  3. For the first time since 1974, a 47 year dry spell, I was finally able to attend a Bills game in Orchard Park. It was a quick trip, but loved every minute of it. The fact that I was able to enjoy it with my daughter made it that much better. I live in the Chicago area, and my daughter is in Columbus OH. I drove to her on Friday and we drove from Columbus to Buffalo on Saturday in the rain. Our first stop was the Bills Store, where we grabbed warm winter hats and a few other items. The store was pretty packed, and former Bill's player Pete Metzellars was in there walking around buying stuff. Friendly guy and graciously posed for pics with some fans who recognized him. From there we drove to our hotel in Amherst...still raining but now mixed with some ice/snow pellets. I lived in East Amherst as a kid in the early 70s (hence the 1974 last game), so we took a drive past the old house. Not sure my daughter got as much out of it as I did, but she was impressed when I pointed out the house where Rick Martin lived for a short time around the corner from us. Had a great dinner at 12 Gates brewery. Had a hard time finding it, but worth the effort. Ordered a Pancho's Legacy lager, in honor or Pancho Billa. Highly recommend the Barbacoa Rice Bowl. Since neither the Sabres nor Bandits were in town, we caught a Buffalo Beauts game (womens professional hockey). Rink was right next to the hotel, so no need to drive around in the icy snowy weather. Game day was awesome! Cold, but we were prepared for that. Picked up some tailgating supplies, were parked in lot 7 by 9:45, walked all around the lots soaking in the atmosphere (even found Pinto Ron's setup in the Hammer lot), and went into the stadium shortly after the gates opened. Great seats in the 100s on the Bills side near the goal line on the tunnel end of the stadium. Great group of loud enthusiastic fans around us, only a few obnoxious drunks, and a Bill's win! Stayed until the very end and hung out near the end zone by the field as long as possible. Traffic getting out of the lot was as expected, but we were back in Columbus before 10PM. Awesome weekend, and we both said it will become an annual tradition from here on out. Go Bills!

  14. So I'd say the odds are pretty good that it will be Trubisky vs. the Panther. Why? Because I have tickets to see this game, which will be my first Bills game in person since 1974, so naturally Josh will be hurt. smh.

  16. Now watching Get Back on Disney+. This is essentially a 9 hr fly on the wall documentary pieced together by Peter Jackson from audio and video recordings made over the course of 3 weeks in 1969 while the Beatles were writing and rehearsing for a planned live TV "come back" performance. If you are a Beatles fan, or are curious about a glimpse into what was essentially the final days of an iconic band, this is a must see. I am 1/3 of the way through, and am totally fascinated. A couple of observations: - Paul & John absolutely drive this bus, with George and Ringo (in particular) as passengers. George even gets off the bus at one point, quitting the band about a week into the project. - Yoko...ugh - Very cool watching them work through the early stages of what will become all-time classic songs. The scene where Paul is working out Let It Be on the piano, and the fact that it's portrayed primarily as background audio while the main scene is John and the director discussing stage options for the live performance, is amazing. I was like "People! He is writing Let It Be RIGHT NOW and no one cares!" Great stuff

  20. +1 on this right here. On 1st & Goal from the 6, if he bounces outside he walks into endzone. Instead he cuts back in and right into the arms of the D...and since none of our RBs can break a tackle, it's now 2nd & Goal from the 6 (followed by a sack, followed by an incomplete. followed by a missed FG)

  24. I had no desire to watch the new "in season" version of Hard Knocks on HBO, but happened to catch part of the episode that featured the Bills game. As much as I hated that game, I gotta say that I love Frank Reich. There was a scene where he was eating dinner the night before the game with Bruce Smith and Steve Tasker, and what he said about the talk he was going to give his team that night was maybe the greatest bit of Hard Knocks I've ever seen. Frank gets it, knows what matters and what doesn't, and comes across as a genuine guy. Hard Knocks in general...meh. Frank Reich on Hard Knocks? A+
