  1. I have lots of friends, and family who live outside of Buffalo who believe Tyrod a great QB.

Why? Because they see the one or two highlight reel specials on TV,and see his lack of turnovers.

There is way more to the position than that. Hes a special athlete, but he’s never going to be a guy you can depend on individually to win you a game.

I’ll hit at 17,keep Tyrod and hope the kid we take is a QB of the future.

  2. Was at a Halloween party when I heard about the trade. That was the biggest trade in Bills history imo and started

the greatness that was to become.

I was a season ticket holder for 10 years by that time and that first game was unlike any other before it for me.

I’ll never forget that day and trade. Greg Bell was shipped off to LA and the rest is history. Polian made his mark that day.

  3. He’s doing everything he can to pimp his products.

Elongating muscles is nothing new but he’s only 40, he has years before concerns with muscle elasticity becomes an issue.

He’s been fortunate, and that’s all it is,it’s no magical cocktail for longevity in football. He’s going to get hurt and he will never be a starting QB until age 45 in today’s game. Time will take care of it,regardless.

This doesn’t seem to be working well for Gronkowski or Edelman.

  4. What kind of equity do we have in Boldin? Nothing. The point is: with NFL players, why do teams have the right to deprive a man the right to pursue a career just because they hold his rights. We see how the Steelers treat Bryant by relegating him to the Scout Squad just because he spoke up. God forbid a man make a statement or express his feelings - he is then treated as a bad dog - punished and kept outside for the night. Really pretty sad treatment of fellow man if you ask me (see also Ritchie Incognito. Likewise punished by the NFL for a non-issue).

Do we know if he asked to come back to play for the Bills? He signed a contract to play here then reneged on it.

I don’t see how the Bills are impeding his right to work unless they refused him a roster spot. After the fact he desired to work elsewhere,as though that contract meant nothing.

  5. He's not signing for peanuts, which is the only way we'd sign him. This is a pipe dream and not a very exciting one.

He will sign at a discount of his previous contract,he's been cut and clearly isn't worth too much.

I call BS on the 9ers having a deal in place,he would have been scooped up by said team. I'd take a stab at him if I were the Bills if the price is right.

  6. This is disappointing.

I hold Tyrod to the standard I would hold any 7th year (48 game) veteran.

There are mistakes he is making that he should not be at this point in his career.

If he wants to fall back on this complaint, that is his right, but I don't believe it.

For God's sake a while back, ALL the QB's on the Bills were African-American !

Our team's history belies this also...............

    James Harris (quarterback)

Good old James. That poor guy couldn't win for nothing, being a black QB during a time when race was truly divided.

He wasn't a very good QB though.

I always wanted to see what Marlin Briscoe could do behind center. That man was an athlete.

  7. The change in offensive scheme has hurt this running game.

Tyrod isn't a pocket QB,he's too short and lacks a quick release. Having Tyrod taking 3,5 or 7 step drops in the pocket, going through progressions isn't his game,he needs to move the pocket often and use his feet. Dennison is trying to change players to fit his scheme, that is why Ducasse started, because of system awareness. Lack of a passing game is killing the running game and vice versa.

The argument about having bad receivers is valid if you have a QB that actually targets them. Look at Tyrods history, his looks to the wideouts were minimal, even with Watkins and Woods. The loss of Clay is devestating because that's the guy Tyrod clicks with.

We do miss Watkins on deep patterns, and Dennisons system seems to be very conservative with very few deep patterns. Ask the Denver fans about this guy, they couldn't wait until he left.

This is the opposite of what happened with Rex,change the D to attempt to run his scheme, but without the proper personnell it didn't work and Dennisons offense will not work here with the players we have.

McDermott has made an error in hiring him,he should have looked for someone to keep the offense intact, but we know how coaches think.

The only way to get this turned around is for the OC to change his game planning or to find a QB who fits what they are trying to accomplish. Otherwise it's going to be a long season.

  8. I guess NFL players aren't allowed to hang in the Seneca-Niagra or Buffalo casino.

I've seen Ritchie at SN Casino in Niagara Falls a couple times. Sat and drank with him at The Chairmans Club.

Let me just say this,he's a colorful man.

That was during preseason, haven't seen him after.

It's a fallacy that there's nothing to do here, but unlike bigger cities, you have to look for it.

Ive been all over this country, the cuisine here is second to none. There is theater all over, you have to find it with exception to the obvious. There are areas where per square block we have the most drinking venues in the country.

There are nightclubs all over, just not many NYC style clubs.

You'll have people in every city who would be negative of it,but there's a reason why many former players and coaches live here.

It's a great place to raise a family, decent people and it's reasonable monetarily.

  9. Funny I have had no issue finding well paying jobs here...

I think that was largely overblown. They are not "forced" to relocate...they want to either because they think they can make more money, better weather whatever. Sadly many find that isn't the case...Making an extra 20K and then paying double the mortgage for a smaller house, much higher food prices and having much worse commutes that eat up gas and an overall higher cost of living are leaving many to realize too late that net income is far more important than gross income...ie, many people would have more money left over in Buffalo than they do elsewhere...which is why a lot of people have been moving back lately...

Those jabs and snubs are largely false these days, but some people are still too blind to open their eyes up to reality. Buffalo is on the rise.

