  1. Tough call, BGiM. We do need big guys up front, and Lord knows I've been one of the most vocal about upgrading the lines here for years, but we also have to be wary of drafting for need. What I'm hearing from the DT-starved fans here is akin to what I heard last year about "we NEED to draft Mike Nugent". After all, he was a one of a kind placekicker and all that crap. Yeah, he sure wowed the world last year, eh? Here's what I think. If you want to draft for need, then move up and get either the best LT prospect in years (Ferguson) or the best pass rusher to come along since Peppers (Williams). That would be a bold move to upgrade the team and bring in an impact player. I know Ngata is a big guy w/ some athleticism, and I do like the guy, but people are losing sight of something w/ the whole 2 gap DT issue. Was there this much excitement and clamor over the last couple of big run stuffers we brought here (Ted Washington and Pat Williams)? Were either of these guys praised as saviors when they arrived in Buffalo, or did we have to break the bank to acquire them? Neither were taken 8th overall, were they? If the Bills do nothing more in free agency to address DT, then I guess Ngata has to be a very solid candidate w/ the 8th pick. I personally think we could target a guy like Babatunde Oshinowo of Stanford a bit later and still use our higher pick to land a quality player, whether it's on the OL (trade up for D'Brickashaw Ferguson or down for one of the interior OL like Jean-Gilles or Mangold, or trade down and take Winston), DL (trade down and get Hali, trade up for Super Mario), a skill player (like Davis) or the secondary (Huff).
  2. Don't try to stop the rush to judgment.
  3. Can't make it for about another month or so, fellas. Rock, you know what to do.
  4. What? Go 2 for 2 in getting GMs fired? Why not?
  5. You're right @ home, then. No big deal.
  6. Isn't the 8th pick rated a 1400?
  7. You're probably right, though not about the Jets fans @ the draft being happy.
  8. Other than Reggie Bush or D'Brickashaw Ferguson, there's NO player in this draft that I'd take over Mario Williams. None.
  9. ...to be revisited in a few years...
  10. I may try to make that one. I just wish they'd have the meetings on a different day so I wouldn't have to take so much time off work to go to one.
  11. They do? Cool. There's nothing in the Baltimore area.
  12. I think The Simpsons is still very funny, and it has been great for some spot on satire over its lengthy run.
  13. Not bad. Other than both attending Penn State, what have you observed to make you think Haynes is anything like Hali?
  14. ESPN.com's John Clayton reports OL Melvin Fowler reached a three-year, $7.2 million contract agreement with the Buffalo Bills. He will probably take over the starting center job for free agent OC Trey Teague (Bills), who is not expected to re-sign.
  15. Trade up for Ferguson? Yes!! Trade down for Jean-Gilles? Yes!! Trade down for Justice? NO!!!
  16. Tough call. I like both guys. Colledge is a very underrated player who I think can become a really good pro. Whitworth has the measurables, and is also very aggressive; he should be a heck of a run blocker! I suppose if I had to choose one, I'd say Colledge, but they're both solid prospects.
  17. I know. WHERE ARE THE BIG NAME SIGNINGS? HURRY UP!
  18. I like all but 2a. He's coming off a subpar year where he struggled to stay in shape and played poorly; could be another Mike Williams waiting to happen.
  19. I like your 1b. Your 2nd rounder is okay, and the 3rd (he won't be there then) would be a nice coup. I really dislike the 1a pick though.
  20. He sucks too :overusedheadslapsmiley:
  21. Overrated. Unless there's a trade in the works, he's out of our reach. Let's hope there's a trade in the works.
  22. Let's hope it won't take that long. I know I'll be there, God willing.
  23. Yeah, really Bart. Why would anyone wait 90 minutes to start complaining?
  24. Wow, and I just tried to call him! I didn't realize it was his birthday today. Have a great one, Steve. Hope to see you and "your Lisa" again next month.
