  1. two simpletons in a bar.... So for fun : ) i mean that Happy : )| Frazier guy who has been around forever and seen it all from a defensive and head coaches perspective. Do you think he can spot an OC worth a dang ? can McD ? just a theoretical.
  2. i did send the chuckle emote to you on the bolded. as you might suggest _ the situation has not been managed at all well. and at more than one level I suppose
  3. i might add, the O line is much better at the run game. per player over last season. Miller was more of a grinder and Mills sucked at PP but fooled some folks with his run game stat graded out favorably, Ducasse even better if i recall ?? Get good at something Bills ! I think run game should be the focus of Coaches, Practice and game planning. best hope of survival for all. maybe even some wins ? its seems oddly simple to me. They do mix that in there, did it quite a bit last year if i can recall ? thing is , Bills miss key blocks. as if the play call is wrong and or no one is calling for adjustment ( Allen ). good point though. It did work a couple years ago. But we have lost some of those players like Seantrel . Max protect/ heavy/. heavy heavy/ might be a good idea before the season is over heck we might get to red zone goal line lined up if we still cannot move the line in shorts downs...
  4. any thoughts on his replacement ? btw i think they are committed for the season to Daboll . just a gut feeling though
  5. nice post you nailed some nice points
  6. Gug, you may be right but you may be wrong. a little anyways. I feel that the Brina hire was actually because his flexibility. working with so many different ones in some capacity over the years. I think his knowledge is deep. giving him a pass as he just came from College ranks and was focused and those processes. But yes it has not looked smart fro the most part so far. And i agree , the run game need to be setting up the pass. It is criminal with Ivory and Dimarco available to grind yards and wear a defense down for Shady to break some ankles?? is the O line Really that bad gets a no confidence vote? and Brian feels only hope is to pass ? and the rest of the NFL already knows that ?
  7. Interesting and similar take to mine. Rookie QB and Bodine are going to make mistakes. everyone is. But when a Bills player sees a rusher is going to come free and kill your QB ? you need to break off and at least chip. too many time i see O line double team a DT while seeing that someone is is about to rush free. Terrible attitude. or just stupid ? Sometimes you just need to recognize a bad or broken play call and calculate and react. then line up again. but jeez. the Line looks like it is making widgets. just doing what is called for and not a drop more. btw i already know the counter argument. But how many sacks last week ? doing your job is not enough at this point in Bills Offense. Make a damned play O line. Make me cheer please
  8. I pray each week. seriously. on Monday though. Bills already have a transition plan to boot Castillo and hard. The errors are not Play calling so much as execution and effort from the O line. The only reasons we keep these veterans is because of their Game awareness and ability to to execute to play correctly. Painful, and i have no idea how anyone on the Bills organization can say otherwise. so someone sure as f better have a working plan to get this crap sorted yesterday. Daboll is new. Castillo likely gets benefit of the doubt till last weekend. time to move on. Daboll should have found a guy by now and McB should trust Brian to run BD's offense via Daboll's new O line Coach. it's not you, it's not me . it's Castillo who is ruining Sundays whos with me.. I agree on each point
  9. I do realize they have to spend a minimum amount as compared spending to the cap. Not sure what the window is with how deals are structured etc. Those details elude me each year for some reason ! but for sure they need to be smart with money moving forward. smarter even than they have ( imho) . but if you dump that much talent get free up money ? ya better be a smarter spender than Whaley and Co. Otherwise it is all for naught imo. If they could fill the roster with rockstars, i would be all for it ! But i don;t think thats the method we are observing. : ) they had to sell it to him i might guess.
  10. I like him # 24 is it ?
  11. I would think he was made aware of what he is coming into. Like any player. Show me. then the game day reps come with everything else. Bills are giving him a shot. but heck they give anyone a shot to show up and make good. seems fair enough to me though. Phillips should consider himself blessed and get to work imho dude its always a need. They get bigger and stronger and faster each year. Star actually is just eating two players. he is not plugging holes as much as seemed obvious. he is not getting penetration. he just occupies two guys nearly every play he reps. its a job and some one has to do it. thats why i suggested just one via FA. Fans are clamoring already ! the old mantra about Bills over paying anyone to to come here, Coaching included is winding down. But to bring in an elite player who wants a ring before he dies or falls off the cliff ? Yep gonna have to pay. Score one and keep drafting and watching the waiver wire i guess Mr Beane
  12. keep in mind they have to spend much of the money. Can't bank it and collect interest like Mr Wilson would have preferred : ) Because Benjamin has not worked out Bills will be looking for a named WR to bring on board. for the fans sake at least. if it was me ? i would be so over focused on the O line to protect Allen at least till his contract is due : ) that i would have traded for 3 pro bowlers and over paid two FAs while drafting another 4 and one in the 1st or second rd. yes i am that obsessed with fixing the O line next for the long term physical and mental health of Josh Allen.
  13. If they can fix the O line, you may not need star receivers. The run game gets going and develop some balance so defenses don't T' off. They might only need the proper variance of skills at wrs. and the draft is where i hope they go. along with RB. I really cannot see where Bills can spend big money to change the team. Clowney is a nice example for sure, but i feel they just build through the draft again and fill in via FA unless they can wheel a deal for someone with cash leverage. But O line for me. fix that first. and really fix it this time, including an O line Coach. i digressed badly here. Fine with bringing in Jordan. I bet he likes it here. The D line is developing and will continue to improve. imo
  14. Kerley

