  1. Dunkirk Don, you are all over the place with this. Darnold ,Rosen, they want Cousins but would take Teddy and Bradford.

Talk about covering your bases. Please stop with this “ I have a source” charade.

There is much in your post that is logical assumption, until you start covering all the possible scenarios.

We were in 11th place in the afc going into that game and needed us to win out, Ravens to lose out, Dolphins to lose out and more...this is not the same

You are right about this. That Miami game wasn’t as important as the upcoming home game.

That game last year needed a boatload of help, and even if we win the chances were slim to none to get in.

We wouldn’t have gotten in regardless.

    Very big games coming up.

To answer the question, yes last years game was meaningful to a degree, but this is way more meaningful at this point.

You can't block a guy before the ball is thrown. I guess they were lucky the refs called it, but it was definitely a penalty and the only reason the guy was open.

Colts were lucky they made the extra point...

That is what happened. It was the correct call and no gift.

Now call that against the Patriots who do this all the time, before the ball is thrown.

    Colts were very lucky.

Sorry dont buy. Its heresay. Only the post would publish that. Besides how would a jets coach know that. BB hates the jets. There is no way BB would talk with a Jets coach.

Kraft wanted to hire BB after the 96 season, but was reluctant because of the way Parcells left.

I don’t doubt B.B. was on the hot seat.

You do understand that the coaching community is a brotherhood? They interchange from team to team all the time, they mostly have respect for one another and build up solid friendships. Hating a team is mostly for fans and some players.

It just shows us that having the right QB can make a coaches career. BB is a fine defensive coach and still runs his defenses( Patricia is a figure head, that’s why he’s not a head coach somewhere). The offense is Brady’s, as the change in offensive figureheads have never made a difference over the years.

BB has been blessed, but he’s smart enough not to tinker with what works.

Bills 1st round picks currently at 16th (1000pts) and 19th (900pts) would convert into 4th pick in draft held by Indy (1800 pts). If Bills wanted Baker Mayfield or Mason Rudolph they would have to swap. Sam Darnold or Josh Rosen would be gone at that point.

Or maybe add another draft pick or two to sweeten the pot?

Should be an interesting draft. I’m still rooting for the Bills to make it to the playoffs this year. If the Bills want to get a dal done they will get one done by mortgaging the future.

Then add Kirk Cousins to the mix and Washington will likely look for a QB

People forget the vet QBs that may be available in FA will be going to some QB needy team. Those teams will not be drafting a QB.

All things being equal it would be tough for the Bills to get their guy but you have to include the draft capital we have into any discussion. We hold a lot of value for a team that thinks they already have their guy or picked one up in FA.

Its possible both our picks could be closer to 10 than 20.

At that point we likely hold more value then Denver does, not considering any second rounders,of which we hold more value.

Frisco and Indy are in good position right now to be our trading partner.

yep.  watching this game is a complete waste of valuable time.   put your fanboys pants in the closet and go do something else this Sunday

Are you really a Bills fan or is this what younger fans do?

just curious because it’s a way of life here and you watch regardless.

I haven’t missed a game in decades, I’ll watch until the end.

In order to beat the Pats you have to be aggressive and lucky. I’m waiting for the day some player takes out Brady to end his season and career. I’ve never wished that on anyone, certainly not doing it now but I’m surprised it hasnt happened.

BB/TB have barely squeaked by in SB wins, were handed two by SEA and ATL and then there's the whole cheating element. OTOH,  BW/JM never lost a SB and generally crushed opponents.  All a matter of opinion as both combos have achieved greatly.

Imagine Bill Walsh with TB. Perfect West Coast QB. Bill Walsh was one of the greatest coaches of all time.

BB is helped by TB. His previous coaching gigs didn’t show his greatness.

There are a couple things that make B.B. a really good coach and that his ability to adapt to situations on the fly.

He has taken poor defensive showings and turned them into a solid group, regardless of personnel.

Should the Bills bring in some other young QB prospects looking forward to next year?  Jerrod Evans was a name bandied around these parts as a sleeper.  He's on the PS of the Packers.  Trevor Knight is another QB who is on the PS of the Falcons.

Should we try to poach these guys?  I'm sure there's some stiff we can cut to carry 4 QB's.  I mean, why not?

I don’t believe so. The Tyrod experiment will be over, and an experienced QB who can actually teach a young guy the trade will be brought in ,likely as a placeholder until our new first round QB is ready.

I guess there’s no harm in finding a fourth guy,but not sure what that would accomplish in terms of helping the team.

  10. This place has always been better, way better than that garbage board.

There were mostly casual Bills fans on the BBMB and many of them are here now (you can figure out who they are with their thoughts on who good QBs are)but there are some very knowledgeable Bills fans who made the move here.

I shake my head to this date when I think about the asinine arguments of how Peyton Manning was over the hill before going to Denver. The second Manning, and the reasons why he isn’t very good anymore are just as foolish. He will take a mediocre team to the promised land if he’s allowed to leave NY.

