  1. Quality of life is a personal judgement. I live on 30 acres away from a city. My wife and I walk our 850' driveway from 5:45 am to 6:30, every morning. Dead quiet. Watching the space station over fly, and looking at the solar system season by season. Pretty decent quality of life compared to urban living, if you ask me, but to each his own.
  2. The man lives close enough to Whitetop Laural Creek. Grab a fly rod and enjoy. I have. It will be better for you than this last day here.
  3. You are clearly crazy. The nonsense of the creeps on Jan 6 is minimal compared to what occurred on 9/11. No different than any other riot, which we have had hundred of. No threat to our gov/democracy or anything else suggested. Just stupid. Further, this total "Charlottesville" thing is idiotic. The people who marched in that unite the right thing were out of towners. Not from here. They came here because of this nonsense of removing a Lee statue, which was stupid but did get removed. Further, for clarification, since you often post stuff without accuracy, I didn't "witness" it. I went to our church to do something, and when I came back, I drove through the County building area where the unite lunes were staging. I saw them and they were dressed, and signed in a manner that was insane. They were not from here. I got held up by local police so those nuts could cross the road and get to their march, which eventually led to the death of a woman. When I got home, I told my wife that this was going to get ugly, and events played out the way they did.
  4. If there's water involved, which I doubt based on where you live and the time of year, be careful of double deeping that "deep end."
  5. You are clearly disturbed. I didn't disparage academics. I disparaged the faculty lounge atmosphere wherein people who have done nothing express strong opinions. I have never mentioned a thing in this thread about where I live, why I live here, people I know and have served, nor anything else related to my situation. One quick note though, since it is something you brought up. We do have a Wegmans here. After the Rolling Stone debacle falsely claiming a rape on campus, there was one woman from UVA who they targeted. Manipulated pictures all over the "claim." She sued Rolling Stone after the entire thing was proven to be as false as the Duke lacrosse nonsense. I ran into her in the produce section of our Wegmans, a few weeks after she was awarded the judgement. Very easy to identify. I told her I had never cared more about a single person getting a favorable judgement in a lawsuit.
  6. It is a common phrase meant to disparage people who do nothing but talk, conveying a view that they know what they are talking about, without ever having a real job, making a payroll, facing shareholders or competing in any way. Blowhards with tenure who think people care what they think.
  7. Elon Musk is a brilliant man. But......and I've read that thing closely, he has absolutely no idea about the subject of the deployment of the F-35, nor air combat or fleet defense, and it is quite obvious in his expressed view. This is late 2024, not 2028. People's lives and nation's status are at stake, as well as international commerce. That is the reality, and dealing with that reality is the mission of gov's.
  8. It isn't "clear" at all. I have no desire nor "need" to debate nor have contempt for anyone. You post wacky judgements all the time on things you know nothing about, and simply aren't true. I have no interest in talking about Jan 6 because doing so with folks who think is is bigger than 9-11 are people I don't think are rational, and therefore 'twould be a fool's errand. It was an action by a few crazy people. Just as riots in major cities are the actions of vandals. Not concerned, and certainly not motivated to discuss it with people who enlarge it to a lunatic scale. You post too much, and the more you do, the wackier you seem.
  9. You are clearly an idiot. There are no university elites in this conversation. In no way, ever, have I contested any election. Wrong on all accounts. No surprise.
  10. I have no interest in opining on anything regarding a group of morons on a single day doing something remarkably stupid, anymore than I think school shootings from individual lunatics point to a national attitude. Same thing with those out of towners that came to my hometown. Anamoly. 9-11 was way bigger. Way more impactful. Way more fatal. Had an infinitely grater economic impact. Had an infinitely greater impact on our gov. To claim otherwise is the stuff of idiotic faculty lounge conversation expressed by people who have no idea of scale or scope. In other words, idiotic.
  11. I wasn't referring to a message board. I was referring to the reporting from the uninformed media.
  12. That "judgement" depends on where you were at those times. 3000+ people dead. An entire industry destroyed. Scores of medical problems years after. A massive reworking of US internal security. Not close, at least not to the people attending the memorial services that I did. Partisan nonsense. Partisan insanity.
  13. Swivel less. Relax more. The concept that military bases have restricted airspace above them is ridiculous. Very few do.
  14. I hate to do this, but am compelled. There is a mass amount of uniformed opinion about this, but I want to clear something up that seems to be in evidence. AIRSPACE OVER MILITARY INSTALLATIONS IS MOST OFTEN NOT RESTRICTED. Got that? The fact that there is a military installation does not mean that the airspace over it is restricted. More often than not, it is not restricted. There are some places that are, but this is a total red herring re this drone nonsense. There is controlled airspace that you need to get a clearance to fly through; nothing to do with security, everything to do with traffic. There is uncontrolled airspace. Flying in there requires no FAA clearance. There is restricted airspace, which limits who can fly there. There is prohibited airspace, which means nobody can fly through there without a special clearance.
  15. Nearly nobody here will get this joke.
  16. I have no view, other than I think you are crazy.
  17. Of course I'm afraid of planes. That's why I flew them for over 40 years, and a drone for the last ten. You are a special kind of goofy.
  18. Totally ridiculous. Is this post an intentional joke? Let's hope so, or we have a lune on this forum.
  19. I humbly suggest adjusting now. The military has plenty of airspace to conduct low level training of small drone flying. No need.
  20. The claim is preposterous, and so typical of these folks. This Administration and Obama's, which also freed up a bunch of money for Iran to funnel into its proxies has led to this. Netanyahu did everything opposite of what Biden's controllers wanted, and thus the success. Don't invade Rafa. Don't expand into south Lebanon to address Hezbollah. Put in place a restrictive semi embargo on providing Israel needed weapons. To Iran..."Don't." They did. Stating we have no people in a war zone while the Eisenhower is defending against attacks on its task force and commercial shipping every day while at the same time denying that task force to take the threat out. Absolute fiasco from them. An undeniable pattern of mistake after mistake in the Admin's judgement and advice regarding the entire Iranian proxy thing and dealing with Iran itself.
  21. Your statement is an assumption, so your question/challenge is meaningless.
  22. I don't think its an airspace conflict issue or there would be far more action. The FAA would be far more aggressive if there was conflict.
  23. I've got a feeling that when the facts are known about this, a few people who think the US gov is behind this are going to feel silly. Want to keep a secret? Note how they do this? Look at the F-117 project and operation Constant Peg at Tonopah Test range. That's how these things are done.
