  2. It seems that running for governor in his home state is exactly what Ramaswamy intends to do, according to several reports, with an announcement potentially coming very soon. Ohio entrepreneur Ramaswamy, who grew up in the Cincinnati area and currently lives in Columbus, he also "sees himself as an executive." It, therefore, makes a ton of sense that he'd set his sights on the governor's race. It also makes a ton of sense for him to make the move right now, as he has a fundraising machine in place from his presidential run, and his public profile, particularly in the realm of politics, has never been higher. Add in the fact that he's likely to have Trump's full support, and it could be a case of "now or never" for Ramaswamy. Of course, he's only 39, so there's plenty of time for him to run, but he's smart enough to know it's best to act when your political stock is high. And it's hard to imagine a scenario in which his could be any higher. https://redstate.com/terichristoph/2025/01/17/vivek-ramaswamy-run-for-governor-n2184484 .

  4. National Archives rebuffs Biden’s attempt to add Equal Rights Amendment to Constitution. The National Archives poured cold water Friday on President Biden’s declaration that the Equal Rights Amendment is now part of the Constitution, saying courts and Mr. Biden’s own Justice Department have rejected that notion. Mr. Biden issued a statement saying he believed that 38 states have ratified the ERA, which would be enough to make it the 28th Amendment. But the National Archives and Records Administration, the official keeper of the Constitution as a document, said it stands by its decision — announced last month — that the ratifications didn’t happen before the deadline. “Court decisions at both the district and circuit levels have affirmed that the ratification deadlines established by Congress for the ERA are valid. Therefore, the Archivist of the United States cannot legally publish the Equal Rights Amendment,” the agency’s leaders said at the time. The Archives said Friday that has been “a long-standing position” and Mr. Biden’s announcement doesn’t change “the underlying legal and procedural issues.” The key point is whether the ERA, which was passed by Congress in 1972 and was sent to the states for ratification, has amassed the 38 states needed. Just 35 had ratified the amendment by 1979, which was the deadline set by Congress. Capitol Hill then approved a three-year extension of the deadline, but that came and went with no new ratifications. In 2017, Nevada belatedly voted for approval, followed by Illinois in 2018 and Virginia in 2020. ERA backers said that was enough to cross the finish line. But that argument was rejected by federal courts that ruled the deadline had passed. Mr. Biden’s Justice Department has also ruled that the deadlines are valid and the post-deadline ratifications cannot be counted. https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2025/jan/17/national-archives-rebuffs-biden-attempt-add-equal-/? Charles Cooke tweets, “I’m trying to get inside the head of anyone—Biden included, if he’s aware of it—who thought that it would be a good idea for the president of the United States to tweet out that he was unilaterally declaring that the Constitution had been amended. It’s so deliciously humiliating,” adding, “And not just humiliating for Biden and his team. Humiliating for all those people who said Biden was a decent guy who respects the law and America’s institutions and were rewarded with the student-loan grab, eviction moratorium, pardon of Hunter, and now this. It’s hilarious.” https://x.com/charlescwcooke/status/1880301999440433232 Ed Morrissey writes: More Biden: I Hereby Commute ERA’s 1982 Deadline Too. Presidents don’t get to overrule the courts, nor do they get to declare what is and is not in the Constitution. What makes this so outrageous is that Biden just warned against executive abuse of authority less than two days ago in his farewell address to the nation, proclaiming himself the hero of checks and balances https://hotair.com/ed-morrissey/2025/01/17/more-biden-i-hereby-commute-eras-1982-deadline-too-n3798912
  5. Extremely cold weather will force Trump’s inauguration inside for first time in 40 years. Donald Trump will be sworn in as the 47th president inside the Capitol Rotunda on Monday, when a polar vortex is forecast to grip the nation’s capital. The president-elect announced the change of plans in a noontime Truth Social post Friday, writing in part: “There is an Arctic blast sweeping the Country. I don’t want to see people hurt, or injured, in any way. It is dangerous conditions for the tens of thousands of Law Enforcement, First Responders, Police K9s and even horses, and hundreds of thousands of supporters that will be outside for many hours on the 20th (In any event, if you decide to come, dress warmly!). “Therefore, I have ordered the Inauguration Address, in addition to prayers and other speeches, to be delivered in the United States Capitol Rotunda, as was used by Ronald Reagan in 1985, also because of very cold weather.” https://nypost.com/2025/01/17/us-news/extremely-cold-weather-forces-trumps-inauguration-day-inside/

  7. The five tech titans that will sit with Trump during inauguration and what their position means by Rob Crilly When Donald Trump is sworn in as the 47th president of the United States on Monday he will be surrounded by the tech titans he believes will deliver the jobs and free speech that will define his term. Jeff Bezos, Amazon founder and Washington Post proprietor, Elon Musk, the world's richest man, Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook founder, Sam Altman, the biggest name in AI, and Shou Chew, chief executive of TikTok, will all have positions of honor on the dais, according to a senior transition official. It means they have pride of place among the highest rank of VIPs, beside Trump's family and former presidents. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14292835/tech-trump-inauguration.html
  8. Arrogant Biden could care less about ‘oligarchs’ — he’s mad tech giants aren’t censoring for Democrats anymore by Rob Soave In his final remarks to the American people on Wednesday night, President Joe Biden launched a parting shot at the tech “oligarchy” that he says is taking over the country. Such arrogant and hypocritical remarks should be met with scorn by all those who languished under the program of social media censorship for the previous four years — a program largely forced on tech companies by the Biden White House, as an example of the very kind of merging of government and corporate power Biden now claims to oppose. “Today, an oligarchy is taking shape in America of extreme wealth, power and influence that literally threatens our entire democracy, our basic rights https://nypost.com/2025/01/16/opinion/arrogant-biden-could-care-less-about-oligarchs-hes-mad-tech-giants-arent-censoring-for-democrats-anymore/

  10. The Left isn't relenting, and they're going to keep fighting the GOP in order to keep men in women's sports, because they have no clue how insane that sounds to the rest of America. Media, reliably Leftist too, is helping out in that endeavor. Thankfully, Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares founds some time to work as an editor for The Richmond Times-Dispatch and he fixed their wildly misleading headline
