  1. I think Carmichael, if he doesn't land the Bears head coaching gig, is a lock to be our offensive coordinator.
  2. I would naturally assume that Rob Moore will come with him and coach our WRs. Maybe even Tyrone Wheatley coming in to coach our RBs (although Wheatley would have an outside chance at being promoted at Syracuse if he stays).
  3. The BuffaloBills.com hype machine is getting us ready for Whisenhunt... http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2013/01/04/frank-reich-on-whisenhunt-horton/
  4. Ugh. I can't stand how perfect Lovie Smith is for this team and how we are clearly going in Whisenhunt's direction.
  5. Also, I cant seem to shake the thought that the reason they are doing all of their interviews in Arizona is because, come Monday, they're going to fly back with Whisenhunt in tow.
  6. This is unfortunately true. Imagine yourself in a situation where you are tasked to hire someone and you're given the 5-6 candidates in advance. Some you are very familiar with, some not so much. In your mind, you've already made your selection...but you still will go through the interview process just in case. 95% of the time, you end up going with the guy/gal you originally planned on going with unless someone totally surprises you. The Bills decided on Whisenhunt awhile back, methinks. They're just going through the rest of the interviews to see if any "surprises" pop up.
  7. Dude. Why did it take me so long to notice Henchman 21 in your avatar? Love it.
  8. Yay for conflicting information! Mary Kay Cabot ‏@MaryKayCabot #Syracuse hc doug marrone has interviewed w/ #browns. Is interviewing w/#bills maybe today. Looks poise to go pro.
  9. That would be par for the course, wouldn't it? Not only do we settle on Whisenhunt, we don't even get his star defensive coordinator.
  10. Cue the Price is Right horn. Tim Graham ‏@ByTimGraham No consensus, but Whisenhunt buzz loudest so far RT@KingSeanRobert is there consensus amongst ppl in the know on next bills coach?
  11. Everybody aboard the Whisenhunt train!
  12. I knew it was you, John. You broke my heart.
  13. If food were the determining factor for Reid, he would have signed with us. Duffs n' garbage plates every day.
  14. It would seem like, as of this moment, Whisenhunt is by far the favorite...but then again he and Horton have been the only two to interview. If we are still hearing how much the Bills like him after Monday, then you know he's a slam dunk to come here.
  15. It looks like Whisenhunt is the most universally hated candidate. His signing looks more imminent now.
  16. When the Bills hire Whisenhunt, this board is going to be seething.
  17. ...a mission to pretend that Chip Kelly hasn't been their #1 target this whole time...
  18. If we did manage to get all three, I think we would have cornered the market on bald coaches. As a quickly balding young gentlemen, I'm in favor of such a move.
  19. We already met the Rooney Rule by interviewing Horton. I think there is genuine interest here from both sides.
  20. Well Buffalo. If you really want him, get him this weekend as I doubt the Chargers will make a move on a HC until they have a GM in place.
  21. I think that's when you give Horton the "Assistant Head Coach" title.
  22. Holy crap. This. This. And more of this. Jackson got screwed out of his HC job in Oakland but is a player's coach and is very creative. Darren McFadden was not the same player after Hue Jackson's influence was taken away from him...imagine Jackson coming up with plays for Spiller? That would be tremendous. Lovie Smith: HC Hue Jackson: OC Rod Marinelli: DC That is what we call a tremendous step up from Gailey, Wanny and Modkins/Gailey.
  23. Totally agree with this. From the looks of it, Horton is being passed around as the token Rooney Rule interview and won't get a HC gig this year. If we hire Whisenhunt, odds are Horton comes with him and gets named Assistant HC/DC and gets to put together an aggressive, blitzing Defense that will hopefully maximizes the potential we have on D. He'd also likely bring in Frank Reich (making everyone in Buffalo happy), Russ Grimm and John McNulty to help with our offense as assistants. As for Lovie, if we hire him we would likely get Gill Byrd to coach our secondary (and a HUGE boost to re-signing Jairus) as well as Mike Tice to work our offensive line, Dave Toub to work our special teams and possibly Rusty Jones coming back to run our strength and conditioning program. My only concern here is I don't want that meathead Tice calling the offensive plays like he did last year in Chicago so Lovie would have to get us a much better coordinator.