People relocate for various reasons. It used to be work, and weather but Buffalo has been rebounding with very high paying professional jobs.

The area I have a home in sees property sales in excess of 1 million because of these professions and homes are not on the market for very long.

Weather is a big factor for transplants.

  10. So when they say section 219 Club Level they have actual seats and not bleachers? I hate those bleacher seating.....good to know it has access to better concessions and washrooms.

Yes,they are the more comfortable seats. I used to love my club seats. Those bleacher seats hurt like hell and are friggin cold, not to mention the loss of personal space.

  11. In the press conference I saw, McDermott said Whaley and his staff did a great job. The possibility that maybe is not being talked about enough is maybe Whaley requested to be released from his contract. There are a few jobs including the Redskins job that he could/should be a candidate for. He accomplished a lot here like bringing players to the Bills who would have never even considered coming here in the past. He immediately becomes the best young GM on the market and his stock may never be higher. This is not an ideal job not sure why any top GM candidate would be super excited to walk into this mess. Local media is pretty much the worst the Pegulas are starting to look clueless and to be honest Doug has set the bar pretty high with personnel. Just imagine if Ragland starts next year and Lawson becomes a 7-10 sack guy? Not to mention Sammy is in a contract year and most likely will have his best year as a Bill if he plays a full season. How many GMs can say that they found two bargain bin free agents that became pro bowlers the same season? I hope he sticks around but if I was him I'm pretty sure I'm ready to get out at the top of my game and get a fresh start.

You will hear the parting was amicable. Whaley did indeed request to void his contract. That is why he continued on following through with this draft. His reputation remains at stake for other jobs. The scouting staff has been telling anyone that would listen that they were leaving. There's a big disconnect of philosophy between DW and the new coach.

Whaley would have drafted anyone other then a white pocket passing QB.

  12. We can't scout. -Period.

All these d__ks on the dancefloor just adds to the evidence.

This was one of the richest drafts I've seen in YEARS... And we BLEW IT... CLEAN OUT THE FRONT OFFICE TERRY, PLEASE!

It was rich in DB and to some extent WR,otherwise it wasn't.

What positions were our first two picks?

Surely you are not mad about not drafting another DB?

  13. Once you are past the third round the likelihood of finding a guy that can come in and compete for a starting role are pretty remote. Do you really think that guys picked in late rounds are significantly better than undrafted free agents? Most of these guys come in and compete for a roster spot and at best become special teamers.

The Bills may very well have picked up three starters, using those late picks to achieve that is smart. I think they have done a good job of working this draft. They may very well have filled three holes. What more do you want?

I don't understand where people get the opinion that picking a volume of players correlates into filling slots and making an impact.

As you have stated, the odds of late round picks coming in and making any impact is small. The preference is quality to quantity.

The likelihood that our first three players stick has increased due to their grades and play on the field. A third, fourth and fifth round player statistically doesn't stick.

    A few thoughts...

To the guy who said these three drafted Bills players have flaws,

I agree, but every player has flaws.

I'm not a Tyrod fan but there wasn't a QB in this draft worth gambling on,but I'm no Andy Reid.

I would take a flyer on Chad Kelly today. He looks like a potential pro QB. He's immature right now but the veteran players will straighten him out. Mechanic wise, accuracy, and field smarts he's head and shoulders better then the current project QB that will never amount to much. It has nothing to do with his name or relationship to this area.

Fifth rounders statistically have minimal odds of making a team,so this is a good spot to take a gamble. Bill Polian said, paraphrasing, that this kid is the best pure QB in the draft. He could be correct and it's a good spot to pick him at if he's still there.

The Bills otherwise must be planning on using their two first rounders to move up in the 2018 draft. Hopefully the mantra of "next year" ends.

On the value of trading down in round one. Hearing fans complain about getting fleeced by K.C. Is absurd.

If the Cheifs pick the same slot next year as this year we still come out on top point wise. Does everyone think the Cheifs will be that good or better next year? They were 12-4 but I don't think they will come close to that this year based on conference and schedule. Moving closer to one adds value to that pick. It was a good trade.

  14. I'm right there with you Wayne. The draft is a crapshoot but every year the Bills waltz in like they know better than everyone else. What is the success rate of OL taken in the 3rd round, 33%? I can't imagine it's much higher. But I'm sure the Bills would tell you they are 75% sure in Dawkins. No matter how sure they think they are they don't really know. Dawkins could tear his ACL in training camp and there goes that idea. We needed to use all our picks this year IMO. I love the trade down but not as much because we lost the 3rd rounder anyways, to take a WR who had a great senior bowl but whose college production was possibly inflated by the system he played in. I mean I don't know maybe he turns into a great player but without the benefit of hindsight yet the moves look poor to me.

Offensive linemen is the one position that picking in later rounds has very little bearing on success. There are hundreds of examples of very good to excellent OL picked in later rounds.

The value of second rounders to third and beyond is very high, especially in this type of draft. To me,you increase the odds of getting a high quality player in round two comparably. Volume does not necessarily mean your chances of these guys sticking increases.

One example is New England. He drafts for volume and it doesn't work. BB not a very good drafter,so what makes anyone think the Bills will do much better?
