  1. I agree. If Peterson is not there at 12, pick up an RB later on.
  2. With all of the large holes we need to fill, we can afford to take the best player available. Chances are, the best player available will also fill a need. One of the very good players should be there for us at 12. By the way, my draft strategy would always be to take the best player available. I would hate to reach for a player. Rather than reach for someone, just trade down.
  3. I certainly would give him a chance. The last time he played in the NFL (two seasons ago), he was better than any back we currently have on our roster. I did not see him in the CFL. It does not appear that he was a productive as I would have thought -- before or after his injury. Yet, the only way we could get him is if the Dolphins were to cut him. I do not see that happening. If he gets reinstated, the Dolphins probably are going to want to use him the same way they did a couple of years ago with Ronnie Brown.
  4. At the right price, I would bring him in.
  5. For the right price, I would go for it. Jones Career Stats
  6. Easy. Marv's favorite Buffalo Bill - Fred Jackson of Coe College, the fighting Kohawks.
  7. No question that he is the top TE prospect. If any of you did not see, watch the replay of the combine on the NFL Network if they replay it. He was head and shoulders above everyone else.
  8. It is not surprising. He is very, very accurate.
  9. Every team we played (including the Ravens) concentrated on defending the run when they played the Bills. This is not a knock on JP. It is just what happened. We better have a credible running game next year -- for JP's sake especially.
  10. He would be great for JP. Unfortunately, I do not forsee that he will be available when we would be in a position to take him. We have so many other pressing needs. Nevertheless, I would not complain if we picked him with our second pick (whether in the second round or if we snag a pick later in the first round. He had a great combine. It validated what I already know about him. Unfortunately, he got stuck in a pretty bad to mediocre offense these past two years in college.
  11. Peterson is a great back. If we to take the Bills at their word, however, they are looking for a more all purpose back. AP may be great catching the ball, but, if I recall correctly, he did not do much of that in college. I saw him interviewed the other day. He seems like a good kid that has been through a lot in his life.
  12. It makes sense. He already writes a blog for BB.com.
  13. He is a great player who will be long gone before our pick (unless we trade up). At this point, we have more pressing needs though.
  14. Read my several posts on the subject.
  15. I hope that you are correct. P.S. I also recall Dockery saying that he looked forward to blocking for our now former RB.
  16. Google Link to Several Articles
  17. I wonder if he is friends with Takeo and Takeo is giving him an earful about the Bills now that it appears the Bills want to get rid of him. In any event, you would think that the guy would at least come in for a visit. It does not hurt him to at least sit down with Marv/DJ et al. Very odd.
  18. A friend of mine told me about this draft site. It seems pretty good. In any event, here is their rankings of the RBs. Which RB do you think that we would target and which round? RB rankings per NFLdraftCountdown.com Here is Mel's RB rankings: Running Backs 1. Adrian Peterson,* Oklahoma 2. Marshawn Lynch,* California 3. Antonio Pittman,* Ohio State 4. Kenny Irons, Auburn 5. Brandon Jackson,* Nebraska 5a. Michael Bush,* Louisville 5b. Tony Hunt, Penn State 5c. Darius Walker,* Notre Dame 5d. Chris Henry,* Arizona 5e. Dwayne Wright,* Fresno State 5f. Lorenzo Booker, Florida State
  19. Mr. Flea (how appropriate), let's agree to disagree.
  20. Exactly.
  21. Every time I ever watched Welker play, the guy made plays. He also returns punts. He is a good football player.
  22. As I said, I know that you were not going to agree with me, and I certainly do not agree with you. At the risk of infuriating you (which is a risk I will just have to take), we will see which one of us is correct after the 2007 season.
  23. You may want to read some of the comments from anonymous sources in various articles since the combine. P.S. We will see how delusional I am during the regular season in the fall.
