  1. Not me.Growing up in Erie I could have been a Stillers or Browns fan. But I hated those teams. On just the right day we could get Bills games via Toronto. In 1986 they acquired (or reacquired) this phenom QB named Jim Kelly. I thought, "this team has nowhere to go but up." I decided the Bills would be my team and I would follow them to the SB . . . which I did . . . those were the days! Little did I know I would marry a gal from Buffalo and end up with an extended family of huge Bills fans. Glad I didn't go with the Browns . . . or even the Stillers. I'll root for my adopted team forever, or no team at all. 19-0 baby . . . GO BILLS!
  2. We should start a contest to see who calls the date the first "we should lose out this year to get a great draft pick in 2014" thread starts.
  3. Agree we'll take a QB (or two) in the draft, but that leaves another position of need unaddresed with a 1st/2d rd pick. Well here's hoping for the best. Draft day coming soon.
  4. But we start in the hole having lost Levitre and our starting QB. We need two big signings just to stay even.
  5. I can't help but notice from this graphic display, just how abysmally bad we are at free agency.
  6. If true, and I hope it is, Marrone has one season to get this done. If no forward momentum at the end of this (non-playoff) season, the FO will again make gimmic moves that will doom Marrone to 3 and out and keep us in the basement another half decade at least.
  7. What if you added the chroise of Hamdan?
  8. I think your post shows you still care, which is good.I started in 1985 and I'm pretty much where you are. For years I followed the Bills to get back to that SB high and this time get the win. But the SB years are so far away now you have to redefine success. Just getting back to the playoffs is the goal now but even that seems out of reach. I'm trying to decide if I will shell out the $300 for Sunday ticket and frankly I don't see much hope this year. I do see some opportunities though, if nothing else the new regime is finally taking a long view and not just trying to fill seats this year. A lot will depend on QB and there is time for that to play out, so for now I'm guardedly optimistic in the long term.
  9. This is great life advice but hard to follow when you work closely with people from all over the country who follow teams like the Packers, Stikllers, Giants, Pats (!), etc. I don't hear the end of it on Mondays in the fall and I can't defend the franchise with a straight face anymore. On the plus side, being a Bills fan has brought me instantly closer to other Bills fans, wherever I've gone.
  10. Yup . . .anyway looks like Smith is going to KC.
  11. Well reasoned, and I'm not saying you're wrong. But I would be excited just to get to the playoffs in the next three years. SB is but a distant deam . . . I'm not holding out for the "one".
  12. Right now a QB who can regularly win ganes and get us to the playoffs would be a HUGE UPGRADE and I would be ecstatic to have him. The "one" can come later when we have a defense that can win championships, which we do not have now.
  13. Isn't it interesting how we all agree we need an upgrade at QB, but when an actual name is floated, nearly everyone balks because he's not the "one"?Getting the "one" is a matter of luck. All I know is Fitz isn't the "one" and Smith could be the "one". I for one am ready to give him a chance, even if it means a big cap hit from Fitz.
  14. Game is now officially over.
  15. I could watch the two girls dancing again. And again.
  16. Just throwing that out there. No worries mon! Love the Jeep commercial. Well done.
  17. I'll give Sketchers a thumbs up
  18. VW: that was "racist"? Anyone offended?
  19. The people Bud is advertising to don't watch football much. Very European . . . much be an INBEV thing.
  20. Audi is the only one worth watching so far. All others = yawn Doritos goat = fail
