1. 1. The Bills always come up small when it matters most.

    2. Travis henry makes the worst mistakes at the worst possible times.

    3. Travis is horrible at blitz pickup, and is responsible for HOW MANY hits on drew?

    4. Josh Reed comes up small too. The guy can't catch when it matters most.

    5. Don't be fooled by a few nice passes from Drew. He's the King of coming up small.

    6. The Bills appear to be jinxed. How many times does the worst possible thing happen at the worst possible time? How many times do the Bills get the worst calls against them at the worst possible time? How many other teams in this league can have a playcall miscommunication on 4th down after a timeout? How  many times do non-calls happen that should have turned the game?

    7. No other teams have snatched victory from the jaws of defeat as often as the Bills.

    8. 3 AFC losses do not put us in position to win a wildcard. And there's no way in hell we're going to win the division.

    9. This team is full of losers who don't know how to win. How can you deny it? The coaches did not lose this game. THey called a good game.

    10. Coy Wire is merely a poor man's larry izzo. THat is, he's not as good a STer as izzo, and just as bad a defender. The man has no business as a starting saftey in the NFL. When was the last time he made  a play?

    11. We're going to hear all the same excuses all week. And nothing is going to change next week. We have key injuries now on our line, so expect the backups to fug up royally in the coming weeks. The baton will be passed to the next few people who will find a way to lose for us.

    12. None of us have the right anymore to blame gregg williams and kevin gilbride for our heartless losses last year. Yes, williams' gameday choices often blew, and gilbride was a lousy, stubborn playcaller. But they still only had heartless losers to work with. Now we can see that more clearly.

    13. The personnel team's good decisions aside, they've blown it royally at the safety position.

I'll leave it at 13, which is perfect for this team. The Bills will finish 7-9, or 6-10, hand Dallas a high 1st round pick, and the Bills team will continue to believe that Drew gives us the best chance to win in 2005. Sleep well.

I gotta agree with all but 9 and 12. I strongly disagree with those 2, but strongly agree with the 11 others...

  2. Since you can now set pre-snap adjustments for defensive player assignments, set a double- team on Harrison manually on every passing down, have your MLB drop into medium middle zones often, put your best corner on Reggie Wayne (since you're doubling Marvin), and rush with a DL. If your DL does not pressure the qb, try to stand your man up and jump as Manning begins to throw. This strategy will basically challenge the colts to use Edgerin James to beat you (which he still could  )

  3. Ther eis no question that the Jags D did contain the Bills in a dominating fastion holding the Bills to just 10 points.  Guess what... turnovers and sacks count.  You call that "luck" I call it good D.  Smae with the Bills.  Their D was dominating all game, except on the last drive.

But in no way was the Bills O dominating in any way shape or form.  And its clearly obvious that this needs to be pointed out because (if you remember the original discussion) the whole thing was about the offensive "dominance" refered to in this mysterious game 1.  Dominance that clearly never existed.

    52622

The reference was to Physical dominance, ie wearing them out, having them on their heels, controlling the clock etc.

The reference was not to mental or overall dominance.

    Enough already

  4. They dominated?  In what sense?  The D played well, the offense was pathetic.  A team who dominates the game should give some indication of doing so.  Henry didn't get near 100 yards (team only had 95 total rushing yards, 242 total *choke*), and you scored 10 points!  The only think I saw that was dominating, was the Jax defense.

Maybe you meant the Bills defense, but they folded like a lawn chair after Oct 1st on that last drive.

So you see why I think he meant game 1 of last year - ya know a game in which the Bills actually DID dominate someone!

As far as your comment: yeah you are right

thats not negative at all.  its being very friendly, along with some nice helpful suggestions. :)

    52517

Maybe you should ask him yourself.... We dominated Physically on offense meaning we ran the ball right at them and continued to do it wether they knew it was coming or not. We had a huge T.O.P. edge in the game, and the only thing that stopped our drives were mental miscues. I realize you are not a Bills fan so you wouldn't have seen this in depth into the game in week 1.

  5. So your first comment doesn't count huh?  Ya know, the one that STARTED it all?

I see nothing here about a running game do you?  I guess you just made that up.  If you want the Bills to do the "same thing they did in week 1" - which is lose.  Ok then, you are right. =)

In week one, buffalo dominated from a physical standpoint on O, even though they lost. This is what I , and ultimately Simon, was refering to. I'm sorry you couldn't grasp that mr. reading is fundamental.

re: my response to Helmet... I see nothing negative about what I said.

  6. If you say so.  Sounds like he was refering to week 1 of LAST year.  But clearly its not specified.

Irregardless, maybe you should consider that and stand down your nuclear missles the next time someone makes a post.  JMHO.

    52441

Actually it was you who began the petty attempt at reading comprehension violations patrol :)

Also, I know that if Simon wanted to point out week one of LAST season, he would have stated "week 1 of last season". That was also not a game where we "physically punished" the Pats via the running game, so that was another clue for ya B)

  7. I definitely agree on your point about Coy Wire. I think the Pat's staff is simply drooling over the possibilities of abusing him in all phases. The Bills defensive staff will need to have game-planned in a way to "cover him up" creatively.

I'm a little more hesitant than you Simon in regards to getting the Pats into the 3-4. The 3-4 provides them more avenues for "mentally" attacking our offensive line. There are many more masked coverages and blitz possibilities that can be run from the 3-4 and it will require our O-line to be communicating at their highest level, which they have not been able to accomplish to date.

    Good post...

  8. That's unfortunate. Especially because it's no real fault of the crowd. Truth is...the one thing missing in the crowd is confidence in the team. There was a time when the crowd never worried about whatever predicament the team was in because it knew the team could pull out of that predicament. That feeling hasn't been around for years.

You can still hear it. Usually during the first two or three series of a game. But it's shortlived because we never score seven on our opening drive. In fact, outside of preseason, I can't remember the last time we scored a TD with an opening drive.

Somewhere about our fourth drive, after maybe our defense has given us the ball at the  opponent's 30, while we're lining up for a field goal from the 21...a field goal we're not even sure we're gonna get...the Eveready batteries die and that's that.

    50249

I'm sure that's part of the story, but the crowd I speak of was there leading up to (from Levy's arrival onward), and long after the glory days on into the late nineties.

  9. All ye know and all ye need to know:

BB: We have talked about Buffalo. They are a good team. It is a division game. It is on the road. The last time we went out there, we got killed. I hope we can be a little more competitive than that this time. We will find out whether we can or not. It won’t be easy there. They play well at home. They are a good team there. They do a lot of things. They take advantage of the crowd. We had four false-start penalties. Jacksonville had three or four, whatever it was. Bledsoe drew us offsides with a hard count. They do a lot of things there at home that any good team would do to take advantage of the crowd. We will have to deal with it and we will have to do a better job with it than we did the last time. We were on the one-yard line twice and couldn’t get any points. If we can’t do any better than that, then we will probably get about the same result.

    50239

Yeah, it's a shame though that our crowd used to be twice as loud, hardcore , and saved the bickering til after the games. We could be a lot more of a factor than even BB mentions...

  10. No I am not wrong on Moulds at all.  There ARE open WR's on most plays but bledsoe locks onto them.

If it takes time to develop someone, then start NOW. Not next year or the next or the next.

Moulds is no where near what he was in 2000, 2001 or 2002.  Sorry man go back and watch the film.  He has nothing compared to where he was.

    46938

I have plus I've seen him live in camp. Also I've been following him in camp closely ever since he became a bill so I have something to compare it to. Believe me, he is every bit the WR he was in 2002. I'll give you that he's not at the '98 level but that's beside the point.