I might expect he actually has a some lingering health issue.

sorry for sounding sincere. i rarely am on the board.

    sometimes though.

     Cheers  Happy

     Eric

  15. did I bold that ? wtf. oh you did for emphasis : ) heck no. i made bold assumptions. I had assumed Peterman was the season starter and most players thought oh snap we're going to tank. explains Benjamins efforts
  16. he was too small and unhappy to play with Peterman to start with.
  17. next year. everyone knows this ... : ) good pick up
  18. fair post. thanks for taking a longer look. good read !
  19. silly boy. the transition for college QBs is more dramatic than ever. maybe most intense position to develop. can go any way depending on a variety of circumstance. One of the traditional fears, and I subscribe to it ,is a semblance of pass protection is key, Consistent and repeatable. even if middling will develop a young QB well enough our line is often a box of chocolates. and we know what that means don't we ? Allen has plenty of potential as long as he does not get killed. I mean actually killed on the field. he has the mindset and heart to will himself to success.
  20. Not bad for an alleged Novice. perhaps they have not given Allen the tool to switch. or no one called it to him. Or he has the tools, and just missed the read. Kid looked overwhelmed. looking forward to next weekend to see what he has learned, what they taught him ? and how he adjusts. Not from the game as much as he makes adjustment pre snap. keep in mind they just switched centers , and likely for calling the line. great post 808 and thanks ! first season ? they are ramping him as best they can. lets keep in mind , this may not have been the Plan : ) he is likely learning " trial by fire " at this point. The Defense should be helping the Offense at practice with looks i hope.
  21. he has been working on it ! Not easy for a guy with his hair on fire.. story for another day perhaps.
  22. I am sure Coach tells him to find a way to beat the defender regardless. Life is not fair ha ha !! overcome adversity.
  23. yep he was dramatic lol First run play to his side and as he turned to pursue back towards the line of scrimmage. whats his name had the back of his collar. it was easy to see from nearly any angle. so i watched him rushing when Eddie was not spelling him . Those who have dogged him may not have watched him closely since he got here. He is nearly always being held when he is pushing the outside in leverage as he lines up. and why i wish they would move him and run more stunts if Star can get any push ever. I think we can just expect Hughes will be treated as he has since he used to lose it with the refs because of some bias it seems. Maybe he is That good ?
  24. Perhaps the whole Offense is going through growing pains with so much turnover ? Hard to lay the blame on why Allen had a rough day in the NFL as a young rookie in the fire. Too many option to pick just one. we all know , but some seem to forget ? It's about play execution on offense. and that ain't happenin enough yet. Bills will weed players out over time and perhaps get the roster sorted on O. Just hope hope hope my new bff Allen lives/survives long enough to enjoy when the Offensive roster left to right and front to back is much better than what was trotted out Sunday. Johnny Cash had a song about the game. "Damn my eyes" he sung. that game was all wrong from an Offensive perspective on every bullet point ? I agree. Bills panicked on Offense. like i said my friend, they are very young/new on Offense , each and together. rough day all around really. as mentioned some bits more tolerable than others imo.
  25. Is that you David Byrne ? that's what i heard. Talking Heads lead singer saying those exact words and being disappointed as some of us are. again. On to next week/season decade. still waiting , I'm still waiting , still waiting.. btw the song has a joyous ending Go Bills you could not see it but one of the guys must have had a better camera angle and said that Edmunds turned his head away for Rodgers as they went down . I assume the effort was recognized he was trying to shift his weight away from Rodgers. good no call
