to root for until you remember he tried to murder a 7 year old. I'd rather they give him his own story again than shoehorn him back into another story, like the Dorne fiasco. JMO. Ramsey walking towards Rickon, Jon and Sansa all in chains with a knife...cut to black. Someone dying is the end of this story, who it is is the beginning of the next.
