  1. This guy should be terminated.

Was he watching on an old iPhone or something? It was an obvious good call on the field, you could see the line in the turf where Benjamin dragged his foot AFTER possession.

There is either one of two things happening here. He’s doing this to get the catch rule changed at the expense of other teams or he has a complete bias towards New England. Most of his bad calls have been with NE as the positive recipient of the call.

This guy is about as qualified as Dean Blandino was. Being a referee doesn’t make your judgement any better.

This screams favoritism. He needs to be investigated before he ruins a playoff game, unless his calls are a hush hush agreement with the NFL. Then they all need to be terminated.

    Rant over.

He had a player on his waist.  Forward progress rules apply.

    Correct.

It is not correct in this situation. The NE player would have had to keep the ball extended and a Bills player would have to push the player back.

This is not the case here. The New England back pushed the ball forward, like you would at the goal line and then pulled the ball back. There was absolutely no views that showed knees down, etc.Thats not forward progress.

 Thanks for clearing that up.  We'll see, but it wouldn't shock me if he did sit out for a year.

You are welcome. It was a definitive comment that needed clarification.

I do not see why all the love for Rosen. Maybe Cleveland could stick it to this kid, tell him they are drafting him and watch him go back to school. Then they draft Darnold.

Most of you do not remember this happening to the Bills,Cousineau and Kelly. It’s not a great feeling as a fan.

I’d rather be a young Bills fan today than a young Pats fan.  The latter peaked - they’re going to have a lifetime of adjustment and lowered expectations.  Bills are headed in a better direction...

    Ebb and flow.

I have never hated the Patriots because their fans that went through futility deserved enjoyment.

I have an issue with younger fans, and the ruination of a great game by the NFL,with regards to rules that give teams with great QBs an advantage. Tommy tutu would never have survived a couple decades ago at this age. His insistent crying over being touched would have been met with an all knee bonanza by the opposing defense.

You will never hear a ref like Ben Drieth say  “Personal foul, number 93 of the defense, after he tackled the QB he was giving him the business down there.”

    Thats what defensive players did.

Now, that guy would get suspended and called a bully.

From my time spent in New England, trust me, there are some decent Pats fans out there that are not bandwagoners and were just as sick of us in the 80s-90s as we are of them now.

I know a lot of those guys, mostly older logical types who are true Boston Patriots fans. They know football.

The problem with New England fans is that the younger fans are entitled and know very little about the ebbs/flows and football in general. They are more knowledgeable about baseball.

Their day is coming and it’s sooner rather than later. They made a monumental mistake trading Garrapolo.

Watch how quickly the wheels fall off that wagon.

Brady’s NOT playing until he’s 45,at least not as an effective starter.

One rule change will send that team into a spiral. Take Tommy’s picks away and it’s all over.

  6. As an “older fan” it’s my opinion that the Dolphins- Bills rivalry was much more intense.

The Dolphins had been perrenial winners and once their QB started to age they got lucky and drafted the NFLs golden boy,Dan Marino.

What made the rivalry intense were the facts we had our own golden boy, the Miami media took a lot of shots at Buffalo and they had players like Bryan Cox.

Adding to that is the fact we lost to the Dolphins for an entire decade, losing on last second bull **** ref calls. Sound familiar?

Having said the above,I too despise Brady, the Pats and their ignorant fans. Their fans are almost entirely bandwagon fans who are one day going to be jumping off the wagon. The Pats will secure their rightful place in the East, at the bottom, like they did so many, many years previously.

Brady would be retired by now if he played in the era of Kelly and Marino, where men where men, regardless of position. There were no pansy ass rules in place to protect the feminine one. It wasn’t a passing league where rules help QBs and offenses in general.

Brady is going to get hurt, make no mistake about it. As much as I despise his type I just hope he doesn’t get hurt badly, just enough to make Jizzell give him an ultimatum, from which he will succumb.

Maybe BB is showing compassion in his old age ?. I am glad for Jimmy G that they didn't send him to Cleveland, in SF we will see if he is the QB I THINK he can be or not. All Cleveland done is killed another QBs career.

You continue to allude to Cleveland.

It would be more of them worrying about trading him to the AFC than your perception of QB hell.

Trade to a partner near the top of draft board outside of any AFC team and it was successful. The rumors of Frisco

desiring JG were publicized for many weeks.

