My wife thinks you have a very bad idea. The thing is...Augie snores. Like a FRIEGHT TRAIN! Or so I’m told. By everyone. Including myself as I can wake myself up snoring.  I travel with a CPAP machine only if my wife is joining me - I hate that thing, but it DOES stop snoring for the most part.

Before I got the CPAP I had an operation and the last night in the hospital they put me in a double room. I woke up the next morning to hear my roomie SCREAMING at the nurse that I should NEVER be put in a room with another person and he’d be shocked if the people across the hall slept a wink all night. I felt bad for the old guy, but it’s not a thing I can just decide to stop.

If I weren’t so lazy, I’d start a thread to hear all the other stories from the peeps who have the same issues. Before the CPAP we were staying in a Ritz Carlton (ain’t cheap) and my wife went down to the lobby about 3:00 am to get a second room so she could sleep for a few hours. THAT is desperate.

But other than that, I’m perfect.  ?

    Almost.

First off, I would not need a bed mate. There are TWO beds in the room..

Don't ever go into sales, Augie, because you make sleeping in my CRV sound like a dream! *-)

  2. My daughter, Nikki, AKA Nicole, AKA Baby Rock was an annual companion to TBDAHOT while she was still in college over a decade ago. Since then she has gotten married and has two beautiful children.

Her 17 month old son (my youngest Grandson) was diagnosed with high risk Pre-B ALL Leukemia just over a month ago, and during testing also found a rare genetic mutation called Ph-like-ALL.

I have pasted in a portion of his story from his Go Fund Me page, and a link if you are able and inclined to provide help. Many expenses NOT covered by health insurance, are very draining.

At least go to the link and read his story.

    Naaman’s Fight Against Leukemia

He has been receiving treatment from a wonderful group of doctors and staff at Yale-New Haven Children’s and the Smilow Cancer Hospital. They have laid the groundwork for his treatment plan, which is an intense 6-month period with a total 2-3-year treatment timeline. We are all hopeful for his recovery and understand how difficult a period this will be for not only Naaman but his family as well.

    Why gofundme?

Naaman’s parents, Nicole, Neil and their 4-year-old daughter Nadine have had several financial burdens placed on them. During this challenging time their incomes will be reduced to one. There are also several costs beyond the healthcare bills as well as the unknowns needs that undoubtably will arise in the future.  We hope that any donations from family, friends as well as others will help alleviate some of the financial burdens they will face.

We thank each one of you for your continued support of our beloved Cheeky and hope for his full recovery.

Pat and I will be there with the usual and not so usual people. Rich (RKFast), Jay (Not that Jay), KJ and Randy and our daughter Michaela. We will most likely try dinner someplace near where we are staying (Hamburg Motel 6). Although we may Uber to Dannys and finish beck at the Quality inn.

I was thinking of cancelling my reservation at Motel 6 since I am alone.

Plan B was sleep in my CRV.

Plan C was drive up Sunday morning.

    Maybe should rethink my plans!

And randomly dumping hops into a vat of beer and calling it "Craft" isn't always a good thing.  I've had IPAs that were disgusting because people haven't learned how to balance flavors they just pour and pray.

IPAs are the most overrated beer in existence IMO.

I enjoy Founders All Day IPA (4.7% ABV). It comes in a can and a 15 pack is about $17 at Wegmans. It is very refreshing after a hot day out in the sun.

I know there hasn't been much chatter about it, but yeah, the Two Bills Drive Annual Home Opener Tailgate is on!  As usual we'll be at the front of Hammer's Lot starting way early.  I'm sure @Hammered a Lot will be posting some parking sign ups in the semi-near future.  It's always pretty low-key - bring what you want, share what you want.  We always have more food than people.

So plan to come out and meet the people behind the avatars!  Always a fantastic time.

I am amazed this thread is so low key this year! I guess between now and game day there will be a lot more comments on who is going to the game and how many plan stopping by the TBD Tailgate. I will be at the TBDAHOT for sure, but might be coming up Sunday early AM instead of staying in Hamburg Saturday night. Who will be around on Saturday, and where will you be partying?

The replies may decide if I come up a day early or not!

Coordination & response tests would make the most sense. Walk a straight line, read something out loud that requires a bit of concentration, etc. I know that leaves a lot of room for error on the part of the officer, but the arbitrary 0.08 doesn't make much sense either. Is there that big of a difference in driving ability between 0.07 and 0.08?

To reduce the chance of officer error (or bias, for that matter), the tests should be video recorded and admissible in court.

With MS, I have horrible balance and an uneven gait. I often wondered how they would handle a physical if pot was legal. I do not worry about a sobriety test because I do not drive impaired. Period. Earlier in my life I deserved a DWI arrest a couple times.

One time when I was an under aged drunk and a friend picked me up in a car I found out was stolen, after I got in! I got dropped off ASAP and am lucky not to be "grand theft auto".  He was lucky he did not get caught. I had to learn to be careful who I hung out with and eventually how to grow up and change my own behaviors.

Stop drinking beer...it's worked wonders for my weight ?

I used to drink one or two glasses of red wine every night. I switched to one or two beers a couple times a week and dropped almost ten pounds, over a few months. I am also getting more exercise now that summer is here.

I have a 16 x 32 foot in ground pool. Keeping that clean and balanced is a lot of work. Extreme heat and humidity knocks me out because of my MS. After some work in the garden and maintaining a large yard, I use the pool to exercise, reduce my body temperature, and just cool off.

I love all four seasons but I hate extremes in weather ANY time. Looking forward to summer parties. day trips, a couple short vacations (Catskills and Adirondacks), summer festivals and open air music. The Rochester International Jazz Festival just started, so we are hoping to see Brian Seltzer tonight downtown.

I dislike winter the most but like to get outside whenever I can, doing something besides shoveling snow. I love my snow shoes and wooded trails.

  8. I had a mid 70's Ford van that I bought for $75.

It had many minor minor problems as you would expect, but after a year, the steering box (I think) locked up. You could only turn the steering wheel a little to the right, and it was like tightening a bolt! There were no problems making left hand turns.

We parked it and decided there were more problems than the van was worth. I lived about a mile from the drive in, so our farewell trip in the van was carefully laid out only making left hand turns on straight roads.

After we got home, I had it picked up by a junk yard flatbed and they gave me $40 for scrap, so the car cost $35 to drive for a year. LOL!

To me, it means today...and tomorrow it will mean the current today...the time's they are a changin' and I don't want to impede the progress

That is kind of how I look at it,  Poojer.

As with anyone, there have been peaks and valleys, but if I worry about the future or long for yesterday, I lose today.

Anyhow, the sixties were fun for me: Little league baseball,  AFL football on Best Street, a small suburban home in Hamburg, no pot to piss in, but did not feel poor, lots of kids in the neighborhood, the British Invasion, teenage summers at Silver Lake with my grandparents, teenage girls and drive-ins. A lot like the movie "Stand By Me", with a touch of "the Outsiders" tossed in!

That is just one slice of the great times I have had over the years. Today I am one of the luckiest people I know.

(sorry for ignoring grammar in this post - it was more of a brain dump than a structured paragraph)
