I actually like McDaniels. He’s refreshingly interesting to listen to at press conferences and what he’s doing with the Dolphins offense is very impressive.

We averaged less yards per play on 1st downs against the Raiders than we did the Commanders. We are just not good on 1st down as an offense so far. We’re currently 28th in the league in yards per play on 1st down.

What’s the gimmick with McDaniel’s offense?

Get rid of kickoffs and eliminate punting. No more extra points either.

Beane went out and overpaid for Harty just for him to run 9 routes on offense and play only 13 snaps. He drafted Kinkaid in the 1st just for him to be an afterthought. it’s frustrating knowing this offense can be more explosive and dynamic yet it seems like we being guys in with no actual plan on how to use them.

It’s scheme and play design.

They’re both pretty bad

The most obvious case of going out of your way to use the word fuselage in a sentence.

Tua is having a great year. He plays so well into McD’s offense and McD is on another level when it comes to his use of motion and getting guys open. I’m actually jealous of that. Our DL needs to have another great game if we’re going to have a good chance at winning.

It was mind boggling and I don’t know if there’s an actual plan for him. He should never be asked to block.

Going to be a big test for our defense. Our offense may have to match points in a shootout.

I get where the OP is coming from and I sort of agree. On the surface, we’re 2nd in 3rd down conversion rate and 13th in red zone scoring. I still can’t shake the feeling that things seem harder than what the numbers indicate and if it weren’t for Josh doing superhuman things then this offense would not be nearly as good. Dorsey can be so infuriating with how he calls a game. The WR screens to Harty that never go anywhere, the constant RB draws where even casual fans can see them coming, Kinkaid seems like an after thought in this offense, the complete lack of scheming guys open to get YAC. When i look at this team so far, I see a championship caliber defense and an offense that goes through the motions more than it should. I put a lot of that on Dorsey.

I’ve said it before but it seems like there’s no plan to get him involved. We have this problem where we are totally incapable of scheming guys open.

Have you seen Wilson’s contract? Broncos are tied to him for a while.

Obviously not EVERYTHING is bad with Dorsey but there’s enough bad on a consistent basis that make me believe he is just incredibly lucky to have Josh cover up his poor designs and calls.

Does he really need an elite QB, elite #1, and a great #2 to design and call a good game? His opening scripts don’t really do much to get the offense in a rhythm or attack weaknesses. His route concepts seem bizarre. Things don’t come easy with guys getting open in space. Josh being incredible covers up a lot of deficiencies.

He’s been pretty meh. Doesn’t help that it doesn’t seem like there’s any plan for getting him involved.
