Ashley Madison leak -- the fallout begins

You forgot emotionally. Was he emotionally the Bills best blocker? And 16th best overall guard is about right.

Dareus unhappy with Bills in contract talks (update:He's ok)
QCity replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Actually $14M (he's owed $8M this year + 6 years @ $90M). Someone should start a Kickstarter to "Raise money for Marcel" to really illustrate how silly his comment was. -
Wawrow Article Indicates EJ Sees Wall's Writing
QCity replied to The Big Cat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well I was talking about the two 3-and-outs he had - I credited him for a nice final drive. At the end of the day, he scored 8 points in an entire half against Cleveland's 3rd stringers. If that's exciting to the fan base, then my comment about the bar being lowered for expectations still stands. -
You really picked the wrong argument to play devil's advocate lol. Just walk away man, walk away

Wawrow Article Indicates EJ Sees Wall's Writing

EJ still looks brutal under pressure, I think he was something like 3-7 for 19 yds until the final drive (on which, coincidentally, they stopped blitzing until we got into the redzone). I think the bar is set so low for QB play that any completion draws praise now. Still, credit him for getting the ball in the endzone and converting the winning 2. He'll make a fine backup. -
Yeah, I bet they are jumping for joy in Tennessee right now. I sure wish we had a backup guard with an $8.6M cap hit. For those that want to reminisce Levitre: Hasn't heard anything from the Bills yet

Deadspin's "Why your Team Sucks": Bills edition
QCity replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It is true, and it is sad and disturbing. Any time there are heavy rains, Lake Erie turns into a toilet. If you look at an aerial photo of the shoreline after it rains, you will see a nice brown line of raw sewage. Here's an article from 2013 if you want some light reading. -
Clowney, Wilfork, and Watt. That's going to be very interesting. Mallett's plea of "Brady gets away with it every time" was pretty funny.

If McKelvin is out, what is the next option?
QCity replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Right now we have 3 DBs on this team that can play outside, and one of them is playing safety. Darby will be a good CB someday, but he's not ready for primetime just yet. And temporarily moving a CB (Graham) back to his natural position is not a "panic" move, it's a shrewd one. If Leodis can't go, I would say the odds of kicking Graham outside are a lot higher than lining up a rookie against Andre Johnson and Hilton. -
So now it's his fault that Geno can't take a punch?

Milloy came over something like 4 days before the opener. We haven't even played a preseason game yet.

Build a bully.

You don't think it's going to last another 24 years at minimum? Bold stuff.

Great 1st episode.

Get us the ball 14 times and we'll hurt ya.

At least we're still tied, right?

Whaley admits what we've suspected - Bills in QB Purgatory
QCity replied to IronyAbounds's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No, I'm criticizing the overall relaxed approach to getting QB. If you want to break it down to a specific year and draft round, it's probably just going to wind up being a 10 page argument about EJ, although that's probably inevitable at this point. We're going to have to disagree about EJ looking competent after that first year as well. Don't bother posting his stats, I've seen them a thousand times already. You asked me what my plan would have been. I told you I would have liked to see a more aggressive approach to the QB position. Maybe you agree with that or maybe you don't. Either way, do you honestly feel this team has taken aggressive approach to getting a QB over the last 3 years? -

It's only contradictory if you believe all street QBs are created equal. Orton was serviceable. He commanded a ~$5.5M salary. He was a bandaid. QBs like Palmer and Leinart are complete Hail Marys and moves like that deserve to be mocked. But again, I'm criticizing the circumstances that lead up to making these moves. Obviously you take a more aggressive approach to drafting a QB. Do you want specifics? That's a slippery slope. Do you want to hear "draft Beckham and trade back into the 1st for Bridgewater" again? Instead, how about I give you an example of a franchise that takes an aggressive approach to the QB position? Our dear friends, the Patriots. They have one of the greatest QBs to ever play the game, and yet, year in and year out, they draft more QBs. Not always late round picks either, mind you. We are talking 2nd (Garoppolo) and 3rd round picks (Mallet, O'Connell). This is not from a team that has a question mark at the position - they already have a HOF QB! It's an organization that clearly understands the value of the position and acts accordingly. By comparison we are like the timid kid that sits in the back of the class and is afraid to raise his hand. This franchise is allergic to drafting QBs. (and no, this doesn't mean we should draft a QB in the 1st round every year) -

It was a good idea. I liked Orton. But if the bar is set so low that a 12 game stint from a journeyman QB is lauded as some sort of success, then I don't really know what else to say. My criticism is directed more at the circumstances that lead up to having to make these late August desperation moves year after year. There's more than a few people here that think Kyle Orton is the Antichrist - that's why I said I'm looking forward to the reactions. -

Every year we bring in some garbage QB out of desperation and there's always a half dozen threads about it and how it could work out for us. It's practically an annual tradition at this point (example). If you need more enlightenment, feel free to search the archives for names like "Leinart" and "Vince Young." I look forward to reading the responses to this. -

Hah, I can picture him saying that. Maybe at the end of camp he'll bring in Jordan Palmer or Matt Leinart again. I always love listening to the reasons why that's a good idea and that nothing is wrong and everything is completely fine. -
Would you, right now, trade EJ for Tannehill? Chapter 3
QCity replied to FireChan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Look, Tannehill was already guaranteed ~$18M over 2015 and 2016 from his rookie deal. Yes, that was before the new contract. They upped that figure and now he's guaranteed $25M over the next two years ($21.5M guaranteed plus a 2016 trigger of $3.5M). That's it. Basically $12.5M a year for two years. After that it becomes a yearly deal they can walk away from. If he makes the leap and becomes a top-10 QB, everyone in their front office will be thrilled to pay him the rest of that big contract. If he flames out after 2 years, they can cut bait and escape cleanly. The new contract is simply a modern day "prove-it" type deal molded in the shape of Dalton and Kaepernick's contracts. They are only paying him ~$7M more than they were already going to have to pay him anyway, and now they control his future. If you think this contract is a huge burden on their payroll, you are a bit uninformed. -

After watching our QB's over the last decade I feel like I'm in purgatory.
