Above average doesn't cut it. Mahomes has Kelce, the best pass catcher in the NFL. Burrow has Chase and maybe still Higgins. Josh Allen lost over 1,900 yards of production in a single offseason. I'm just sick over this. Beane had better have a plan because right now this looks like a 9-8 team.

I'm not happy with this move either but honestly I can't believe Beane would just make this move without something up his sleeve as I can't imagine his plan is to go into this season with what have now. Granted I'm not a fan of trading up to get a better WR prospect as no guarantee a rookie going to step in as a WR1 no matter who he is.

there was about a zero chance of Beane staying at 28 before this trade

It feels like Sammy Watkins all over again. As we moved SJ13 that off-season and added Watkins and Mike Williams. Needless to say it took for us to trade for Diggs before we ever got a WR1 back.

I've waited to post on this until I could find some positive spin, but I just can't. The Bills WR room, right now, consists of the 3rd option on the last-place 2023 Washington Commanders and a 5th-round slot receiver. That's it. The Buffalo Bills currently have ZERO elite weapons on offense.

I think Cooks and Kincaid are above average. Diggs isn't elite at least last we saw him he wasn't.

    how about:

    Odell Beckham UFA

If Thomas falls to late teens, trade #28 + our 2025 2nd to grab him

    or

    Odell Beckham UFA

    #28 Ladd McConkey

    Trade #60+ a 2025 3rd to low/mid 40s and grab Franklin, Legette or Polk

I'd rather have Michael Thomas than Odell but honestly both are probably better as #3 WRs at this point in their careers.

but, but, but...."he's not going anywhere"!!

Clearly McBeane had enough of this guy dogging it down the stretch.

He will make a decent WR2/3 in Houston

Which a angers me we couldn't get Dell or at very least Brown in return. I don't losing Diggs but with nobody on the active roster to replace him perturbs me.

So a lousy 2nd round pick next year and we lose our best WR AND take a huge cap hit? WTF?

and giving up a pick this year and next year. Bad trade IMO unless we have an plan in place to replace him with someone younger (see Higgins)

Oh boy I’m surprised to the Texans but pick # 44 better be involved. I did say that it wouldn’t surprise me if they are the dead cap if they could get back an early 2nd rounder. I have to assume that’s involved

Double dip at WR coming? Puts my boy McConkey back on the table lol

Bills receive 2025 second-round pick via Minnesota.

    Texans receive Stefon Diggs and a 2024 sixth-round pick and a 2025 fifth-round pick. https://t.co/WlL4mAaavz

Feels like we gave up too much, Diggs and the picks? Seriously I would think if giving up picks we'd also look to get a player back.

So glad they have Tua cause Mosert/Achane is a helluva RB combo

Tua hasn't gotten an extension yet and nor has than been whispers he's working on one. Joe Klatt mentioned in one of his mocks that Penix could give them the deep thrower they need and could be their 1st Rounder in April.

    Maybe...hopefully....better than last year's group?

Both of these new additions produced many more tackles in run defense than Phillips, Settle, Ford

Could we still take a DT in Round 1 or 2?  Yes, but it would seem less likely now

Considering that the two backups only signed one year deals I don't see how limits us drafting a quality DT in the early part of the draft since need to find a long term answer to replace DaQuan who likely on his last contract for the next two seasons.

Paying these guys what they are paying them absolutely 100% better than paying Phillips to sit in the medical tent. Don’t disagree with that one bit.

but the vet min contracts do add up. There will be at least 4-5 of them on the backend of the roster eating up cap space this season. When we get the final 53 we can revisit this and you can call me an idiot all you want at that point. But for now, we will just have to see.

my argument is, and has always been if you up 4, 5, 6+ vet min deals and replace them with rookie deals, you pay half as much. Saving roughly 4-6m that could be spent elsewhere. It’s literally the difference between a guy like Harty and Hopkins if you look at last season as a reference.

In previous versions of CBA (not sure of recent one tbh) veterans earning the minimum salary counted at a lower cap figure to allow teams to not replace old guys with younger ones to allow veterans to play longer/get a vested pension etc.

Yes, in some ways when the discussion of center pops up it reminds me of the MLB debate from last year. The fans had convinced themselves that Beane was bluffing and we would be taking a LB early. Then it never materialized and it turned out the team was pretty set in their mind at the spot

Same with Center this year. Trade Bates. Cut Morse. So obviously there's a hole there. But again, I really feel like this was the plan dating back to last year. Bringing in McGovern and Edwards and then getting Edwards snaps as the OL6 guy. I could see them taking a G/C type in later rounds....but I really believe they believe in the OL the way they have it presented. Of course, it also wouldn't shock me if we brought in Brian Allen from the Rams either. Just 28 and played under Kromer. Seems like if center is a question still...that may be where they look.

I don't think Allen will be added because Clapp started for the Chargers last season at Center and has played there most of his NFL career. Now I wouldn't be shocked if we add a veteran G to compete or drafted a kid for long term depth but just don't see another veteran Center addition.

Wow what a crazy break to catch him. From article it sounds like he hacked jumbotron, they figured it out and traced it to him.

Led to warrant for the hacking where they seized his pcs and that lead to them stumbling on his child p videos. Monster could easily be out there If he wasn't seeking petty revenge for being fired

Dude looks like a Disney villain
