See I'd disagree. I'd say the fundamental purpose of a defender is to get the ball back to the offense with the best field position possible (scoring if at all possible). That means, for example, knocking a ball down (or even intercepting the ball) if it's on the way to a receiver is a higher priority than waiting for the receiver to catch it and then tackling him. Again, yes it's the roles of each individual player, but a LB being the 2nd best on the team in interceptions, plus being one of the leading tacklers is nothing to sneeze at. It is tough, as I couldn't believe it when we signed London (especially at half the price of Cowart), but "all-around," for coverage and tackling and nose for the ball ability I'd take Takeo.

It's tough to get sell-outs to local fans when: a ) A certain amount is alloted to visiting teams, b ) The tour companies from opposing cities can get tickets before "Joe non-Season-Ticket-Holder" can c ) Believe it or not there are people in the Buffalo area that are not Bills fans. A Bills fan has 8 chances to see the Bills a year, local fans of other teams have at most one chance/year, and in the worst cases once every 7 years or so... There are not enough people in the area to sell 70,000 season tickets, so opposing fans in the stand will always be an issue. At the same time, how many games were effectively sold out before "Joe non-season-ticket holder" had a chance to buy? (Yeah, I know, buy through a Season Ticket holding friend...). Issue "b" is the only one the Bills can do anything about, if they chose to...

People are not down with spending regional tax money on local projects, unless it's of course our local area. This works on all scales (National (regional) to New Orleans (local) in the specific case of the levees), and it's one of the things that is really killing NYS. Politicians here run on platforms that say "I'll bring more money to Western New York," instead of saying "I'll make sure that money is spent in a way that's best for the State," because that's what gets them votes. So Western New Yorkers vote in the guy/gal who promises the most money for Western New York, ditto Central, ditto downstate, etc etc, so everyone in Albany is more focused on trying to grab cash for their region rather than figuring out where it would be most wisely spent...
