It wasn’t the “3rd string chump” that the Bills struggled against today. 18 of 45 for 220, 2 pics, 4 sacks, 1 sustained drive for a TD, etc. If the D puts up those numbers against any of those 3, I like the Bills’ chances. the game was close only due to 3 turnovers (1 of which was the fumble TD) and short fields due to long INT returns and a long punt return.

Tip of the hat to the Fins. They came to play. Yes the Bills did their damndest to kill themselves with a terrible second quarter and start of third, but the Fins took every advantage. D played well overall, with few big plays (and helped by some drops). O needs to get their sh!t together, but this game goes to show that they can play badly for half the game and still score 34. Imagine if they played good for a whole game! anyway, a win is a win. On to next week. Go Bills.

Was listening to WGR via Alexa yesterday and one of the ads was for a football podcast called Block Forever, hosted by Ryan Kalil (long time OL for the Panthers). I checked it out and was pleasantly surprised. Not your usual "real time reaction to last week's games" kind of program. Each ~45 minute episode has some thoughtful, engaging in-depth conversations with 2 guests - one is usually a "big name", either a star player or coach/exec, and the other is a lineman. Some nice Bills content too, with 3 episodes (so far) featuring a Bill - Sean McDermott, Mitch Morse, and Brandon Beane.

I know baseball tried to do something with the all-star game where the winning league would be the home team for the World Series, but I don't recall anything where the pro bowl winner determined where a Super Bowl would be played. Those sites are determined years in advance. While not technically in the Pro Bowl game, there a very promising Patriots rookie RB, Robert Edwards, who badly damaged his knee in a rookie flag football game on sand during Pro Bowl week in the late 90s and never played again. Damaged to the point where he almost lost his leg below the knee.
