He really is a fantastic route runner. He has the innate ability to get open both underneath and deep. LaCanfora has the Bills at around $24 million under the cap just before the season started. Gaughan predicts Fitz and Stevie will cost $18mil a year together.

Is there anything more gratifying
QCity replied to Pine Barrens Mafia's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't know Belichick's restrained rage at his post game presser was pretty good too. Looks like it took everything he had to not lash out at that reporter for asking the same questions about the timeout. -
FYI Lee Evans didn't play today. His replacement, Torrey Smith, had 5 receptions for 152 yards and 3 touchdowns. So basically, Lee did a hell of a job playing decoy on the sidelines.

They should come out of the tunnel to the .

If his replacement gets any catches this week, they will be credited to Evans excellent decoy skills in street clothes.

new meaningless Power Rankings

ESPN has us up to 16. -
I feel sorry for him, he must live a miserable life in constant fear.

Although the lease is scheduled to expire July 31, 2013, Collins said he is not in a hurry. "I don't see a sense of urgency at all," he told The News. That's funny, I don't feel a sense of urgency to vote for him this November.

It was not about the money. We already paid Lee the bulk of his contract upfront. Sooner or later people are going to realize that Lee was part of the problem all along. It's taking a while for many to grasp this, but I can see some people are noticing that a 5'10" burner is a liability inside the redzone. Again, he may be the most overrated player to ever don a Bills uniform, I have no idea why this city has a love affair with Evans.
-
How exactly does a 5'10" one-dimensional deep threat help inside the red zone? This is pretty much dead wrong, they do count and they count plenty. Lee Evans was the sole reason these guys weren't on the field last year, or could only get limited playing time. Did you think we could just demote Evans to 3rd receiver? How well would that go over with him? Evans was a classy guy, but he is so overrated it isn't funny. And I'm sorry Evans fans, but we are in fact, better off without him - regardless of how many catches he has this year in Baltimore.
-
If they ever build an "Overrated Wall of Fame" in Buffalo, Lee Evans would be the first inductee. Smartest thing that guy ever did was choose #83, it's still paying dividends in the minds of 3/4 of the fanbase.

I can't believe we scammed the Ravens out of a 4th round pick.

Name the top 7 players on the roster
QCity replied to JPicc2114's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
According to the latest active roster as of today, the top 7 players on the roster are Barnett, Batten, Bell, Brown, Byrd, Carrington and Chandler. What's your point? -
Not holding my breath, NGU

Amazing information here. I heard Eric Wood plans to wear #70 this year. Any truth to this? -
Right now, McGee is the best CB we have, and we are paying him a very reasonable salary. Sounds like another Twitter circlejerk rumor with no legs. Oh look, the moron who made up the Merriman lies is involved, let's fall for this again.
-
In fairness, he also had a 48 percent completion rate playing with guys off the street. I saw at least 2 drops, a couple of blown routes, and he was constantly under siege. That being said, he's still had a terrible preseason.

Are we that good? Or are Jags that bad?
QCity replied to Clippers of Nfl's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Roscoe Parrish will do little to nothing to negate 3 starting defensive linemen sitting out. A slot receiver isn't run blocking in A-gaps, and the Jags lost a lot more than just a pass rush. My point was not to start an argument about who sat more players, but to highlight the effectiveness our skill position players had behind competent blocking. Again, it shows that with some OL help this offensive can move the ball well. -

The Jags had 3 of their 4 starters on the DL not playing. We were basically going up against their 2nd string line. If you want to take anything away from the Jags game, it should be the fact that the skill positions on offense looked fantastic behind an OL that can block. We probably won't fare so well against starters, but it is a sign of things to come if we focus on the OL in next year's draft. -
Moats currently holds the Buffalo Message Board title for Most Overrated Bill. As an OLB he has shown zero ability to set an edge, and becomes a huge liability against the run. His only value is as a 3rd and long pass rusher - he is not a three down LB in his current state (Batten has outplayed him in this role as well). It wouldn't surprise me at all if he winds up getting cut.

I think what many people just don't understand is that freakish size + some athleticism doesn't necessarily translate to production on the football field. Jasper was always a long shot to make the team, and after watching him play, it's quite clear that his home will be the practice squad. Look, everyone likes to root for the underdog, and I certainly was cheering him on 100%. But right now the guy has no business being on the field or the 53-man roster (not even for goal line stands). He is raw - so maybe he can be molded into a NT someday, but right now he cannot beat a 3rd string guard 1 on 1.
-
Now I've seen it all. There's a fan crying that we upgraded the practice field. I think that breaks some sort of anal retentive record, someone want to check with Guinness?
-
Check your source again. There's a new rule this year that let's teams insert and remove 3rd string QBs without effecting the starter. We actually "gain" an extra roster spot by listing him as 3rd string QB - which he is on the official site.
-
Thigpen signed for $11M as our backup and B.Smith for $15M as the 3rd string/Wildcat QB. Carrying 4 QBs isn't very likely IMO.
