I would move both of these guys for pretty much anything we could get for them at this point. Neither is part of the future of this franchise.
-
I love this trade! Sammy will struggle with his injured foot all season and rack up maybe 600 yards playing with Goff before walking to the highest bidder. We get another draft chip to angle for our future franchise QB. I'm neutral on the Darby deal, but I see the logic behind it. More than anything, I'm inspired that the new regime has the balls to make what would appear as an unpopular move in the short term for long term success.
-
Yes and I like it. Darby was trending down and Watkins is made of glass and would have walked after the season. Short term pain for long term gain. These guys have vision and guts.

NP seems to be a natural leader of men. I like Tyrod and hope he takes the next step this season, but I'm also eager to observe NP's development. I feel much better about our QB situation than I have in quite some time. If McDermott can transform the defense back into a formidable unit, we can be a real tough out for teams this year.

My buddy wanted to leave at the end of the first half but I wanted to stay and applaud them at the end of the game for a nice two year run. Figured the game was over. Never expected them to come back. My alterior motive inadvertently paid off. What a game.
Similar story here. My father, who always liked to leave early - even during tight games - insisted we stay to watch the "end of a great run" when my Mom and I wanted to leave after the pick six.

Wow. Just an awful story. My heart hurts for the Heap family and any other family that has to endure these types of tragedies. Not sure how he will go on, but as a father myself, I know he will have to find a way given he has a wife and 4 other kids who need him present. If there is a god, may he bless this family and bring them peace in time.

Alright. This move ensures that we should be competitive at minimum next season.

I live in San Diego. Fluker sucked.

San Diego is as good as gone. The owner doesn't want to be there and they are doing everything in their power to encourage the city government, residents, and fans to just give up and let them go. Kudos to Mayor Faulconer for at least putting up a fight.
-
Lol. Guy is doing a statistical comparison between them when Taylor's thrown less than 40 NFL passes. Epitome of stupid.
-
There's no harm in letting another team develop your possible future franchise QB (who is raw) in a place like Green Bay where he's not expected to be the savior and therefore not pressed into action before he's ready.
Yeah, I mean, why spend a 5th round pick on a guy and develop him in your system, when you can wait and use a 1st round pick on him in three years based on one good start in a meaningless end of season game in 2016?

Actually Fitz' first game action was against the Jets at the swamp lands. He entered the game in the 1st half after Trent got injured tied 3-3. We won. Down 13-3 at the half, Instrumental in the win was a 37 yard TD pass to Lee Evans in the 2nd half.
Nice try though.
Fitz did nothing in that game. His TD pass was a five yard slant that Evans turned into a big play. We won because Sanchez threw 6 picks.

I agree that Pete's a cheat too. Brought in the Ting brothers so their shady doctor dad could feed his entire roster steroids. Just go look at the laughable pictures of Cushing...lol. He also paid Reggie Bush's family among others. Who said cheaters never prosper?

I think they just want someone that actually knows Bills football and Rodak doesnt know much.
TY. The guy is there only to stir the pot and not really to report actual Bills news to the fans. I don't have any problem with Sully or his negativity, but I absolutely hate this smug Rodak kid.

Would be hilarious if Orton claimed he was retiring just because he hated Marrone and now he comes back as our veteran caretaker qb for one more year. Wouldn't completely shock me.
-
disagree. its so old, over used and lame.
totally agree. these Rex fetish jokes have had one foot in the grave for some time, and now i'd go so far as to say they're six feet under.
-
Holy hell, yes, I approve of the hire and I'm darn excited. First legit coach we've brought in since I started watching the Bills (1985). I truly believe he'll get this team to the playoffs in the next two years.
-
i think we are closer to a 4 win team than 10 win team. We got damn lucky in 5 wins this year...
No. We are right where we should be at .500. What games did we get "damn lucky" in? I guess Detroit with the missed field goals. Other than that? Minnesota? We played an ugly game, overcame 4 turnovers and made it happen in the 4th quarter. The rest were solid wins. The only other game that really felt like luck played a major role was the KC game, where a couple of fluke fumbles cost us a game we controlled.
Also, we were never really blown out all year. That's not the sign of a 4 win team.

Go get Scott Frost from Oregon as your OC. Let him install that up-tempo run-first offense. It would be a perfect fit for Buffalo winters and EJ Manuel.
-
Can't really fault Marrone here. If you miss it, the Broncos are guaranteed 3 points and the game is over with 6 minutes to play. By punting it away, we actually still had some sort of puncher's chance at the end. It's a tough call and easy to second guess, but in this situation you can argue that it actually worked out about as well as you could have hoped.

the announcers noted that Carpenter was 2 of 4 on onside kicks for his career. i didn't have a problem with it. i assume they've been practicing with Gay and they felt comfortable with his abilities.

We have the kind of defense that feasts on crap qbs. Great front four can shut down the run and make a team one dimensional. Unfortunately, our linebackers and secondary are very average in coverage, so they can easily be exploited by an elite qb. The crap QBs we've faced are either too inexperienced or just plain suck too much to get the o-line in the right protections and get rid of the ball to beat the rush. This won't be the case with Manning, Rodgers and Brady (as we've already seen). Given our anemic offense, I expect 10-20 point losses in each of these three games.
-
Well, 9-7 and finishing 3-1 are two completely different things. But okay.
That's my point. I'd consider 2-2 (9-7) a miracle. And that will not be good enough to get us into the playoffs. I'm saying there is no chance we finish 3-1. None.
-
No. Every game is precious to every team still in the playoff hunt this time of year. Denver only has a one game lead in their division. They have a ton of veterans, an experienced head coach and a 15+ year hall of fame QB. You better believe that they will be laser focused on destroying us come Sunday.

Rice was ridiculous in his prime. Definitely Jerry for me.