As for the Lombardi's we are actually making space for #6 and since we have so many we hired a maid to dust them ?

Whats this “we” crap?  You a member of the team?

The rest of the East is quietly making space for the most certain fall to come. The doormats of the division, which “your team” so rightly owned so many years.

I cannot wait to see the entitled fall off the bandwagon.

  9. I love the hydrated garbage. Your body can only retain so much hydration before it either shuts down altogether or expels it.

He undoubtedly has had numerous concussions over the years, including last year when Jizzell blew the whistle on him.

Speaking of blowing the whistle, she will be the wild card. He will do what she tells him. She dresses him already and has tuned him into his duality of spirit.

I thought he said natural turf? Could have been someone else.

For another poster: I know his source is NOT Jim Kelly.

I still haven’t heard of any open air stadium close to Alabama and it’s swamp land. From much of the due diligence posted by other posters it would likely be downtown.

Pegula has been buying up Perry street property like candy ....   Between Pegula Entertainment + the city.   They almost own the entire space between the arena and the casino.

Also.  the HSBC building in front of the arena,  is up for sale + parking lots around it.   HSBC is trying to get rid of that place.  I have heard that building is falling apart and poorly maintained.   HSBC wants to move the jobs there to the suburbs and sell.

Also, Pegula is investing in a building right in that area too for the Labbott Blue Brewery, offices, and residential.      THEN add in the hofbrauhaus  or what ever its called near the Creamery.     WHY the heck would a pretty well know german beer chain go from building on canalside (which they didnt want to pay the utilizes for) to building in the middle of no where city wise with nothing else around it?

ALL signs point to downtown.    Not Batavia.

If Pegula wants and open air stadium and Buffalo wants a dome .... simply build a retractable roof stadium for year around usage.    Bills games the roof can be open for all games with the exception of Thunderstorms and Buffalo can use the stadium year around for concerts,  motocross, high school football, college football (maybe UB), and many more events.

    https://www.google.com/search?q=florida+marlins+stadium&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjP_8aKgIrYAhVLQCYKHdKtA78Q_AUICygC&biw=1366&bih=637#imgrc=W6EW6GPg02z8xM:

Marlins stadium is a good example of a retractable roof stadium that works for Buffalo.      The roof is completely off the field / stadium and you still get an outdoor feeling.    Open up both endzones with glass with some seats like cowboys stadium to get the wind factor.      BOOOOOOM  problem solved.     It can snow and be cold and yet close that stadium up for other events.

Pegulas are changing the downtown area big time. It would take a lot of acres to cover stadium, parking and roads, unless they decide to forego tailgating and do little surface parking, which I highly doubt. The stadium would probably use up about 15-20 acres, then add in parking and other entertainment Pegula will likely build with it.

I would guess there’s plenty of space to do that.

I agree with downtown more so than Alabama or Batavia or anywhere outside of the metro area. It will likely be retractable for the reasons you have stated.

Do you really think they are not thinking about the new stadium?  He is a billionaire and it did not happen overnight. The big issue was state money, we won’t get any but the location has given him a 10 year tax free deal to build.  Do the math.  He is looking for investors and even explored a Green Bay option of selling shares to community.  I believed that has been ruled out.  My source asked me if I would buy shares and said heck yes.

    Don,

If any municipality or State Entity has given a tax free deal to anyone it would, by law, have to be made public.

Also, it’s very doubtful any politician involved with dealings or Government officials would not have inadvertently leaked this by now.

You hooked me into searching property sales in eastern Erie County and all of Monroe County. There are no abnormal property sales in any region, according to someone that looked for me that is a realtor.

There was wind of one of Pegula companies looking for properties with Gas rights though, just not anywhere near Alabama.

    He hasn’t found any purchases.

The NFL precludes any team from selling shares to the public, either for team or land. Green Bay has been grandfathered in. Pegula would know that and would never had thought of selling shares.

Just come out and tell us where this supposed open air stadium that would generate revenue year round for parking will be.

I just can’t see anyone going to a stadium in the sticks in the middle of winter to see anything besides football.

    Question for you.

How would your parking area generate income year round?

Thanks for being the voice of reason. I believe your sources. The Bills playing out in Batavia really scared me for a while. Hopefully your sources are correct and his are incorrect haha. Does Terry really have a bias against downtown like Dunkirk Don said?  Or is that hearsay?

