Just something I've noticed over the years, but the Buffalo Bills often tip their hand at who they are interested in (via free agency or the draft) with articles or opinion pieces on their official website. Almost like they are trying to get the fans pumped up over one person or another. I remember seeing this a lot with free agency with certain players getting mentioned and hyped up on BB.com only to visit a few days later and sign. All over BB.com right now? Geno Smith. In fact, this is the first time I can remember BB.com actually posting a full article about how they are going to meet with a player in the draft a full week before it even happens. All of this could be nothing of course but I just get this feeling that Geno is the guy the Bills have targeted in this draft. Methinks by hell or high water, he's going to be a Bill.

If it makes perfect sense then its a guarantee the Bills won't do it.

Fins have a shiny new stadium to fund, they need to start filling them seats. A big flashy offseason spending spree is the way to do it.

Aside from one random twitter speculation, was there ever any confirmation the Bills were even interested in Smith? Or any CBs for that matter?

The only place that reported he was a FA target (aside from Chris Brown postulating on BB.com the Bills could use him) was Pro Football Central which has been exposed as a garbage website.

I think Brandon Moore was only playing under a 2-3 million a year contract last year. That would be totally acceptable to me as a stop-gap Guard.

So with Lawson and Bradham being penciled in as our starting OLBs, I think that decreases the chance we pick Jarvis Jones, Barkevious Mingo or any other OLB at #8.

Interesting to note, but apparently he visited yesterday and signed this morning. Kinda strange to not get any wind of this until right now.

I do appreciate his very public hatred of the Patriots organization.

I mentioned this in the other thread, but Lawson is a tremendous cover linebacker. Won't generate a lot of sacks but he blankets TEs and slot WRs.

Nice! He's not a guy who gets a lot of pressure on QBs but is noted for his excellent pass coverage. Great move.

I hear where you're coming from, but remember last season when we were going to "steamroll" the Jets, Fins and (laughably) the Patriots after our big offseason? Everyone anointed us playoff-bound and optimism was everywhere. You'll see the same thing projected for Miami and a lot of other big spenders this offseason. One Week One rolls around, the projections are all worthless.

How is everyone forgetting TJ Graham? Or is he merely an extension of the Nix-whipping?

The big problem with Heyward-Bay has been his route running and inconsistent hands. Send him on a deep out pattern? The guy is golden and can make magic happen. Send him on a five yard cross route over the middle? Completely lost.

Damn, I predicted 8pm until the first "Why are the Bills doing nothing" thread of free agency.
