  1. How the heck is Larry Allen the leading vote getter among guards???? It seems they don't even bother to watch when it comes to linemen. They just get in on name recognition. That's crap.
  2. The problem with the salaries is that the money is being made, so if the players don't get it, who does? Owners? TV?
  3. Talent left boxing????? I suppose you mean the heavyweight division. In that case, it's been a LOT longer than 5 years. As for the lighter weights, there's so much talent out there! I seriously considered buying the 3rd Morales-Barrerra fight when it was on recently. Those 2 are an example of talented fighters who are great to watch. Check out guys like Bernard Hopkins and Antonio Tarver who alse epitomize talented boxers. There's way more talent out there than you realize.
  4. You might be referring to Barkley's 3 over David Robinson that did in San Antonio while he was in Phoenix, the 3 that sent them to the NBA Finals. Mario Elie made a 3 that sent Phoenix packing and completed a 4-3 series win after being down 3-1.
  5. Maybe the TBD coaches will vote you in.
  6. I'd take college basketball over the pros any time. That doesn't mean that ALL pro basketball is boring. Like Kelly said in his initial post, watch a good team like Phoenix play and there's no way you can say ALL of the NBA games are boring and that nobody plays team basketball anymore.
  7. Good post, TravelingDad48. Spikes probably will be there along with Fletcher. Fletcher's performance this year has gone noticed by many in the media, and I think he'll get his due this time. Adams should go, as he has been very good this year. Williams has been spotty and is not as legitimate a candidate as The Keg. Moorman is going to get squeezed out again in a tough, competitive race for the lone punter spot. It's like how the WRs in the NFC used to be so stocked and it was hard to break through. I'm also rooting for McGee, who has certainly done enough on the field to earn a shot at the Pro Bowl. We'll see what happens later on. Offense? Nobody. McGahee hasn't had enough time in and Shelton had an atrocious start to the season, though he is playing much better right now. Moulds has been okay, I just don't know if he's done enough for a Pro Bowl bid.
  8. Mobley was just too inconsistent. He was good for 25 one night, 8 the next. Franchise and Yao seemed to be developing a nice chemistry together. When the grossly overhyped 1st meeting between Yao and Shaq took place, it was Franchise who was the star, making the plays in overtime to help give Houston the win and finishing up with 45 points, or something close to it.
  9. Way to go! I'm in the championship game in 2 leagues this coming week and a semifinal game in another. I'd sure love to end up with 3 league champions out of my 13 teams.
  10. Congrats on getting that far. My team was hamstrung by lackluster stats from Clinton Portis and a few others. Oh well, maybe next year I'll do better. I certainly can't do much worse. From 4th to dead last.........ugh!
  11. I really do feel that the team that finishes the NFL championship game with the most points is a lock to take the title.
  12. Thailog80 Mark VI Simon Jay Rubeo ICE (gotta shake things up) BF in Indiana Alaska Darin Rico BADOLBILZ stevestojan Lori LABillzFan Now that's a starting 11! Oops! Sorry. Okay, 11 plus the all-important "12th man".
  13. Ooooh! You said the N word. I'm telling! Being a Rockets fan in those days you mentioned was excrutiating and exhilirating at the same time. Winning tough playoff series against Utah, Phoenix (what a comeback that was!), and San Antonio were great moments. Losing tough playoff series, like when Stockton's shot took Houston out of the playoffs the one year, hurt a lot though. But, that's how it goes. I can remember even back to Ralph Sampson's putback that took the Lakers out of the playoffs and propelled Houston to the NBA Finals, where they lost to the Celtics. When I became a Rockets fan (I used to root for the Kansas City Kings with Phil Ford and Otis Birdsong leading the way before the Rockets), they had guys like Allen Leavell, Mitchell Wiggins, Lewis Lloyd, and John Lucas leading them, along with Sampson, of course.
  14. The postseason is a LONG way away and many things can happen between now and then. My Rockets are playing better with McGrady, though, than I thought they would. Still, Yao has to learn how to REBOUND!!!!!! Besides that, he's as good as any center in the game. Funny thing is, though, that rebounding is perhaps THE most important function of a center! Get tougher, Yao. I still miss Cutty Mobley, Cato, and, most of all, Stevie Franchise.
  15. Party!!!!!!!!!! Now we have a contact at Penn State who can get us tickets!
  16. Yeah, but what did Jim Kelly ever do for us?
  17. No, you shouldn't have.
  18. Tim Euhus
  19. What are you trying to say here? I don't get it.
  20. Ah, but the servant waits, while the master bates.
  21. I don't understand this.
  22. Happy birthday, slash! In honor of your day, I offer you my special new avatar, with a holiday flavor: Frosty the snowman using a white cowbell during a snowstorm.