I don’t believe he’s biased, just my opinion based on the fact he’s pumped a lot of money into the downtown area.

Downtown Buffalo is going to be difficult property wise. They would have to apply eminent domain to get the needed property to house a new stadium.

    These are facts:

There are properties with ample area in Lancaster and north of Buffalo to make this work. These properties have been made public previously. The property in Niagara Falls was purchased immediately after Pegula bought the team. The property is useless as it stands but a major investment was made because the developer who purchased has an inside track to State politicians.I believe it’s Howard Millstein.

Pegula owns the team but he had a lot of help with securing his bid, through NY politicians. The state wants the stadium near Buffalo, that’s why they helped. It’s never, ever going to Batavia or that Far East of Buffalo.

  15. Now everyone’s a capologist. “Tyrods  too expensive”

First we have the armchair scouts and GMs and now the “let’s save cap space”crew.

Theres likely to not be a market for Tyrod. Tyrods agent during last offseason put feelers out to teams that TT could be available and they had zero interest from any team, that’s why he stayed here. The same will happen this year. Why? Because TT is not a very good QB. Teams know it.

If the Bills want Tyrod back he will have to come back at their number, not his.

I don’t understand why anyone here cares what Pegula spends on any player with bonus money.

Not our money, nor our concern.

Cap space will be managed by people who actually know how to.

    This is the year.

There are so many armchair scouts, and GMs on this board, critiquing each QB as if they actually know what a good QB looks like.

Im also amazed at the guys who say you only trade up for a can’t miss player,as though they happen every year. You know, the Andrew Luck,Peyton Manning’s of college football.

    Geesh.

it would be completely idiotic to build a stadium in the middle of nowhere.  you think they would really do it outside of Erie county like some are suggesting?  that's tax dollars the area wouldn't get.  Buffalo real estate is booming and a stadium downtown or on the east side of the city would continue that development and do a lot of good for the city

Believe me,it’s not going anywhere near Batavia. The main market isn’t Rochester either,it’s Buffalo, the metro area and Southern Ontario. To the poster who stated Rochester is the second largest market, that would be incorrect. It’s WNY and Ontario. If you include the metro Toronto area then you are looking at one of the largest markets in the NFL.

Rochesters a great market for ticket sales, and a great fan base but it’s not the second main market. A move to Batavia could alienate a really large market in Canada and parts of WNY.

Believe little what is posted here. Including what I’m posting if you desire. The op will be correct on what was stated regarding the team. If you read exactly what was posted you will see all bases covered. Tyrod getting traded,Tyrod staying, Dennison gone,Dennison staying, the Bills are after Cousins,if not Cousins then Bradford or Kennum or Bridgewater and so on. .If they can’t get any one of those guys they will draft one of Darnold who they really love (publicly stated already) or Rosen or Mayfield. Or Jackson or... Again,all bases covered.

It was said he was looking for property near the supposed property of a new stadium, then it turned into being a minor investor within a group that purchased property.

    Which is it?

There might be a restaurant and plaza being built that Thurman Thomas  and his group purchased land for but it’s got nothing to do with a football stadium and everything to do with his Batavia Downs venture and belief in Batavia. If Thurman’s telling potential investors the stadium might be built there(wink, wink) then shame on him.

Some people have real sources, and those sources are saying the stadium issue is in its infancy, but can progress quickly when they are ready. The leagues pushing him to get moving, and after last Sunday’s game they are pushing again. They are to get a stadium built outside of the snow belt region.

If Pegula wants funding from the State he’s going to have to build the stadium as close to Buffalo as possible. It’s politically motivated and earmarked for the economy of Buffalo and Western New York. Any stadium built in remote areas would not be cost effective, there would be monumental costs for infrastructure, sewage, water, electricity, ingress and egress issues, of which will be difficult to raise bonds for. Pegula would have to build the stadium himself and that’s not happening.

Those are the real facts, from real sources.

    ‘Wheatfield Bills’, nice ring.

    Lol,not too far from there.

On a serious note, a developer with ties to many political people had purchased all the land in Niagara Falls near the Seneca Niagara Casino. There’s nothing left to buy. That area is on the short list for a stadium.

Its never ever going to be built South of Buffalo. There are traffic issues with any location, especially in downtown Buffalo. There has to be major upgrades to roads and other infrastructure.