People, mostly these so called Bills fan,who have no vested interest in our team, know absolutely nothing about what a good QB looks like.

I fully believe Eli needs a change of scenery. He didn't forget how to play football....but Jacksonville would make the most sense seems that Saint Doug isn't in love with Bortles. He would be a stop gap until they find a true #1 QB...just like Tyrod is doing for us. Would love Tyrod to be able to teach a new kid how to get out of a bad situation by scrambling, how not to throw interceptions, and handle the media with class. Although hopefully the next QB hopefully likes to sling the ball without fear. Good luck Bills...hope you chose the next great QB in the draft

Scrambling is a natural instinct. There’s no way you teach someone that.

Not throwing interceptions is an easy one, especially in Tyrod case. You only throw to wide open players, and if your initial read is covered within 5 yards then you don’t throw it and run.

Dammit Hokie I wanted to post that lol.  I pulled the numbers the other day and posted them.  They are relevant in this thread as well.

    Some fun Eli facts:

Did you know he has a 110-100 record?
Did you know he has 3 years of 20+ ints?
Did you know he has never completed more than 63.1% of his passes in a season? and a career 59.8%?
Did you know he has only thrown for more than 7 ypa 6 out of 14 years starting?
Did you know he has a career qb rating of 83.8 which is the same as Joe Flacco?
Did you know he has thrown 222 ints in 210 career starts.  More than 1 a game
Did you know he has thrown 334 tds in 210 career starts.  About 1.5 per game.

So the average Eli game is 241.3 yards a game combined, 1.5 tds and 1 ints.  For comparison Tyrod goes for 238.3 combined, 1.55 tds and .23 ints a game.  Somehow out of these numbers Tyrod is garbage and a backup qb at best and Eli is a HOFer.

There are other intangibles to be considered.

    Heres a good stat.

    Game winning drives:

    Eli Manning 40 2004-2017

    Tied for 8th all time

    Tyrod Taylor 5 2011-2017

Tied for 207th with 28 other scrubs.

Sorry to say, 16 years has proven you wrong and that is what should be comprehended with the win now mentality.  Knowing who to properly use/spend your many drafts picks next year to build a team can change everything for the future of our team.

I'm just glad to see we have a coaching staff and FO that actually understands what needs to happen going forward to make the team better overall. Actually, while typing this I finally now "Trust the Process" seeing what we are trying to do. It's 180* different from all the failed regimes we have entertained post Wade.

Lastly, I personally think Nate will play 3X better than Tyrod but that will come in time.

    Exactly.

We finally have a management team with the balls to look forward instead of attempting to sneak into the playoffs with a guy that wasn’t going to be here anyway.

Now we get to see what we have in NP and where we need to go from there.

  15. As McD has stated, starting Peterman is a “calculated risk”

What calculations did they use ?

The last two games have magnified the reasons to switch. I could throw for more than 56 yards in a game.

Tyrod is not a pocket passer,he’s horrendous under center and not very good in shotgun. He likely leads the league,or close to it in 3 and outs.He cannot get into the end zone consistently in the red zone. He gets balls batted down regularly and will not throw unless a receiver is wide open. Tyrod lacks anticipation.

can he even read a defense?

Peterman already checked out of a play,I’ve never seen Tyrod ever do this.

The fact that Dennison refuses to craft an offense around Tyrod has been a detriment to him. The writing was on the wall for TT.

They likely felt we were going to lose a lot of games with TT under center,no passing game equals no running game, unless you use his legs.

Peterman offers up a pocket passer who gets rid of the ball quickly, with a bit of accuracy. If Peterman doesn’t play better than Taylor has been I’d be very surprised, even though he’s a rookie.

There will be interceptions, but at least we will have a guy who pushes passes to the receivers,or takes chances at jump balls. None of this Tyrod will do.

With this change I’m not expecting us to win a lot of games but we were not likely to win them with Taylor either.

Trying to keep the defense off the field is important, and getting the passing game going will help the running game.

I believe their calculations offered up little choice. We need to see what Peterman can do with Dennisons terrible offensive philosophy.

And another thing, TT was not good Sunday, but if you think he was the reason the Defense has

given up 500 yards on the ground the past two weeks, and he cost us those two games, then you

    have no hope.

The only reason a QB would want to play for this team is money. Draftees have been known to force trades,

not wanting to play for a organization. Even Dareus could,nt wait to leave town.

Tyrods not the absolute reason the defense stepped back but he’s not helping with rest. A defense gets gassed when getting run on all game. If you don’t extend plays on offense the situation becomes magnified.

“The only reason a QB would want to play for this team is money.”

Do you mean a free agent QB? If so then that’s normally where they go to,the team that pays them the most.

“Draftees have been known to force trades.”

Draftees haven’t been known to force trades,it has happened rarely.

If a guys drafted by the Bills he will play for the Bills.

Did you see Dareus’ letter to the fans and organization? Didn’t sound like he “couldn’t wait to leave town.”
