  1. Yeah, I know, you all expected him to say "well of course they're going to cut me. I suck." But he didn't. The reason why he was cut is that he still believes he's a starting-calibre QB. We'll see soon if one of the other 31 teams agrees with him, but if he didn't have that belief in himself, I can guarantee you that none of them would. If I'm a team looking for an interim QB, I certainly don't want to hear "Well, the team said they were going with Losman and once they explained why I said 'that makes sense.'" Of course, if he didn't have that belief in himself, we'd have our "veteran backup QB." What wonderful lives you all must lead to scoff at someone for believing in himself....it's not like he could say anything right by your eyes anyway.
  2. You do need 4: 1. The guy in the lightbulb space. 2. Initial catapult operator. 3. 2nd catapult operator (who lauches #2) 4. The guy at the lower left, who crosses the bridge and ... eventually, slams the window shut.
  3. I was transcribing but I can't listen to that infernal buzz.
  4. at the end of each season you go through an evaluation process...looking at self, scheme, players, coaches, anything that has to do with football season. We did an in-depth look, still looking at areas we need to address. With that comes change. That's why we're here today. Our starting QB next year will be JP Losman. We had a good, not Super year. We did not reach some of the goals we set out when the season started out. You're constantly trying to grow, and with that comes change. And with that, it is our intention to release DB on Feb 22. I can't say what Drew has done for org, the leader he's been for team, the games he's won, I consider him a friend. It's a tough decision, but we're moving in a forward direction. No different than when I stood up here a year ago and said we were moving forward.
  5. DB on con-call at 2:00.
  6. SPOILER (in "white" below, highlight to read) Ummm, doesn't that still get the bottom right guy killed by the dog? The way I solved it was by opening the window when you send the bottom right guy walking...the 4th guy slams it shut, causing the white stuff to fall on the dog... Interesting take on the spear. The way I had done it was to leave the spear alone when I hit the bell with the rock, but clicking on the spear when I launched the guy, if I timed it right, bent the spear enough to let him get by safely. I didn't use the light at all. It was unnecessary to my solution. I tried following your instructions, in case they had bearing on the dog, but I still get killed...
  7. One of the key things to know is that you have do do "combinations" of things. There are certain things that you can't just "do" and let it go. For example, there is a way to keep the grenades from blowing up something you'll need (as agilen indicates), but you need to do something while the grenades are in the air....
  8. Just not a Plastic Cup. Look what it's done for the NBA...
  9. The Presser is to announce that they've hired 10 more coaches, in order to keep up with Miami. They'll have another presser once they figure out what those 10 coaches are going to do....
  10. Based on last year's numbers, two teams would be affected by the gap: New Jersey and Boston. Hockey salaries database here: http://asp.usatoday.com/sports/hockey/nhl/...px?year=2003-04
  11. Okay, I'm starting to see kinks in TD's armor. My impression was that he was against restructures, as it only pushed the problems out. So now we're faced with: --The Drew Bledsoe renegotiation, which some are reporting that TD wanted to re-renegotiate a year later. --The Moulds restructure, which will put us in the same boat next year (having to re-renegotiate or release). Unless there's an expectation that Moulds would retire after this year.... I don't like this idea of going to the same player two years in a row for concessions...
  12. 950,265 at last count (2000). Down about 18,000 from 1990. This site is cool...all sorts of info on WNY: http://rin.buffalo.edu/s_data/db/demo.html
  13. "professional" to me is more an indication of audience/profile than compensation. He may or may not be getting paid, but he is being syndicated by scout.com, who provides content to Yahoo Sports, a high profile content provider. With all the reports/reporters/etc I can't imagine they can screen all content. I'm curious as to whether Yahoo/scout.com is really cognizant of the garbage he in particular is spewing. It's a major discredit to them that he is syndicated through them....
  14. Still looking for an appropriate name at scout.com to e-mail about him. Do the places that syndicate scout.com (like yahoo) really know what is being presented as "professional sports journalism?"
  15. ...or you don't want to pay DIRECTV $10/month to be able to watch the same 3 boring documentaries on DiscoveryHD but you'd like to watch the Super Bowl in HD....I think about that every so often.... And as far as integrated tuners go, when I bought the 31" TV (that I replaced last year with the HDTV), I would have taken a 31" monitor (no RF input) if I had the option of getting one cheaper that way (I actually looked). In fact, ideally it would have no speakers either. For OTA, even before the days I could get local on DIRECTV, I always used a VCR. And all output goes to my receiver.
  16. Would we waste two pages on a message board on the topic if she had said "yes?"
  17. Those either, but since the article was about Bledsoe every third word was Humpty. Too much.
  18. Sorry, once I got past the leap of logic that keeping Bledsoe cost Losman a year of development (is he implying that if Bledsoe wasn't here, then Losman would not have been injured....? ), I couldn't get past the "Humpty." Can't take any "journalist" seriously who has to resort to (and insist on) such childish name-calling.
  19. They could always replace the red jersey with one of these. (warning: bar scenario movie has a music soundtrack with bad words in it. No other sound to it, so you can just play it with the sound off if you feel so inclined...)
  20. And besides, if you are a DIRECTV user (or, I'm guessing, even a cable user) it does you know good....correct? Isn't a built-in tuner only good for OTA channels? It is certainly a way to save on the budget....
  21. Tom, Tom, Tom, you are slipping.... "pet of its leash?" I wouldn't mind the roaming quite as much if NG would take responsibility and clean up after it....
  22. Was that how it worked when it was owned by 10 partners, or was it on the most part "equal share?" I don't know that, but it's a big difference on how things get run....
  23. Now that might buy Ralphie boy a suit. At least a Sports coat.

  25. I dunno, the way I see it, any cap evens things out. There's no rule saying that all teams have to pay out $52 million in salary, and teams with low payrolls have been competitive. Both the teams in the Stanley Cup finals last year (and 3 out of 4 semi-finalists) had team salaries under $40 million. The difference they are talking about affects about 4 teams (based on last year's salaries). All this talk about "small market teams like the Sabres not being able to compete with a $52 million cap figure" is stevestojan, IMO. Any cap reduces the difference between the "haves" and the "have nots," which will help. If the Lightning can win the Cup with $34M in salary, why can't we?
