    In our 17th year without playoffs, with the talent he inherited last year, with the schedule we had this year ... yes. teams clean house and make the playoffs. Just have to find the right talent.

    I still wonder how much Russ had to do with it. A loudmouth blue-collar player's coach is just what we needed to sell tickets after 2 years of patrician disciplinarian Marrone. And he sold a LOT of tickets that first offseason. Russ was the organization's caretaker and he would have had a lot of pull with the new owners.
