I wouldn't be surprised if Bryan Scott gets cut either. He's a liability in coverage and I think his presence will limit the development of Searcy. Wilson and Jairus are interchangeable and Corto is serviceable as a backup at Strong Safety. He also adds to Special Teams more than Scott.

I'm merely saying that they have a similar playing style. You're correct in that I'm sure that scout left out MW's laziness but probably said he is a big, physical receiver, which he is. And to address production, what did Lee do last year besides "draw double teams"? Christ send anyone on a deep fly pattern if he's open b/c they are doubling Stevie, Fitz will get him the ball. Also, Fitz doesn't throw a great long ball, so what is the point of tying up money or a roster spot for a player that doesn't fit the skill set of his QB? Chan is known as a guy who "maximizes minimally talented QBs", so this seems to be consistent with building a team around Fitz's strong suits.

As I put in another post, I think the only way for Maybin to save his career is to become a non-rush OLB. I suggested signing Manny Lawson and letting Maybin learn that position behind him. They have similar body types (Lawson is 10 lbs heavier) and both played DE in college. Having someone like Lawson who actually knows what he's doing at that position (Kelsey is clueless) might actually turn Maybin around.
