Glad to hear you're well taken care of where you are. I wasn't defending poor and underpaid employee treatment AT ALL. More or less stating reality of a system and general ideology that's most places.

    Thanks.

I was mostly responding to this specific sentiment you expressed: "No matter how rich a company is, they pay the lowest they can to achieve the ends to a mean."  It may be true for many companies in many fields, but it hasn't been my experience in the job market over the past 25+ years.  Yes, there's obviously a profit motive in market economies, but many companies manage to achieve this while valuing their employees via above-market compensation, great benefits and a culture that provides opportunities for growth and advancement.  It's not all top-hat capitalist overlords and serfs/slaves.

As for truly crappy employers?  Yes, they exist and unskilled employees often get shafted.  That's why I'm pro-union and continue to vote that way.

Cleveland coach taking a timeout into halftime down 10 w/ Houston set to get the ball to start the second half. I'd be livid if McD did that. Looks like the coach quit

I don't know.  They had 3rd and 19.  They aren't likely to convert and then you give ball back to a white hot Houston offense with 35 seconds.  Get to the locker room and make some adjustments.  Don't make things worse at that moment.

Flight from Pittsburg to Buffalo diverted to Albany by high winds.  Steelers bus from Albany to Buffalo. 🤔  Even better if they put them on one of those 'winking blinking kiddie cans' that Ralph used to rent for the training camp scrimmages against the (original) Browns.

    Just stick them on this...

This sums up the downside of capitalism. Everything is supply and demand. No matter how rich a company is, they pay the lowest they can to achieve the ends to a mean. So basically as long as people will take this job for $15 an hour, they will pay $15 an hour. If they can’t get people, they will raise it.

The higher profits, the more successful the corporation considers itself, as well as outside observers.

I disagree.  That's really up to the company's leadership.  There are good and bad businesses to work for from an employee perspective.  I'm a peon in the grand scheme of things, but my employer has a 7.5 hour workday, I get 4 weeks paid vacation, another week of Care time, good healthcare, can take off anytime I need to on short notice, great office culture, etc.  Good employees will flee a company that doesn't take care of them.

Fins fans are braindead.  That "victory lap" happened while Allen was taking interviews after the game.  The fans were chanting MVP at the time according to Sal C.

That thread is pretty funny.  Josh is living rent free in their heads.  They've convinced themselves that Josh is some egomaniac douchebag creep, which couldn't be further from the truth about the kid.

Tre White definitely was called finished when he returned last year. Then he finally was getting back to normal almost 2 years after the injury.

Sure, I'm hoping for the best with Von, but Tre White was 26 when he injured his ACL in 2021.  Von Miller turns 35 in March.

I'm curious if this shows Miller was relying on his athletic ability and not enough on his technical skill set...or maybe everything was based on his ability to get bend and he never developed a more nuanced technical fundamental set of rush moves.

It's really the only thing that makes sense...obviously they had to have seen Miller wasn't able to do the same from an athletic perspective, like elite hall of fame level athleticism, but they had to have figured he was going to be able to rely on the technical part of his game to still be impactful, but why hasn't he?

Like Beane and McD aren't morons, as much as people might have issues with them, they are pro level talent evaluators maybe one or two people on this board are even close to the same range in terms of player evaluation... there has to be a reason they keep playing him...what is that reason and it's not that because they're morons, just please for the sake of respect for me typing this all out on a phone, please brainstorm a reason that isnt that to help further the discussion (though I fully support trolling me with "because they're morons moron" lol)

Because he seemingly lost 20% of his athleticism overnight.  There's no "techniquing" your way to success at edge rusher when you lack baseline NFL athleticism.

Maybe Von makes a miraculous recovery between now and training camp and can provide us with a little juice as a situational pass rusher in 2024.  But he clearly isn't physically capable of really competing on the field of play at this time.

Fans are harsh. The guy was dominant last year up until the injury.

And I used to be able to dunk a basketball, but now I can't jump over the phonebook.  No offense or blame to Von or Beane or whatever, but Father Time remains undefeated.

Let's put that Rudolph statement in context though... All he's really done is manage the games and not turn the ball over. And mostly against subpar d's and backups (Ravens). 3 passing tds in that span btw. He has had some nice throws though. This game is imperative that the Bills don't turn the ball over. That is how it becomes a nail biter.

Don't get me wrong, I agree to a point.  I'm not scared of Rudolph, but I think you're understating his accomplishments over the past three weeks.  He threw for 290 (124 rating) and 274 (112.2 rating) in consecutive weeks against the Bengals and Seahawks - two teams who were playing for their playoff lives.  Then, in a must win game on the road in terrible weather against the Ravens' backups, he delivered a 90% completion, 115 rating game to push the Steelers into the playoffs. He hasn't thrown a pick this year, so I don't think you can count on him giving the game to us. The guy is more than capable of doing what Mac Jones did to us earlier in the season if we are not 100% locked in on Sunday.

Bad weather, going against a good defense and an underdog team with nothing to lose and a 3rd string QB...

To me, this has all the makings of an anxiety inducing, closer than it needs to be, can't exhale until the final whistle type of game. Not that the Bills have really played any other type of game for most of this season, but...

I hope I'm wrong. I hope it's a laugher in favor of the good guys. As it stands now, though, I'll say 20-17 Bills.

Agree, Logic.  And Rudolph has been one of the best QBs in the league over the past three weeks.  We have to protect the ball and get the running game going or this could easily turn into an ugly Sunday.

Rufo co-opts the old Breitbart playbook effectively, I’ll give him that. Make your motives clear, slow drip the hilarious ***** as your enemy entrenches itself more and more until finally the enemy position is hilariously untenable but there is zero room to walk back because they got there one step at a time.

Does Rufo care about this woman or whether she has her job? Probably not. But the goal isn’t necessarily to take the institution. When the institution cannot be taken the next best thing is to burn it down.

Of course, what replaces her is almost certainly bad, if not worse, but that’s beside the point.

Correct.  What gives Rufo power is that he is 100% transparent about his goals and tactics, and he just gives his political enemies rope by which they hang themselves.
