With the Cowboys' offensive line, Barry would have put that record so far out there, NO player would have a shot at it for a long time. It is amazing that he could be as dominating as he was on a team that threw the ball often (3 1,000 yard receivers in one season, if I recall) with an average AT BEST offensive line.
Switch the players' circumstances (Barry in Dallas, Emmitt in Detroit) and I think we'd see Barry obliterate the rushing record easily.
