  1. +1 ... My handle says it all. Living in Florida, I *hate* the Blowfish. I do not want to hate Luck for 15 years.
  2. Ralph is cheap. J/K (but not really...) Happy B-Day, old man.
  3. What has Lloyd done this year? What did he do for his other seven seasons prior to last year? If you're gonna talk about "one year wonders," look at the guy you're hyping. Classic example.
  4. Lloyd is 30; Royal is 25. It's a groin injury and Royal is expected back after the bye. Hardly career ending. A healthy Lloyd has as many TDs this year as a hurt Royal. That would be zero. A healthy Lloyd has only 15 more catches than a hurt Royal. Could it be the messed up QB situation in Denver? Royal is a physical receiver who is a solid #2. I'm not getting the love for Lloyd -- One great year in nine. Glad we passed.
  5. I'm happy with this. I'd MUCH rather have Eddie Royal -- You know, the Denver WR who was drafted one spot *after* Hardly in 2008. I think he'd be a great complement to Stevie, and he's young. He has shown flashes, but given Denver's horrible situation and the fact that he's had at least three different QBs throwing to him in four years (Cutler, Orton, Tebow) -- I think he's underrated. He had a great rookie year and can move. I read a story on the wire the other day that he's on the block. I don't know if that changes with the Lloyd trade, but that's a guy for whom I could see us giving up a 4th. Why we're hanging on to Ruvell Martin is beyond me.
  6. Chan had this guy on his radar since the Senior Bowl. Looks like he's a better scout than these "analysts" you mention. Is there a way to lock the Bills' head coach into coaching at the Senior Bowl every year for the next decade?
  7. What really impressed me was his poise. That's one of the hardest positions in football to just "throw someone in to" and, all things considered, he aced it. You can start a raw QB and run more. You can start a raw WR and spread the ball around. You can start a raw RB and pass more. The same holds true for most defensive positions -- there's always a way to compensate. With offensive lines, teams always talk about the importance of "chemistry." This guy just came in and played solid football for 60 minutes -- as a rook -- in arguably the most difficult position on offense. I'm hardly punching his ticket to Canton, but I was pumped by what I saw. Every week, I have more and more faith in Buddy and Chan. Through five games, we don't miss Lynch or Evans one bit. That's a product of solid coaching -- and talent brought in by those coaches and scouts.
  8. Forgive me if this was brought up elsewhere, but wasn't Hairston drafted using the pick we got from Seattle for Lynch? I remember when this board exploded that we "only got a fourth" for him. Lynch's departure has helped Freddie thrive -- no, dominate -- and we have a pretty decent prospect on the OL, on the off-chance Sunday's performance wasn't a fluke. So far, Freddie is on pace for 1,920 rushing yards this year, and "Beast Mode" is on pace for 765. Not to mention passing yards (Freddie is on pace for 742 and Lynch 266). I'll bet anyone $20 we end up with the better end of that deal by year's end.
  9. It took a post like this to get me to join this site. I've been a bystander for years. Here's your "smoking gun" -- and no, it's not Peter Pan Guy. http://blogs.indystar.com/philb/2011/10/13/trade-wayne-or-mathis-not-so-fast/ So, a "suggestion" turned into a "rumor" ... which turned into five pages.
