  1. 100 percent comes down to money, is he worth keeping, sure, is he worth paying a heafty contract, no...money money money
  2. I have watched plenty of L.Jones (friend is a big OAK fan) the guys numbers don't tell the whole story, they (OAK) have a backup QB who is a big old boy, they call him "Dozer" and every time they would get within the ten, they put this guy in and he would run threw people into the end zone, this certainly took away potential TD passes out of Jones stats, but having watched him, I would LOVE it if the Bills picked him up. 2nd round should still have him around. Also in his interviews Jones is very impressive. however he is more of a pocket type QB, not sure if new O is looking for that type of guy or not
  3. 4000yrds, over 30tds, but what gets lost in the numbers is OU had a big lineman like QB who would come in and run the ball everytime they got inside the 10, they call him the 'dozer....if they didn't have this guy imagine how many more tds this guy would have thrown
  4. My point is this, the guy has a low tender so it will not cost much to get him, big WR put up 37rec, 658yards, and 7td in ten games, has injury history, but is big athletic type WR, why not take the risk if all it will cost is a late pick? Ruvell Martin- 4rec, 41yards
  5. They did bring in Meachum, but they also brought in Alexander. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/09/24/bills-give-danario-alexander-a-workout/
  6. And the Post-Dispatch reports that Amendola’s agents expect some team to offer him a contract similar to the five-year, $30.775 million deal that Brian Hartline just got from the Dolphins That seems very doable. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/report-wr-danario-alexander-could-receive-low-rfa-170219758--nfl.html Bills brought him in for a try out last season, he ended up going to SD and dominating, low tender, worth the risk?
  7. H2O, thanks for the post, great read! Depending on the asking price I would love to see danny amendola brought in, I live in MO and this guy drops very few balls and runs great routes. Combo that with G.Smith and the O could be fun to watch!
  8. Lights out was the greatest Bill ever, no one can ever replace him.....except.....The 2nd greatest Bill ever Aaron maybin!
  9. Interesting article http://espn.go.com/n...ck-andy-levitre
  10. Great read about WR who drop the ball on catch able passes, one of those stats that are worth a look when evaluating free agents.... Danny Amendola really stands out here, don't know how if he would fit with the new OC wanting to have Stevie in the slot more, but the guy has great hands. https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2013/01/21/signature-stats-drop-rate-wide-receivers/
  11. Drops.....well Walker had has many has Finley, but his drop rate on catch able balls in way high, higher than any other TE by a wide margin! M.Bennett's rate is not much lower than Finley's. Interesting article on drops, check it out. https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2013/01/22/signature-stats-drop-rate-tight-ends/
  12. I think this is the best point brought up, at the 'Cuse TE's caught about 15% of passes which is about the same as with the Bills last season, but with a West Coast O, there are lots of quick passes which require a TE and WR to catch and run, so looking at it the Bills need a TE who can run after the catch and Finley can, Chandler is lacking there. Just a thought.
  13. I'm surprised this is getting shot down, who cares if they hate him in GB, he produces..Chandler is gone, and will be for awhile, so at this point all the Bills have is Stevie, I would be willing to part with a 3rd round pick for him, just think about it, its like TJ Graham for Finley, thats a steal
  14. In GB they spread the ball around to many targets, in any other place this guy would be putting up monster numbers...I'm sick of the cost too much talk, got to spend money to bring in the talent, Bennett and Davis are good.. Finley is well beyond and has yet to hit his peak.
  15. Finley is not willing to take a pay cut. May be available for trade or might get released before his roster bonus is set to be paid. He would not be cheap, but his is productive and is only 25. Scott Chandler is still recovering from his surgery and may not be back by week 1. If the Bills cut Chandler it would save them 3 mil in cap space to go after a guy like this. Your thoughts??
  16. how do they replace the irreplaceable Kelsay, aka-greatest Bill ever?......one word....AaronTheFreakinBeastMaybin! get et dun buddy!!
  17. Barkleys arm strength has been a question mark.
  18. I think it shows how competitive he is, looking for every little edge he can get.
  19. Coach Marrone says he staying tight lipped about 'Cuse players when other teams ask him questions, " I’ve told them we’re in the information gathering business not the information giving business when it comes down to players.” Love this guy!
  20. If this is true, then I think the writing is on the wall for Kelsay, they will have to make moving in free agency, too many holes to fill with just the draft.
  21. I think the FO is going to wait until after the free agent period is over to see what the cap looks like for this and next year. NO WAY he re-structures his deal, why would he? He has mega money coming his way if he doesn't, pain and simple Fitz is going to do what we all would do, keep the money.
  22. I think the biggest question is if the cutting the player is worth the dead money, in the case of kelsay absolutely, maybe chandler, and smith as well. But this is the only reason fitz is still on the team.
  23. So lots of the ESPN type are talking a lot about 'dead money' thought I'd take a second a explain what that is, and how it could effect how the Bills go about cutting players. When a player gets a new contract there signing bonus are paid out right then, but for salary cap reasons it is pro-rated to be paid though out the length of the contract (up to 5 years). So lets say Byrd gets a 4 year contract with a 16$ mil signing bonus, the bonus would be paid at 4$ mil a year plus his base pay. So if his base pay was 4$ mil a year he would count as 8$ a year towards the salary cap. Now lets say that Byrd pulls a Dez Bryant and goes nuts (please God no) and the Bills want to cut him after a year of the contract is complete. Well this is where June 1st comes into play. If he is cut before June 1st then the base salary will not count against the cap however the remainder of the signing bonus will, and that is what is called dead money. If the player is cut after June 1st then only the pro-rated portion of his signing bonus will be dead money for that year, the rest will count against the year afters cap. Example, if Byrd was cut after June 1st, 4$ mil would count against that seasons cap, and the remaining 8$ would count against the year after. If he was cut before June 1st, the entire 12$ mil would count against the cap for that year and would count as nothing the year after. Regardless of when a player is cut the base salary normally does not count against the cap. That having been said here is a look at some of the Bills who we may want to get cut but the dead money may play a big role in whether or not that happens. Fitz- Dead money= 10mil Kelsay- Dead money= 800k M.Anderson- Dead money= 4.5mil B.Smith- Dead money= 1mil S,Chandler- Dead money= 625k
  24. Jordan Reed would be a solid pick, has the size at 6'3, fast and catches the ball like Gates(SD) Davis(SF) and Hernandez(NE) plays like a basketball player, similar to how these others do. However he lacks the size (weight wise) at only 236 and is a sub par run blocker and a down right awful pass blocker.....Still would be happy with this pick.
  25. Bailey is a interesting prospect, no doubt a gamer, but like you said the injury issue. I think the combine will answer that question.
