Insane Investment Into the Dline Paying Off
Jauronimo replied to billsfan89's topic in The Stadium Wall
Harrison is a healthy scratch, Oliver's 5th year option is major ??, Epenesa has had one good game. Rousseau looks like he could be the real deal and that will make everything worth it but you could just as easily argue that we have had pedestrian returns for the amount of investment in the D line. -
Start asking a million questions. Like about every decision to be made no matter how inconsequential. When they finally say they don't care or tell you to decide you ask "are you sure? It seems like you have a very specific vision for this project". Then ask 50 more questions about what size and color the font should be. List all the options.

Unless you're playing Tua/Brissett/Mills then you blitz every down.

Some things always were racist or offensive but they existed just the same and were effectively normalized over the years because no one gave a damn what the aggrieved thought. Generations of use later and things like the Redskins and Chief Wahoo were effectively legitimized. Every decade or so the topic has been re-litigated in public forums. Now we have far less people participating in this discourse who will argue until they're blue in the face that Aunt Jemima, Frito Bandito, and Chief Wahoo are a sacred part of this nation's history and simply cannot be changed. I know many participants in this thread think everything was just peachy until woke outside agitators started calling everything raysis in the twenty aught tens but the fact is this issue with Redskins is well documented back in the 1970s. It 50 years to gain any real traction.

I thought KC's defense played well.... For them
Jauronimo replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall
We averaged 12.1 yards per play passing and 8 yards per play on all plays. 31 points on 54 offensive plays, no turnovers. 3 red zone trips, 31 points. -
I just can't believe no one has played the "are redskin potatoes racist?!?!" card yet. Been waiting for that one.

I am laying out the history and differences for people who think the term Irish is equivalent to Indian or Redskin. If you think my pic of the gutless Dick Jauron juxtaposed as fabled Apache warrior Geronimo is offensive and carries the same weight as the term Redskin or Indian, then I will disagree. Insensitive, perhaps (mostly to Dick Jauron) but I don't really care. I'm not an activist.

And you see no irony in your impassioned defense of cultural appropriation while demanding I change my avatar. Welcome to the club.

Indian is a name that was thrust on millions of people after some dude thought the caribbean was India and it stuck for hundreds of years. Pretty effing ignorant to refer to all of the indigenous peoples of what would become north and south america as Indians. Irish is literally the preferred nomenclature of citizens of the country of ireland. There is nothing remotely controversial or offensive about the term Irish. This is an exceedingly poor comparison.

Who is the Shout Song offensive to and for what reasons?
-
So if you buy a minor league team from some old bigot that he named the Wichita Lazy Mexicans, in your opinion, the name isn't offensive unless you're an unabashed racist yourself? How does that make sense?
-
You think Irish is inappropriate?

Chase Young was a 5 star recruit coming out of highschool, an all american in college, a Heisman finalist, and #2 overall draft pick playing for a top 5 CFB program, and DROY last season. I like Rousseau a lot but lets get real.

A few Thoughts about the Chiefs Game, in no particular order
Jauronimo replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
I thought he was extremely composed and steady through a game with lots of curve balls. He threw the ball away multiple times rather than force throws. He took what KC was giving them. He maintained composure through a barrage of questionable penalties, dropped balls, missed PI calls, a 90 minute weather delay that could easily have gotten the offense off track. He just kept coming and hit the plays that were there. In the past, he would have gone sugar high and started playing hero ball but not last night. And when we absolutely needed a first down and to score some points he hurdled a dude and sealed the game. -
Allen was just fine in the AFC Championship game and the offense had no answers.

Per Nick Wright: Bills will be a fringe contender.
Jauronimo replied to Leonitas's topic in The Stadium Wall
Nick Wright is playing on the old Howard Stern effect. Back in his glory days, they said people who loved Howard listened one hour a day and the people who hated him listened for four hours a day. Except nobody loves or even likes Nick Wright and the people who hate him (i.e., Bills Mafia) drive all his traffic. He found an easily excitable bunch and hes milking it for clicks. Its no different than Skip Bayless with his TO/Tebow/Johnny Football takes. -
Their D caused two of Allen's worst performances last year.

10/10/21 Gameday SNF Bills @ Chiefs Postgame Thread
Jauronimo replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Big win, a great performance all around. I fully expect the Chiefs to get better and win the AFC West. They are missing some key pieces on defense and aren't in sync right now. If we see them again this year, they will be tougher. -

https://www.espn.com/nfl/boxscore/_/gameId/401326408 We were credited with 2 sacks. The big stat is 8 QB hits while only allowing one. -
What did the chiefs do on defense?
Jauronimo replied to Miyagi-Do Karate's topic in The Stadium Wall
The only thing that stopped Bills offense all night was penalties. -
KC had 5 first downs from penalties. Buffalo had 1. Buffalo had 2x more penalty yards called against them. Yet Chiefs fans are whining about the officiating!
