  1. Not overly ridiculous, but for them to pass up a quality TE like Leonard Pope for Joseph would be a bad move. They need the TE more.
  2. Maybe so. It would be nice if that team were the Bills. Setterstrom w/ a 4th, after landing Lutui or Spencer w/ a 3rd (I think Joseph is gone in the 2nd) after getting McCargo w/ a 2nd after getting Michael Huff in the first? I'd call that a very successful start to our draft.
  3. Lawson is a beast of a pass rusher who should do well as a 3-4 LB, ala Merriman and Ware from last year. He'd command a first round pick though, and I'd hope we use that pick on a lineman or to upgrade the secondary. If we use it on a pass rusher, I hope it's part of a trade down to get more picks for more help.
  4. I'd like to see Watkins drafted by the Bills.
  5. Gosselin is very good w/ the mock drafts. Let's just hope he's right.....again.
  6. Setterstrom's stock has really dropped since the Senior Bowl, meaning we could land him later on and use one of the earlier picks on a stud guard to put opposite him, maybe Lutui, Spencer, or Joseph. A bad record would give us another high draft pick to worry about. Maybe we'd get lucky and get Calvin Johnson, the awesome WR from Georgia Tech. But, let's not get ahead of ourselves. There's still THIS year to deal w/, and the Bills could surprise us all.
  7. And to think, they could've had Ryan Sims instead of that bust Kevin Williams.
  8. Man, if we landed him, I'd be thrilled! I don't know if it will turn out that way, but it sure would be nice if it did.
  9. I don't think trade values are a constant, William. Some years, you have good depth in the draft and it may be tougher to get good trade value for moving up/down. Some years, you get a crappy draft, so teams are forced to reach for a player if they want to move up and pay dearly for it. This year, I think this is a very deep draft in a number of positions (weak @ WR, top heavy @ QB, RB, but pretty solid everywhere else), so I could see the Bills getting multiple picks in this draft for moving down as opposed to getting a future pick.
  10. Agreed, unless we throw in a pick, there's no way the Vikes would give up 3 high picks for one pick, even if it is 8th overall. They need more than one player.
  11. Will ya stop wasting your gift on such trivial stuff and just give us the Powerball numbers?
  12. There's hardly a dropoff though. It's not like the OTs, where there's D'Brickashaw Ferguson, then a dropoff to Winston Justice, Eric Winston, and the others. Joseph, Spencer, Jean-Gilles and Lutui aren't separated by much.
  13. I like both Spencer and Lutui, but if given the choice, I'd go w/ Deuce. Deuce, since losing over 40 lbs, has seen his mobility improve tremendously, to the point where he is now noted for pulling and, when he does, looking to destroy whoever he sees. Great attitude, hard worker, and is still learning the position.
  14. Well said, Promo. The wins will come, as long as you put together a stable organization.
  15. I did mention Latui in the 2nd round earlier. Of all the guard prospects, I think he has the most upside, meaning he hasn't come close to reaching his full potential yet. I think he'll be a heck of a pro, and I'd love to see the Bills draft him in round 2.
  16. No time limit, but don't take that as a reason to procrastinate, Marv.
  17. Add in his proposed move to get the pick necessary to grab Latui, and I'd say this is one heck of a draft.
  18. We had a few more pieces in place than we do now, Cajun. This team can use help all over the place, so they can go in a number of directions w/ their first round pick. Let's just hope that the direction they take is "up".
  19. Even if the Bills are to draft St Haloti of Ngata, the line would still be "inexperienced", as you say. Even if we drafted Winston Justice w/ the 8th pick, the OL would be "inexperienced". Like I've said before, I'm all for adding the most talent we can by getting great value out of our picks.
  20. I hear ya. Psycho Ward 86, while a diehard fan, does not get the allure of the draft. She knows to basically leave me alone on draft weekend.
  21. Ah, William. You must've missed my last post, so here it is again... It may have gotten buried.
  22. Production-wise, we haven't upgraded the position yet, considering the year Travis had. Now, do I think McGahee is a better back than Travis? Yes, but he has to show and prove. Coming into minicamp and showing that he's ready to run w/ the same passion and attitude he showed 2 years ago will go a long way towards showing and proving. If that doesn't happen, Willis will continue to give us a 1,000 yard rusher (barely) whose timid running style will make him useless in the red zone, like last season. It's up to him to show and prove, which I think he'll do this year.
  23. I'll take that even further, Tasker. It's not an "either/or" situation w/ me. I don't want the Bills to forsake the offensive line or the defensive line. I simply want them to get the most out of the draft picks they have. If we can land a stud DB, TE, or pass rushing DE/LB in the first, then I'm all for it, just as long as we also look to bolster the lines. There's a bunch of great players we could choose in rounds 2 and 3 that will help along the lines. Imagine if we could land Huff in the first, Deuce Latui @ guard in the 2nd, and then use the 3rd round picks on the best DT (McCargo, Oshinowo, Mahelona, Lewis should all be available) and OT (Scott, Whitworth, or Trueblood would be great to pick up here) available. I'd be okay w/ a draft that brings us a starting FS w/ playmaking ability, a stud guard who I believe still has yet to play his best football, and a run stuffing DT and solid left tackle prospect in the first 3 rounds.
  24. Fear not, Ed. They're both covering the draft.
